Six Palestinians killed, others wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza City

At least Six Palestinian civilians, including three children, were martyred and eight others were wounded on Tuesday following a series of explosions and heavy Israeli bombardment targeting the El‑Kateeba area in the west of Gaza City.

According to media sources, a series of powerful explosions shook the area, accompanied by heavy flights of Apache helicopters and drones, amid airstrikes in the El‑Kateeba and Ansar areas.

Media reports indicated that Israeli special forces infiltrated the area, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

However, no immediate official confirmation has been issued regarding the nature or circumstances of this incident.

The Hebrew media reported that the Israeli army launched an exceptional wave of airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, carried out in parallel with ground activities by Israeli-backed militiamen.

Medical sources said that several casualties, including fatalities, were admitted to El‑Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The total number of victims remains unconfirmed.

The sources added that ambulances were struggling to reach the targeted area amid relentless shelling, ongoing airstrikes, and heavy gunfire.

Panic spread among displaced families who were inside their tents across the area.

The Palestinian Government Media Office (GMO) explained that undercover Israeli soldiers attempted to carry out a security raid in Gaza City, but they were exposed during the operation. This prompted the Israeli occupation army to intervene from the air with more than 10 warplanes of various types, launching a series of intense and heavy strikes on the area.

GMO said the airstrikes resulted in the killing and injury of several citizens in the area.

In a separate incident, a little girl, Israa El‑Hissi, was killed on Tuesday by Israeli gunfire in Dair El‑Bala'h, central Gaza.

Meanwhile, widespread military activity, including shooting incidents, artillery shelling, drone overflights, and demolitions, was reported in other areas of Gaza today.

The fishermen’s union, for its part, said that Israeli naval forces kidnaped 10 fishermen off the shores of El‑Zawayida area in central Gaza and the Shaikh 'Ijleen area southwest of Gaza City.

The fishermen’s union added that the fishermen were taken to Ashdod Port after Israeli gunboats opened fire at their boats.

'Hamas: Israel’s operation in Gaza City “serious ceasefire violation”

The 'Hamas Movement has condemned a Tuesday morning operation by the Israeli occupation army in Gaza City’s Kateeba area as a “grave crime” and a “serious ceasefire violation,” accusing it of showing deliberate disregard for civilian lives.

“The operation was carried out in a densely populated area filled with displaced families and was accompanied by heavy gunfire and airstrikes to provide cover for the infiltrating forces and secure their withdrawal. It resulted in the killing and injury of several civilians,” 'Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday.

'Hamas accused Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu of showing “defiance and arrogance” towards mediating countries, citing Israeli ceasefire violations, continued strikes on civilians, and the ongoing siege of Gaza as evidence of his contempt for international law and mediation efforts.

'Hamas called on the US administration and mediators to take a clear stance against Israel’s crimes against civilians and to act immediately to curb its ceasefire violations in Gaza.

'Hamas: Israeli escalation in Gaza confirms continued genocidal war, disregard for ceasefire

The 'Hamas Movement said the Israeli occupation army’s intensified attacks and crimes across the Gaza Strip since Monday morning represent a systematic escalation by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, confirming Israel’s continued genocidal war against the Palestinian people and its disregard for obligations under the ceasefire agreement.

In a press statement issued Monday, 'Hamas said Israeli attacks included the demolition of a number of Palestinian homes in the southern Gaza Strip, gunfire targeting fishermen off the coast of Gaza City, and attacks on civilians across different areas of the Strip, killing at least five Palestinians and injuring several others.

The Movement said the attacks could no longer be considered isolated violations or separate incidents, but had developed into a systematic policy of aggression and a continuing war carried out in different forms.

'Hamas renewed its call on the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to fulfill their responsibilities regarding Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and take immediate action to pressure the Israeli government to halt its attacks and comply with the internationally brokered agreement.

'Hamas said the Israeli occupation army’s daily attacks and massacres amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, calling for international, UN and popular action to isolate Israel, hold its leaders accountable, and take measures to protect the Palestinian people, who, it said, continue to face the threat of genocide and displacement.

WHO warns of growing health risks in Gaza as winter approaches

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Tuesday of worsening health risks in the Gaza Strip as winter and the rainy season approach, amid difficult living and health conditions facing most of the population.

WHO Representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territory Reinhold Van De Weerdt said water quality and contamination remain a major concern at a time when residents do not have access to even the minimum quantities of water they need.

WHO data showed that microbiological contamination in water nearly tripled between January and August, based on the analysis of more than 6,700 samples. The proportion of contaminated samples rose from less than 6% in January to more than 18% in August.

Van De Weerdt said the increase in contamination was accompanied by a significant rise in cases of acute diarrhea, which increased from around 27,000 in March to more than 48,000 in August.

She warned that the approaching rainy season and winter would further increase health risks, with most of Gaza’s population living in overcrowded displacement camps and makeshift tents while piles of garbage have accumulated to heights of several meters.

Van De Weerdt warned that rainfall could flood displacement camps, spreading sewage, garbage and contaminated water into areas where people sleep, prepare food and care for children, increasing the risk of waterborne diseases.

She added that the coming conditions could also lead to the proliferation of pests, mosquitoes, mold and bacteria at a time when Gaza’s health system is exhausted and unable to adequately respond to disease outbreaks.

IOFs kidnap Palestinians, settlers set fire to mosque in the West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) carried out raids and arrests overnight and on Tuesday morning in the occupied West Bank.

In Nablus, Israeli forces raided an apartment building near El-Kindi School in the city and kidnaped a young man from his home in the Old City’s El‑Qaryoun area.

In the same context, Israeli forces raided several homes during their incursion into the village of Qaryout, south of Nablus, and also stormed the village of Madama further south.

The Israeli forces also raided homes in the villages of Qaryout and Madama.

In Jineen, Israeli forces stormed the villages of El‑Taybeh and 'Aneen to the west of the city, and kidnaped six young men from the town of Rummanah.

In Toulkarm, Israeli forces raided several homes in the neighborhoods of Iktaba and Shuwaika, and kidnaped a citizen after storming his house in the city’s Dthanabah district.

The IOFs also carried out raids in other areas of the West Bank, with no reported arrests.

In a separate incident, settlers set fire to a mosque and scrawled hostile graffiti on its walls during their attack on the village of Bizzariya, northwest of Nablus.

Meanwhile, settler groups stormed the Yarza community east of Tayaseer in eastern Tubas, grazing their livestock near Palestinian homes. 

Palestinian Education Ministry warns of attempts to impose Israeli curriculum on Palestinian Jerusalemite students

The Palestinian Ministry of Education in Ramallah has warned of relentless Israeli attempts to impose the Israeli curriculum on the Palestinian students from grades one through nine in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry also said that several Palestinian teachers and members of educational staff are prevented by Israeli police forces from reaching or entering their schools in the holy city.

“The right of Jerusalem’s students to education and to study their national curriculum is a fundamental right protected by international charters and conventions,” the ministry underscored.

The ministry described the attempts to enforce the Israeli curriculum in Jerusalem as part of a systematic campaign against Palestinian education in Jerusalem.

The ministry highlighted a broader pattern of Israeli restrictions targeting UNRWA schools, the Palestinian national curriculum, and the construction of new educational facilities.

The ministry accused the Israeli occupation regime of seeking to erase the Palestinians’ identity and change the national narrative in the city by controlling their educational institutions.

The ministry called on the international community and its educational and rights institutions to take urgent, effective measures to halt Israel’s targeting of Palestinian education in Jerusalem.

Settler arson attacks target 11 mosques in the West Bank in 2026

The illegal Israeli settlers have escalated their attacks in the occupied West Bank, including against mosques, after setting fire early Tuesday to part of the 'Imaduddeen Zengi Mosque in the village of Bazariya, northwest of Nablus.

Local sources said settlers set fire to a room belonging to the mosque after failing to break into it and burn it completely. They also sprayed racist slogans on its walls.

The attack brings the number of mosques subjected to arson or attempted arson since the start of 2026 to at least 11.

The attacks began with the burning of parts of the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Mosque in the town of Tel, west of Nablus, on February 23, followed by the Mohammed Fayyad Mosque in Duma, south of Nablus, on March 12. The mosque in the village of Jibiya, northwest of Ramallah, was then targeted on May 15.

In June, settlers attempted to set fire to al-Marah Mosque in Dair Dibwan and al-Noor Mosque in Burqa, east of Ramallah. On June 17, the Grand Mosque in Jaljiliya and al-Farouq Mosque in Mazari al-Nubani, north of Ramallah, were also targeted.

In July, settlers targeted al-Taqwa Mosque in al-Tuwani in Masafer Yatta, al-Rahma Mosque in Qusra, south of Nablus, and a mosque in the village of Kour, south of Toulkarm.

The attacks come amid escalating settler assaults on Palestinian villages and residents’ property, alongside growing calls to protect holy sites and hold those responsible for the violations accountable.

Palestinian woman, son injured in settler attack east of Ramallah

A Palestinian woman and her son were injured on Monday evening when the illegal Israeli Jewish settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOFs), attacked the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah.

Sayil Kanaan, head of the village council, said Jewish settlers attacked an agricultural structure east of the village and assaulted a woman in her 50s with clubs and stones, causing bleeding from her head and bruising.

Kanaan added that the settlers also attacked the woman’s 10-year-old son by spraying pepper spray in his face, causing him to suffer breathing difficulties.

He said the settlers also stormed a home in the eastern part of the village, assaulted women and children inside and vandalized its contents. No injuries were reported in that attack.

Kanaan said the IOFs raided the area to protect the settlers and detained several young Palestinian men who were near the home targeted in the attack.

He added that another group of settlers attacked the village from the west and attempted to set fire to a vehicle scrapyard and a livestock shed.

Burqa has been subjected to repeated Jewish settler attacks alongside continuing raids by Israeli occupation forces.

2,256 attacks in July

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the IOFs and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property during July.

The commission said Israeli forces were responsible for 1,458 attacks, while settlers carried out 798 attacks during the same month.

The attacks were concentrated in the Ramallah and El-Beereh governorate, which recorded 260 attacks, followed by Nablus with 247, Jineen with 190, Bait La'hm (Bethlehem) with 185, and El-Khaleel with 170.

The commission said the figures demonstrate clear coordination between Israeli military power and settler attacks, with the Israeli army providing protection, support and an enabling environment that allows the attacks to expand and their consequences to become lasting realities on the ground.

'Hamas: Ben-Gvir’s repeated Aqsa raids mark dangerous escalation in desecration, Judaization

The 'Hamas Movement condemned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s raid into the courtyards of Aqsa Mosque on Monday and his performance of Talmudic rituals in the eastern courtyard opposite the Dome of the Rock, describing the move as a dangerous escalation targeting the Mosque’s identity and seeking to impose new realities at the holy site.

Local reports said Ben-Gvir entered Aqsa under heavy Israeli security protection, while 178 Jewish settlers raided its courtyards during the morning period.

In a statement, Hamas said Ben-Gvir’s repeated raids into Aqsa Mosque and his performance of Talmudic rituals near the Dome of the Rock represent a dangerous escalation in the Israeli government’s policy aimed at desecrating and Judaizing the Mosque.

The Movement warned that Israeli leaders could exploit the period leading up to the upcoming Israeli elections to escalate attacks against Palestinian land, the Palestinian people and holy sites.

'Hamas: Aqsa raid violates Mosque’s sanctity

Hamas said the raid into Aqsa Mosque constitutes a blatant violation of its sanctity and shows disregard for Muslims’ religious sentiments and the Mosque’s sacred status throughout the Muslim world.

It stressed that the Palestinian people and resistance would not stand idly by in the face of the “desecration of holy sites.”

The Movement called on Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem, in 1948 occupied lands and the West Bank to intensify their presence at Aqsa Mosque, support the steadfastness of Jerusalemites and those maintaining a continuous presence at the Mosque, and confront plans aimed at imposing the temporal and spatial division and Judaization of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Hamas also called on Arab and Muslim countries and the international community to fulfill their responsibilities and take urgent action to halt ongoing Israeli violations against Aqsa Mosque and hold Israeli leaders accountable.

Al-Aqsa Mosque raids escalate in 2026

Ben-Gvir’s latest raid comes amid a marked increase in raids and Jewish religious rituals inside Aqsa Mosque during 2026.

Recent reports indicate that such practices have expanded beyond settler raids to include direct and repeated participation by Israeli ministers and officials, amid attempts to impose new realities inside the Mosque.

According to Jerusalem-based sources, Ben-Gvir has raided Aqsa Mosque 19 times since taking office. In recent months, the Mosque’s courtyards have witnessed Jewish prayers and Talmudic rituals, as well as the raising of Israeli flags, prompting Palestinian warnings over attempts to change the longstanding status quo at the holy site.

The developments have taken on additional significance ahead of the Knesset elections scheduled for late October 2026. Political analyses suggest that Aqsa Mosque has increasingly become an issue used by Israel’s right-wing and Religious Zionist movements in electoral competition, amid growing calls within those movements to alter the status quo and impose greater Israeli control over the Mosque.

The latest developments follow large-scale raids into Aqsa compound in July, coinciding with what Israelis call the anniversary of the “destruction of the Temple.”

The raids included Jewish religious rituals and severe restrictions on Muslim worshipers seeking to enter the Mosque, prompting Palestinian warnings that Israel is seeking to entrench the temporal and spatial division of Aqsa Mosque.

For displaced women in Gaza, a washing machine becomes a dream of relief

Khadeeja Abu El-'Araj, 65, sits before a pile of clothes. She soaks one piece in water, scrubs it with her hands, wrings it out and sets it aside before moving on to the next. The same motion is repeated dozens of times until she finishes whatever amount she is able to wash that day.

For nearly three years, Khadeeja has done this task by hand, alongside her responsibilities of supporting her family and managing its daily affairs. There is no washing machine to spare her hours of labor, and the conditions of displacement do not allow piles of clothes to be left for long.

For her, a washing machine is no longer merely a household appliance. It has become a way to ease a daily burden that drains time and energy, especially amid the difficulty of obtaining water and the rising cost of many basic needs.

Hours spent over clothes

The suffering of Siham Shahwan, 28, is not very different, though she faces it with four children, all under the age of 10.

Siham says washing clothes takes her more than three hours every day. She starts by scrubbing and wringing the clothes by hand, then hangs them out and waits for them to dry. As soon as she finishes one load, another begins to pile up.

She says what hurts most is not only the long hours of work, but the fact that the task is repeated every day, while she suffers from back and joint pain caused by prolonged sitting and physical strain.

Siham’s family needs clothes washed constantly because of the four children, but using a laundry service is not an option. Washing her children’s clothes could cost around 20 shekels a day, a sum that is difficult to secure after her husband lost his source of income. Thus, she returns to handwashing, no matter how exhausting it is.

The struggle begins before the washing

Under displacement, the problem of laundry does not begin with the pile of clothes. It begins with the search for water.

The limited amount available to a family is not used only for drinking and cooking. Women also need it to wash clothes, clean living spaces, care for children and maintain a minimum level of hygiene.

With water scarce, laundry becomes a process that requires planning around the available quantity, time and effort. After washing comes wringing, hanging and waiting for the clothes to dry, before the same cycle begins again the next day.

Siham says having a washing machine would ease a large part of this burden and give her time she could use to care for her family or get some rest.

Women facing the collapse of services

Oxfam places these experiences within the wider impact of the collapse of water, sanitation and hygiene services in the Gaza Strip. In a report published in July 2026, the organization drew on interviews with 21 displaced women and girls from different areas of Gaza, documenting how the deterioration of these services has affected women’s health, safety and ability to manage daily life.

The organization notes that the shortage of water does not only affect basic drinking needs, but also extends to care and hygiene tasks, much of which women shoulder within families.

UN Women data shows the scale of the crisis. Around 1.1 million women and girls in Gaza lack access to clean water, while nearly 690,000 women and girls live in overcrowded shelters.

The data also shows that 95% of women-led businesses have closed, increasing economic pressure on families and limiting women’s access to independent income.

These conditions are inseparable from other forms of pressure facing women during displacement. According to an analysis by the UN Population Fund on trends in gender-based violence in Gaza during the first three months of 2026, psychological and emotional abuse accounted for 34% of reported cases, while denial of resources, opportunities and services accounted for 32%.

Hygiene is a basic need

The problem also extends to the personal hygiene needs of women and girls.

In a report published by the UN Population Fund on August 20, 2026, the agency documented a severe shortage of menstrual hygiene supplies, along with inadequate water and sanitation facilities and concerns over privacy, making it harder for women and girls in displacement sites to meet their basic needs.

In this reality, domestic labor becomes part of the humanitarian crisis, not merely an ordinary household responsibility.

Laundry that a washing machine could finish in a short time can, under displacement, turn into hours of manual labor, beginning with securing water and ending only after clothes have been washed, wrung out and hung to dry.

A washing machine as a daily need

For Siham, owning a washing machine would not remove all the burdens of life, but it would mean reclaiming hours from her day.

She says those hours could be spent with her children or used for other tasks, instead of remaining in front of piles of clothes, scrubbing and wringing them by hand.

Siham returns every day to the same task: a pile of clothes waiting, a limited amount of water and long hours of manual labor.

In the life of displacement, a washing machine appears to many women as more than a piece of furniture or a household appliance. It is a way to reduce hours of work, ease physical strain and recover part of the time consumed by daily chores.

As the crisis of water and basic services continues in the Gaza Strip, care and hygiene tasks remain unavoidable, and women are forced to carry them out with whatever resources are available, however limited they may be.

At the end of each day, Siham finishes washing the clothes in front of her, but the task itself does not end. New clothes will pile up, and the next day she will return to water, soap, scrubbing and wringing, in a daily cycle that does not stop.

Israeli violations in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) growing in August

ThePalestinian Jerusalem Governorate documented a continued escalation in Israeli violations during August 2026, including the killing of two Palestinians by Israeli forces, the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by 5,209 Jewish settlers, 83 injuries, 114 arrests, and 40 demolition and land-clearing operations, in addition to dozens of demolition, eviction, and property confiscation notices and orders.

Data from the governorate showed continued Israeli targeting of Palestinians in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), their holy sites, institutions, and land, alongside an expansion of settlement projects and measures aimed at altering the city’s demographic, geographic, and legal reality.

Two Palestinians killed, 83 injured in Israeli attacks

The Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate documented the killing of Khaleel 'Abbas Khaleel El-A'awar and Ahmad Khalil Abbas al-Awar, who succumbed to wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli occupation forces during a raid on the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, on August 23.

The governorate said Israeli forces used excessive force, stun grenades, tear gas, and live ammunition during the incident and prevented local families and community mediators from intervening to contain the dispute, further complicating the situation. More than five Palestinians were injured.

The governorate documented 83 injuries during the month caused by live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets, beatings, vehicle-ramming incidents, burns, and tear gas inhalation, as well as attacks by the illegal Israeli Jewish settlers. The injured included six Palestinian workers who were attempting to enter Jerusalem.

5,209 Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Aqsa Mosque saw an escalation in Jewish settler incursions and Jewish rituals in its courtyards and around its gates during August, under the direct protection of Israeli police.

The Governorate recorded 5,209 settlers storming Aqsa Mosque, in addition to 3,117 people who entered under the category of tourism. August 13 saw one of the highest numbers of incursions, with 751 settlers entering the mosque compound in a single day.

Throughout the month, so-called Temple groups, rabbis, and Israeli political figures continued calling for intensified incursions and an expansion of Jewish rituals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and around its compound.

114 arrests and banishment orders

The Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate documented 114 arrests during August, including five children and one woman, across several areas of the governorate. Those detained included children, former prisoners, students, academics, prominent Jerusalem figures, activists, and residents of Bedouin communities.

The governorate also documented 27 prison sentences, including 24 administrative detention orders, in addition to two house arrest orders and six banishment orders, five of which barred Palestinians from Al-Aqsa Mosque.

40 demolition and land-clearing operations, 86 notices and orders

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime carried out 40 demolition and land-clearing operations during the month. These included 14 self-demolitions in which Palestinians were forced to demolish their own homes and structures, 23 demolitions carried out by Israeli machinery, and three land-clearing operations.

The governorate also documented 86 notices and orders, including 78 related to demolition, stop-work, and construction orders, three eviction orders, and five property confiscation orders.

Holy sites, schools, and institutions targeted

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) witnessed attacks during August targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites, educational, national, and international institutions, as well as freedom of worship and journalistic work.

The Governorate documented an attack on the Armenian Church in the Old City, while Israeli authorities allowed Jewish prayer books to be brought into Al-Aqsa Mosque and organized Jewish prayers to be performed inside the compound.

Israeli Knesset member Zvi Sukkot also stormed Nour al-Huda School in Ras Shehadeh and placed signs calling for its closure.

Israeli occupation authorities converted a UNRWA school building in the Shuafat refugee camp into a school affiliated with the Israeli Education Ministry and the Israeli-run Jerusalem municipality.

Israeli forces also raided UNRWA’s Qalandia Vocational Training Center in Kafr Aqab, evacuated agency employees, detained those present, and raised the Israeli flag at the facility.

Qalandia refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab were subjected to an Israeli military assault between August 4 and 7, during which civilian and national institutions were targeted and buildings were seized and converted into military positions and detention and interrogation centers.

13 illegal settlement plans and projects

The Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate documented 13 settlement plans, projects, and activities during August, including zoning plans, settlement projects, the establishment of outposts, road construction, and land-related measures.

The governorate said four plans were deposited for the construction of 1,240 settlement housing units across 78.721 dunams, while two settlement plans covering 108.402 dunams were approved without the construction of new settlement housing units.

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007.
