Lebanese health ministry: 56 killed in 24 hours by 'Israel'

Al-Mayadeen, May 28, 2026

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 56 Lebanese citizens were killed and 103 were wounded in 24 hours of Israeli strikes, as attacks continue across southern and eastern Lebanon despite a declared ceasefire.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health said 56 people were martyred and 103 others wounded in Israeli strikes across Lebanon over the past 24 hours.

The Ministry added that the death toll since March 2 has risen to 3,269, with 9,840 injured as attacks continue across the country.

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of intense airstrikes on Wednesday, striking multiple locations across southern Lebanon and the Biqaa' region, as the Israeli occupation forces issued a displacement threat for the entirety of South Lebanon.

Two people were martyred in an initial toll after Israeli occupation warplanes targeted a residential apartment in the Qiyaa area of Sidon in southern Lebanon, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.

These displacement threats constitute a violation of international law, particularly international humanitarian law, which prohibits the mass forcible transfer of civilians and collective punishment during wars.

Continued violations of Lebanon ceasefire

Since this morning, Israeli artillery has shelled several towns in El-Nabatiyeh district, including Shoukeen, Maifadoun, Yo'hmor El-Shaqeef, and Kfar Tibneet, Al-Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon reported. Artillery fire also targeted the town of El-'Hinniyeh in the Soor (Tyre) district.

Additionally, Israeli occupation warplanes launched airstrikes on the towns of Sureefa, Barish, Toura, Zawtar El-Gharbiyah, and Dair Qanoun El-Nahr, all located in southern Lebanon.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out artillery strikes on the towns of El-Mansouri in the Soor (Tyre) district and Kfar Rouman in El-Nabatiyeh district.

The attacks mark the latest violations of the ceasefire agreement brokered with Lebanon, which took effect on April 17. "Israel" continues to assault civilian towns and villages, contravening the terms of the truce.

The agency reported that six people were killed, including children, in a massacre after a vehicle was struck on the 'Adloun highway.

In a separate incident, three people were killed and five others injured when an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential apartment in the Qaya’a area of Sidon Saida.

Additional strikes reportedly targeted camps in El-Rashidiyeh and Al-Bass.

The latest casualties add to the broader toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon. According to figures published by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the total number of people killed since March 2 has reached 3,269, while 9,840 others have been injured.

IOFs issue threat for whole South Lebanon

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of intense airstrikes on Wednesday, striking multiple locations across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region, as the Israeli occupation forces issued a displacement threat for the entirety of South Lebanon.

The displacement threat constitutes a violation of international law, particularly international humanitarian law, which prohibits the mass forcible transfer of civilians and collective punishment during wars.

Israeli airstrikes hit several towns, including Qusaybeh, Houmeen El-Fawqa, Jarjou', 'Haddatha, Yatter, El-Qa'qaiyat El-Jisr, and Kfar Houna, along with Kfar Joaz, Muleekh, and al-Luwaizeh in the south. The heights of 'Ali El-Tahir were also repeatedly targeted.

Israeli MoH reports 24 new casualties on Lebanese front

Al-Mayadeen, May 27, 2026

The Israeli Health Ministry says 24 new injuries were recorded on the Lebanese front, as the total number of casualties since the escalation with Lebanon and Iran continues to rise.

The Israeli Health Ministry announced on Monday that 24 new injuries were recorded on the Lebanese front, as fighting and resistance operations continue in southern Lebanon.

According to the ministry, the total number of injuries recorded since the start of the war on Iran has risen to 8,889.

Nearly 1,000 Injuries on Lebanese Front

The ministry stated that 988 casualties have been reported on the Lebanese front alone since the ceasefire with Iran on April 8.

It also reported that 573 injuries have been admitted to Israeli hospitals since the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon took effect on April 17.

The figures continue to rise amid ongoing operations carried out by Hezbollah against Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon, in response to repeated Israeli attacks, occupation, and continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

'Hizbullah's new operational strategy

Earlier, the Israeli Amit Institute for Information and Intelligence revealed that Hezbollah had begun implementing what it described as a “new operational strategy” focused on targeting Israeli army commanders operating in southern Lebanon and along the northern border.

The report reflects growing Israeli concern over the effectiveness and evolving nature of Hezbollah’s battlefield tactics as the confrontation on the Lebanese front intensifies.

Since dawn on Tuesday, Resistance fighters have been engaged in intense and sustained confrontations on the outskirts of the town, repelling repeated attempts by Israeli occupation forces to advance. According to field reports, the confrontations began following heavy Israeli preparatory fire, including intensive airstrikes and artillery shelling across the area.

As the troops tried to advance, Resistance fighters confronted them with coordinated rocket fire, artillery shells, and drone operations, in addition to engaging them in close-quarters combat. The confrontations inflicted heavy losses on Israeli personnel and equipment, as Resistance units maintained defensive positions and continued confrontations throughout the night.
