'Hamas calls for holding Israeli leaders accountable for assaults against GSF activists
Saturday 2-May-2026
GAZA, (PIC)
The 'Hamas Resistance Movement has condemned the Israeli occupation forces for maltreating and assaulting activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) before releasing them, saying what happened to them was further evidence of “the scale of crimes and the moral degradation of the fascist Israeli entity.”
In a statement on Saturday, 'Hamas expressed its belief that what happened to GSF activists was a futile attempt to intimidate them and deter them from continuing their humanitarian mission in support of the besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
'Hamas called on human rights groups worldwide to document Israel’s brutal violations against GSF activists, as a prelude to pursuing legal action at competent international courts.
The Movement stressed the need to hold Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes against GSF activists and ensure they do not escape punishment.
'Hamas reiterated its pride in the activists for their determination to continue their humanitarian efforts to break the siege on Gaza, despite Israeli threats.

Spain calls for suspension of EU-Israel partnership after attack on Sumud Flotilla
Friday 1-May-2026
MADRID, (PIC)
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Thursday called on the European Union to immediately suspend its partnership agreement with Israel following the attack on the “Global Sumud Flotilla.”
In a post on X, Sánchez said Israel had “once again violated international law” by targeting a civilian flotilla in international waters.
He said that his government was working to protect and assist the Spanish citizens being detained but stressed that this alone was not enough. He urged the European Union to suspend the partnership agreement and demand that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu respect international maritime law.
The EU-Israel Association Agreement serves as the legal framework governing relations between the two sides. Signed in Brussels on November 20, 1995, and entering into force in June 2000, the agreement aims to establish a gradual free trade area and strengthen economic, scientific, and technological cooperation while also providing a framework for political dialogue.
Article 2 of the agreement states that relations between the parties are based on respect for human rights and democratic principles, which are considered an essential element of the partnership.
Meanwhile, the “Spring 2026 Mission” organized by the “Global Solidarity Flotilla” departed from the Italian island of Sicily last Sunday to break the Israeli blockade imposed on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid.
On Wednesday evening, boats participating in the mission were reportedly attacked by the Israeli military in international waters off the coast of Crete. Twenty-one boats were detained, while 17 managed to reach Greek territorial waters, and 14 others continue sailing.
According to flotilla organizers, the mission includes 345 participants from 39 countries, including Turkish citizens, as part of an ongoing civilian initiative launched in 2025 to challenge the blockade on Gaza.
The latest attempt follows a previous mission in September 2025 that ended with a similar attack in October 2025 and the arrest of hundreds of activists.
The Gaza Strip has been under Israeli blockade since 2007, with approximately 1.5 million Palestinians facing severe humanitarian conditions after losing their homes during the Israeli genocidal war on the enclave that started in October 2023.
The two-year war has resulted in the killing of more than 72,000 people and injuries to over 172,000 Palestinians, in addition to widespread destruction of infrastructure, including healthcare facilities.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened amid severe restrictions on the entry of fuel and medical supplies, leading to critical shortages of medicines and essential equipment.

Widespread international condemnation of Israel’s attack on Global Sumud Flotilla
Thursday 30-April-2026
GAZA, (PIC)
The foreign ministers of Jordan, Spain, Pakistan, Brazil, Bangladesh, Türkiye, South Africa, Colombia, Libya, Maldives, and Malaysia have condemned Israel’s attack on the “Global Sumud Flotilla” for the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement, the ministers said that targeting the vessels and detaining humanitarian activists in international waters constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
They also expressed deep concern for the safety of the civilian activists and called on Israeli authorities to take immediate steps to ensure their release.
The statement further urged the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities to protect civilians, safeguard the rules of international law, and ensure accountability for those responsible for these violations.
The condemnation comes amid growing international calls to guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, alongside continued warnings about the worsening humanitarian crisis.
The “Global Sumud Flotilla” is a civilian initiative launched in 2025, with participation from civil society organizations, activists, and volunteers from multiple countries, aimed at breaking the blockade on Gaza and delivering humanitarian assistance.
The flotilla’s vessels departed from the city of Barcelona on April 12 before arriving in Sicily on April 23, where additional ships and activists from Italy later joined through the cities of Syracuse and Augusta.
This latest mission comes as the second of its kind following the September 2025 flotilla attempt, which ended when Israeli forces intercepted the vessels in international waters in October of the same year and detained hundreds of activists before deporting them.

For the 204th day, Israeli ceasefire violations escalate in Gaza
Friday 1-May-2026
GAZA, (PIC)
Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip have continued for the 204th consecutive day on Friday, amid ongoing artillery shelling and gunfire targeting various areas across the territory.
Artillery strikes repeatedly targeted areas northwest of Rafa'h since the early hours of dawn, while shelling overnight struck east of the El-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City and east of Jabalya in northern Gaza, alongside heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles.
In the same context, four Palestinians were killed on Thursday, and others were injured in Israeli gunfire and airstrikes in several areas.
According to figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the total number of people killed since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, 2025, has reached approximately 824, in addition to 2,316 injured and 764 recovered bodies.
The cumulative death toll since the beginning of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023, has meanwhile risen to 72,601 killed while 172,419 others were injured.

Gaza faces daily shortfall of 170,000 bread bundles amid warnings of worsening supply crisis
Friday 1-May-2026
GAZA, (PIC)
The Palestinian Ministry of Economy in Gaza has warned of a severe and escalating bread shortage, revealing a daily deficit of around 170,000 bread bundles as the territory grapples with deepening humanitarian and economic strain.
Deputy Economy Minister, Hasan Abu Riyala, said the population requires approximately 300,000 bread bundles per day, while only 130,000 are currently being produced and distributedæ highlighting a critical gap in access to one of the most basic food staples.
He stressed that ministry teams are working around the clock to stabilize food security and prevent market panic, with monitoring units deployed across Gaza to control prices and prevent exploitation.
The crisis extends beyond bread, with acute shortages also reported in motor oils and A4 paper, reflecting a broader collapse in supply chains and essential goods availability. Abu Riyala noted that the ministry is implementing a weekly plan in coordination with partners, including publishing price guidelines twice a week to curb manipulation and maintain some level of market stability.
He added that more than 90 percent of Gaza’s factories have been destroyed during the war, leading to a near-total collapse in domestic production and increasing reliance on imports to meet basic needs.
Current efforts, he said, are focused on directing traders to prioritize importing essential goods in an attempt to mitigate the crisis and ease pressure on residents facing mounting food insecurity.

***ý Palestinians injured in West Bank attacks by the Israeli occupation forces and illegal settlers
Saturday 2-May-2026
WEST BANK, (PIC)
Palestinian citizens were injured and agricultural property was damaged on Saturday in attacks by the Israeli occupation forces and the illegal Israeli settler groups in different areas of the occupied West Bank.
The Red Crescent said its crews in El-Khaleel (Hebron) provided first aid for three wounded citizens, including a 71‑year‑old woman in Jabel Jalis, before transporting them to the hospital. Settlers also attacked farmlands in al-Khalil, destroying property and uprooting dozens of trees.
In southern al-Khalil, a settler opened fire at Palestinian citizens in the village of El‑Tabaqa. Luckily, no one was hurt in the shooting attack. Local sources said the armed settler, from the illegal Israeli settlement of Hagai, targeted the al‑Abed area of the village.
Local sources reported further assaults in Masafir Yatta, south of al-Khalil, targeting swaths of agricultural land in the hamlet of Khirbet Rujoum El-'Ali.
Under army protection, settlers released their livestock into olive groves in Khirbet Rujoum El-'Ali, damaging and uprooting about 30 trees belonging to Ma'hmoud El‑'Adthra. Meanwhile, a Red Crescent crew in Salfeet administered first aid to three wounded people after settlers attacked them in the town of Jalud.
Settlers also attacked poultry farms in Qusra, south of Nablus. The town’s mayor, 'Abdul-Adtheem Wadi, said residents confronted and clashed with the attackers before Israeli forces stormed the area and fired tear gas to protect the settlers.
In another incident, the illegal Israeli settlers stormed the 'Hamroush area of Sa’ir town, northeast of El-Khaleel, releasing sheep into farmland and destroying large areas of crops. In the northern Jordan Valley, a Palestinian child was injured in a settler attack in Khirbet El‑Hadeediya.
Local activist 'Aarif Daraghmeh said a horde of settlers stormed the hamlet and attacked residents with pepper spray, injuring a child and spreading panic among residents. Elsewhere, settlers attacked the Bedouin community of 'Arab El‑Ka'abneh north of Aree'ha (Jericho), throwing stones at homes and damaging quantities of hay, according to the Al‑Baidar Human Rights Organization.

Despite the Israeli restrictions, thousands of Palestinian Muslim worshipers perform Friday prayer at El-Aqsa Mosque, in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)
Friday, May 1, 2026
El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)
Tens of thousands of worshipers performed Friday prayer at El-Aqsa Mosque despite measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces at military checkpoints, throughout the streets of El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), and around the Old City and the Mosque compound.
According to media sources, the Israeli occupation apartheid regime police forces were heavily deployed across El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), setting up metal barriers at the gates of the Old City and El-Aqsa Mosque. Young men were stopped, their IDs checked, and some were detained.
The sources added that Israeli occupation forces stopped young Palestinians in Al-Wad Street in the Old City, checked their identification cards, forced them to leave the area, and prevented them from reaching El-Aqsa Mosque.
Since the early morning hours, Palestinians from the 1948-occupied territories have traveled to Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers and maintain religious presence in its courtyards, responding to calls for increased attendance and efforts to confront plans aimed at Judaization and division of the site.
Buses departed from towns and cities in the 1948-occupied territories, carrying dozens of elderly people and women to participate in prayers and remain at the Mosque compound.
The mobilization followed calls issued Thursday by Jerusalem-based activists and Palestinian groups urging residents of El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) and Palestinians from the 1948-occupied territories to travel to El-Aqsa Mosque and maintain a strong presence there, affirming its Islamic identity and rejecting plans targeting the site.
These developments come amid escalating Israeli measures against the Mosque, including repeated the illegal Israeli settler incursions and restrictions on worshipers’ access, in what Palestinians say are attempts to impose a new reality at the holy site.
The calls emphasized the importance of mass attendance and steadfast presence, particularly on Fridays, as a clear message rejecting any efforts to alter the religious and historical character of the Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap two Palestinians from Tulkarem, raid other W. Bank areas
Saturday 2-May-2026
WEST BANK, (PIC)
The Israeli occupation army’s military operations in the northern West Bank entered day 460 in Toulkarm City and its refugee camp and day 448 in Nour Shams refugee camp on Saturday.
Local sources reported that at dawn, Israeli forces raided several apartments inside the Abu Samin building near Nour Shams camp, east of Toulkarm, and kidnapped former prisoner Hazem al‑Ajouz.
The forces also kidnaped Niyaz Jabir, the father of martyr Jihad Jabir, after storming his home near Nour Shams camp.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops raided the El‑Aqsa neighborhood in Toulkarm’s Shuwaika suburb, as well as the town of 'Anabta east of the city.
Amid the ongoing Israeli campaign in Toulkarm, thousands of citizens, who have been forcibly displaced from Toulkarm and Nour Shams camps, continue to endure harsh living conditions and are unable to return to their homes.
At the end of last March, the Israeli army decided to extend its campaign in Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps until May 31, 2026.
Also at dawn, the Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) launched raids in different areas of the West Bank and El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).
Local sources reported that the forces stormed El-Duhaisha refugee camp and the towns of Teqoa and El‑Khadhir southeast of Bethlehem, sparking clashes with Palestinian youths at the camp’s entrance.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces raided the El‑Bayadir neighborhood in Jenin and fired tear gas at youths.
The IOFs raids also targeted the town of Dair Jareer in Ramallah and the town of Bait Ummar in El-Khaleel, as well as Qalandya refugee camp and Kafr 'Iqab town north of El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), where Israeli forces closed several businesses and obstructed residents’ movement.
Israeli forces also stormed the town of Sa’ir north of El-Khaleel with several military vehicles, and later withdrew from Silwad town east of Ramallah after conducting search and raid operations.

Illegal Israeli settler assault on a French Christian nun, in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), sparks widespread outrage
Friday 1-May-2026
El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)
A wave of outrage erupted across social media platforms in France after footage circulated showing a violent assault carried out by an illegal Israeli settler against a French Christian nun in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).
The incident quickly became a matter of public debate, dominating discussions in France and across Europe amid strong condemnations and growing questions about the motives behind the attack, the limits of accountability, and whether it reflects a broader pattern of violence rather than an isolated incident.
Father Olivier-Thomas Venard, director of the French Biblical and Archaeological School of Jerusalem, confirmed that a nun and researcher affiliated with the institution had been subjected to an unprovoked assault near the Upper Room area in the city.
He condemned what he described as sectarian violence and called on authorities to act swiftly and firmly to hold those responsible accountable, stressing that confronting hatred is a shared challenge requiring a collective response.
The French Consulate in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) also condemned the assault, expressing wishes for the victim’s speedy recovery and affirming that it is closely monitoring developments in her condition. The consulate emphasized the need to bring the attacker to justice and ensure accountability.
In the same context, Israeli journalist Yair Navot said the incident reflects a broader pattern of attacks targeting Christian clergy in Occupied Jerusalem’s Old City, including repeated harassment and various forms of violence. He expressed shock at the brutality shown in the footage, questioning the motives behind attacking, pushing down, and kicking a nun.
Journalist Yossi Eli likewise described the incident as an expression of hateful anti-Christian sentiment, noting that the victim works as a lecturer at the French Biblical and Archaeological School and is also affiliated with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He added that the suspect’s arrest came only after growing media coverage highlighted the seriousness of such assaults.
In France, European Parliament member Nathalie Loiseau described the attack as cowardly, noting that it was carried out from behind before the victim was thrown to the ground and kicked. She questioned the motive for targeting a religious figure who posed no threat, emphasizing the moral and humanitarian dimensions of the assault.
Journalist Charles Enderlin linked the incident to a broader rise in anti-Christian attacks, noting that the victim had been hospitalized and the attacker detained, framing the assault within a wider pattern of escalating hostility.
A French activist also argued that the incident cannot be treated as isolated, but rather as a symptom of a deeper problem, raising questions about what he described as double standards in reactions to assaults depending on the identity of the perpetrator.
Similarly, researcher Lauriane Lavon Graff said the attack reflects the growing influence of extremist religious currents targeting both Christians and Muslims alike, stressing that the incident is not an exception but part of a daily reality faced by Jerusalem residents.
Taken together, these reactions reveal an overlap between moral condemnation and political analysis, with the incident viewed not merely as an isolated attack, but as an indicator of broader challenges related to violence, extremism, and the limits of legal accountability.

An illegal Israeli settler assaults a Christian nun in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) sparks widespread outrage
Friday 1-May-2026
El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)
A video circulating online has documented a violent assault by an illegal Israeli settler on a Christian nun in occupied Jerusalem, triggering widespread anger and condemnation. The nun was injured in the attack, sustaining facial wounds after being assaulted by an extremist settler in the city.
In response, the French Consulate in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) strongly condemned the incident, calling for the perpetrator to be held accountable. In a statement posted on X, the consulate expressed its wishes for the nun’s speedy recovery and stressed the need to bring the attacker to justice.
The statement came in reaction to remarks by Olivier-Thomas Venard, director of the French Biblical and Archaeological School in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), who denounced what he described as an “unprovoked assault.”
Speaking to Agence France-Presse, Venard said the 48-year-old nun, who works as a researcher at the French institution and prefers to remain anonymous, was attacked when an individual forcefully pushed her from behind into a rock, then proceeded to kick her while she was on the ground.
The footage of the assault quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread outrage and condemnation over the level of violence involved. The incident comes amid a pattern of similar acts targeting religious figures and sites. In a recent case, two Israeli soldiers were withdrawn from service after destroying a statue of Jesus in a village in southern Lebanon, an act that also drew international condemnation.
A European diplomatic source in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) noted that the attack on the nun is part of a recurring pattern of hostility toward Christians, adding that clergy members are subjected to daily verbal abuse and harassment.
Hundreds of priests and nuns serve in churches and religious institutions across East Jerusalem, where church leaders have repeatedly called on Israeli authorities to take decisive action to halt such attacks.
The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs confirmed that it has contacted international church leaders to urge their governments to pressure for the protection of Islamic and Christian holy sites in El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).
Data indicates that attacks on churches and clergy in the city have been ongoing since 1967, with a notable escalation in recent years, particularly between 2023 and 2025.

Illegal Israeli settler attacks surge in Masafir Yatta, targeting land, livelihoods, and sacred sites
Friday 1-May-2026
AL-KHALEEL, (PIC)
Illegal Israeli settler violence has intensified in the Masafir Yatta area south of al-Khalil, with a series of coordinated attacks targeting Palestinian property, farmland, and religious sites, reflecting a broader escalation across the West Bank.
According to local sources, armed settlers raided areas in Masafir Yatta on Friday, stealing a tent and agricultural equipment belonging to a Palestinian resident, Fareed Abu 'Ali, in Wadi El-Jawaya. The attackers reportedly dismantled the structure before seizing it, along with other farming tools.
In a separate incident in the Huwwara area, an armed settler blocked farmer 'Aadil 'Hammamda and his family from reaching their land, preventing them from harvesting crops and threatening them with forced displacement.
Similar attacks were reported in the village of El-Burj, southwest of El-Khaleel, where settlers released their cattle onto Palestinian farmland after denying landowners access to their fields.
The escalation also extended to religious provocation. On Thursday evening, settlers raised the Israeli flag atop the minaret of a mosque in the El-Rifa'iya area east of Yatta, in an act widely condemned by residents.
Activist Osama Makhamra said settlers also placed flags along a nearby bypass road linking El-Dairat and El-Rifa'iya.
These incidents come amid a sharp rise in settler violence. Data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that more than 1,800 attacks have been recorded since March and early April 2026, while 1,819 violations were documented in March alone.
The pattern of attacks, ranging from land seizures and intimidation to religious desecration, highlights an intensifying campaign targeting Palestinian communities and their livelihoods, often carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

WHO presses for medical supplies into Gaza
Saturday 2-May-2026
GAZA, (PIC)
The World Health Organization (WHO) has urged that medicines and essential supplies be allowed into the besieged Gaza Strip without delay, to begin rebuilding health services on a wide scale.
This came in a post by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on X, commenting on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, which has been under Israeli blockade for nearly two decades, tightened further in the past three years. Ghebreyesus explained that the organization supported the establishment of a new family health center in northern Gaza, where medical services are extremely limited and large segments of the population cannot access them.
He noted that the center helps deliver health services directly to citizens, stressing that health needs across Gaza are immense. Ghebreyesus called for medicines and essential supplies to be allowed into the Strip without delay, to begin rebuilding health services on a wide scale. He emphasized the need to remove bureaucratic barriers imposed on essential medicines and lift restrictions on access to Gaza.
Israel has imposed a blockade on Gaza since 2007. Around 1.5 million Palestinians out of the Strip’s 2.4 million residents have been left homeless after their homes were destroyed in the genocide war.
A ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of genocide launched by Israel on October 7, 2023, with US support, which left more than 72,000 Palestinians killed and over 172,000 injured.
Despite this, Israel continues the genocide through daily bombardment and blockade, resulting in more deaths and injuries, while preventing sufficient quantities of food, medicines, medical supplies, and shelter materials from entering Gaza, where 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million displaced, live in catastrophic conditions.

'Hamas calls on mediators to take decisive action, says Israel continues escalation in Gaza
Friday 1-May-2026
GAZA, (PIC)
The 'Hamas Movement announced its full commitment, alongside other Palestinian resistance factions, to all provisions of the Sharm El-Shaikh ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including the scheduled handover of prisoners and bodies according to the agreed timetable, despite the challenges caused by the massive destruction across the territory.
In a statement issued Friday, the Movement said the Israeli government had failed to uphold its commitments and continued military operations under the cover of the agreement. 'Hamas said that the daily violations, including attacks targeting civilians, among them women and children, reflect an ongoing escalation.
The Movement added that the tightening siege and starvation policies, along with the continued closure of the Rafa'h crossing or its limited opening and the westward movement of the so-called “yellow line” in several areas, indicate that the government of Benjamin Netanyahu is evading its obligations and undermining mediation efforts.
'Hamas further said that the continuation of these violations despite the signing of the agreement amounts to an extension of the war on the Gaza Strip and deepens an already severe humanitarian and legal crisis affecting more than two million Palestinians living under siege and harsh conditions.
The Movement called on mediators and guarantor states to take a clear and firm position regarding these violations and to work toward ensuring implementation of the agreement’s terms in a way that compels the Israeli government to honor its commitments and puts an end to the escalation and humanitarian suffering in Gaza.

Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.
