*** The Ongoing Israeli Aggression on Lebanon Results in the Killing of 886, Injuring 2,141, and Displacement of More than One Million People, by March 16, 2026 250 Lebanese People Massacred, 1,150 Injured by Israeli Airstrikes, on More than 100 sites, Within 10 Minutes, Across Lebanon, in Blatant Violation of the Ceasefire and International Law April 8, 2026 ***
Massive Israeli bombardment kills 254 and wounds 1,150 across Lebanon Al-Mayadeen net, April 9, 2026 Over 250 people were martyred and more than 1,150 wounded in Israeli airstrikes targeting Beirut, the South, the Biqaa' Valley, and Mount Lebanon on Wednesday, amid ongoing violations of the declared ceasefire. The Israeli occupation has intensified its large-scale aggression against Lebanon, carrying out a series of coordinated airstrikes that have left more than 250 people martyred and over 1,150 others wounded on Wednesday, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Approximately 150 airstrikes were carried out across Lebanon within just two hours, highlighting the scale and intensity of the attacks that targeted several regions across the country, including the capital Beirut, its southern suburbs, southern Lebanon, the Biqaa' Valley, and Mount Lebanon, with residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure bearing the brunt of the bombardment. The Lebanese Civil Defense announced that a total of 254 people were martyred and 1,165 others were injured in Wednesday’s attacks. In Beirut alone, 92 people were killed and 742 wounded, while the Southern Suburb accounted for 61 martyrs and 200 injuries. In the Ba'albek and Hirmil regions, 18 and 9 people were killed, respectively, with dozens more injured. Other areas also suffered heavily, with 28 people killed and 59 wounded in El-Nabatiyeh, 17 martyrs and 6 injuries in Alay, 12 martyrs and 56 injured in Sayda (Sidon), and 17 martyrs and 68 wounded in Soor (Tyre). Shortly after midnight on Thursday, an Israeli warplane launched a violent airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, part of a continued wave of raids striking densely populated areas. The attack caused further destruction and added to the already mounting casualty toll. Medical teams and emergency services are reportedly struggling to cope with the destruction as hospitals face increasing pressure amid the ongoing bombardment. The bombings followed earlier announcements of an immediate ceasefire agreement that was expected to include Lebanon. However, the Israeli occupation violated the ceasefire and continued its attacks, carrying out widespread bombings that amount to massacres against civilians. The aggression targeted homes, buildings, and infrastructure across multiple regions, contributing to a sharp rise in casualties and widespread destruction. The continued bombardment reflects a clear violation of ceasefire efforts and underscores a deliberate escalation policy. 'Hizbullah condemns attacks, vows response 'Hizbullah condemned the Israeli massacres, stressing that the blood of the victims “will not be in vain.” "With its blind hatred, habitual criminality, and boundless brutality, now an entrenched characteristic of its nature, the Israeli enemy today carried out a series of roaming massacres against safe civilian populations," the statement stressed. The resistance affirmed that these crimes will not go unanswered, reiterating its commitment to defending Lebanon and confronting ongoing aggression. Lebanese political voices have warned against attempts to restrict the role of the resistance, stressing that preventing it from defending the country would violate constitutional principles. MP Juradi to Al-Mayadeen: We will remain the last stronghold of humanity Lebanese MP Elias Juradi told Al-Mayadeen on Wednesday that “the Lebanese government preventing the people from defending themselves and resisting the enemy is a crime against humanity.” Juradi held the “world silent on the crimes of the enemy of humanity” responsible for "Israel’s" aggression against Lebanon, expressing surprise at the “suspicious official Lebanese silence” in the face of the brutality of the attacks and the government’s prevention of the people from resisting the enemy. “We will hold the current authority accountable for preventing resistance against the enemy,” he said, adding that “the Lebanese government violated the constitution by preventing resistance against the enemy and occupier." Regarding official statements condemning the Israeli attacks, the Lebanese MP described them as “absolutely insufficient", emphasizing that “the Lebanese society is united against the aggression carried out by the enemy of humanity. "We will remain the last stronghold of humanity, and we will prevail over this evil," he concluded. Calls are growing for legal action in response to internal pressures that seek to weaken Lebanon’s defensive capabilities amid ongoing Israeli attacks. The continued Israeli aggression, coupled with the mounting toll of martyrs, underscores a rapidly deteriorating situation in Lebanon. 3 key clauses of ceasefire breached before talks even began: Ghalibaf Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mu'hammed Baghir Ghalibaf, strongly criticized the violations of the Islamic Republic’s 10-point proposal, also known as the Agreed Framework, even before negotiations had formally begun. Ghalibaf emphasized the historical mistrust Tehran holds toward the United States, noting that it “stems from its repeated violations of all forms of commitments, a pattern that has regrettably been repeated once again.” He highlighted that the proposal, which the US president has called a “workable basis on which to negotiate,” has already been breached in three significant areas: Ceasefire in Lebanon – The first clause of the proposal, which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan also explicitly referenced, calls for “an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and other regions, effective immediately.” Ghalibaf noted this commitment has not been honored. Violation of Iranian Airspace – An intruding drone entered Iranian airspace and was subsequently destroyed in Lar, Fars Province, in direct contravention of the clause prohibiting such violations. Right to Nuclear Enrichment – Iran’s entitlement to enrichment, included in the sixth clause of the framework, has been denied. 'Any attack on Hezbollah is an attack on Iran': IRGC chief Additionally, the IRGC condemned the brutal Israeli aggression on Lebanon and asserted that "Israel" is targeting civilians, including women and children, and warned of an impending response. The statement said, "We issue a severe warning to America, the violator of agreements, and its Israeli executioner partner: if the attacks on dear Lebanon do not stop immediately, we will fulfill our duty and deliver a response that will make the evil aggressors in the region regret their actions." In the same context, Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Force, said, "Any attack on the proud Hezbollah is an attack on Iran." He also said that the battlefield is currently preparing for "a crushing response to the monstrous crimes of the Israeli entity." Massive Israeli bombardment kills 254 and wounds 1,150 across Lebanon | Al Mayadeen English *** ýLebanon: The toll of the Israeli occupation regime's aggression yesterday rose to 203 martyrs, including 4 army soldiers and more than a thousand woundedý ýAl-Mayadeen net, April 8, 2026 Lebanese Minister of Health Rakan Nasiruddeen announces that the initial toll of the victims of the Israeli aggression yesterday reached 203 martyrs and more than 1000 wounded, and the Lebanese army also announces the martyrdom of 4 of its members.ý ýLebanese Minister of Health Rakan Nasiruddeen announced on Thursday, ahead of his entry into the Cabinet session, that the initial toll of the victims of the Israeli aggression yesterday has risen to 203 martyrs and more than 1000 wounded.ý ýIn this context, the Lebanese Army, in a statement, announced the martyrdom of 4 soldiers in the Israeli aggression on Lebanon yesterday.ý ýYesterday, the Israeli occupation committed massacres against innocent civilians in various areas of Lebanon, which led to the martyrdom and injury of hundreds, constituted an integrated war crime, and a clear violation of international laws. This came after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Iran and the United States, along with their allies, had agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon, to take effect immediately, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the proposed ceasefire does not include Lebanon, escalating its massacres in the country.ý *** Hundreds of casualties as Israel bombs over 100 sites in Lebanon without warning Wednesday 8-April-2026 BEIRUT, (PIC) Hundreds of people were feared dead and injured Wednesday when the Israeli occupation army struck more than 100 sites “within 10 minutes” across Lebanon, including crowded commercial and residential areas in Beirut. The massive attacks, which disregarded the US-Iran ceasefire, were described by the Israeli army as the “largest” coordinated strike since the start of its current offensive against Lebanon. An Israeli military statement claimed the attacks targeted Hezbollah-linked sites in Beirut, the Biqaa' Valley, and southern Lebanon. Israel’s Channel 12 said one of the targets in Wednesday’s attacks was 'Hizbullah leader Na'eem Qasim. Residents and local officials denied that the buildings hit were military sites, saying several strikes hit busy commercial and residential areas, sparking panic in the streets. Black smoke rose over several parts of the capital as explosions shattered the afternoon bustle. Ambulances rushed toward bombed areas, apartment buildings were hit, and emergency crews started searching through rubble and charred vehicles. Casualty figures were not immediately clear, but the Lebanese Red Cross said the number of casualties was “very big.” Hundreds have been killed and wounded in the strikes, according to the health ministry, which have leveled entire residential blocks across Beirut and its southern suburbs, southern Lebanon, and several towns and villages in the eastern Biqaa' region. Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that at least five neighborhoods in central and coastal Beirut were struck. Social affairs minister Haneen Sa’eed condemned the wide-ranging strikes as a “very dangerous turning point,” noting that half of the displaced population in Beirut lived in the bombed areas. Georges Kettaneh, secretary general of the Lebanese Red Cross, described the situation as “catastrophic,” with many victims still trapped under rubble and entire buildings collapsed in multiple areas, according to the local MTV television channel. He added that patients are being evacuated from hospitals in Beirut to facilities outside the capital to make room for casualties from the last strikes. Hospitals across the country have been overwhelmed, with the health ministry issuing urgent appeals for blood donations. “Hospitals are packed beyond capacity with victims,” health minister Rakan Nasiruddeen said. The assault came despite an announced two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran, which Israel said does not apply to Lebanon. Earlier in the day, some displaced Lebanese families had begun packing their belongings and preparing to return home after news of the truce, but the renewed strikes, coupled with Israeli statements that operations would continue, left many confused and in fear. *** Israel continues to attack Lebanon as Netanyahu rejects including it in ceasefire with Tehran Wednesday 8-April-2026 BEIRUT, (PIC) Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on Lebanon on Wednesday, in what appeared to be an attempt to confirm Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks about excluding Lebanon from the temporary ceasefire agreement with Tehran. According to the National News Agency, an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in the Ras El-'Ain al-Sama’iya area of Soor (Tyre), southern Lebanon, this morning, injuring some citizens. At dawn, Israeli warplanes struck targets in the town of Dibbeen and the village of El-Rihan, while artillery shelling targeted the areas of El-Haniyeh and El-Mansouri. Another dawn airstrike hit a building in the Jal al-Bahr area near Hiram Hospital, killing four people. Casualties were also reported after an airstrike targeted an ambulance crew point in the town of Shaqra. An Israeli drone also targeted a motorcycle in the town of Qana, injuring one person. More airstrikes targeted other areas of southern Lebanon, with no reported casualties. In a related context, Iran said it imposed a new framework for calm early Wednesday, declaring a conditional readiness to halt defensive operations. This Iranian announcement came in parallel with US president Donald Trump’s approval of suspending strikes for two weeks, signaling a shift in the negotiating momentum towards Tehran. The Iranian leadership presented a comprehensive proposal that has now become the foundation for the negotiations slated to be held in Pakistan. The proposal calls for “continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, acceptance of uranium enrichment, lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions. Other Iranian demands include US military withdrawal from the Middle East, an end to attacks on Iran and its allies, the release of frozen Iranian assets and a UN Security Council resolution making the deal binding. Meanwhile, Netanyahu announced his support for US president Donald Trump’s decision to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks, but denied that the ceasefire would involve Lebanon, while Tehran insists that any agreement to halt the war must include Lebanon as well. *** Fair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
