On Day 113 of the US-Backed Israeli Genocidal War on Gaza Strip, 18 Massacres, 174 Palestinians Killed, 310 Injured, with a Death Toll of 26,257 and 64,797 Injuries
January 27, 2024
Editor's
Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the
Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli
genocidal war on Gaza Strip:
By January 27, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip
is
33,257+.
This includes the
accounted for deaths
(26,257)
and those who are still missing under the rubble
(Corrected on January 27,
2023: 7,000+).
T
By January 9, 2023,
there was a complete destruction of
69,000+
housing units, and a partial destruction of
290,000+
housing units (60% of Gaza housing units). This forced about
1.5
million people
to become homeless, taking refuge in crowded UN schools and ultimately
sleeping in the streets.
The Israeli refusal to allow international
aid caravans to enter Gaza freely led the Palestinian population to be
on the verge of
mass
extermination for the lack of food, water, medicine, and fuel.
By January 9, 2024, 326 health personnel and 97 journalists were killed and hundreds were injured, 121 ambulances were destroyed while on duty, killing and injuring their crews, and destroyed 150 health institutions. As a result of the strikes and lack of fuel, 30 hospitals and 53 primary care centers are not functioning. In addition, 99 health personnel have been abducted by the invading Israeli occupation forces. Meanwhile, 134 government offices and 95 schools and universities were completely destroyed, while 295 schools and universities were partially damaged. 138 mosques were completely destroyed, while 240 others were partially damaged, in addition to three churches. *** ÈöÓúãö Çááåö ÇáÑøóÍúãóÜٰäö ÇáÑøóÍöíãö "ãöäú ÃóÌúáö Ðóٰáößó ßóÊóÈúäóÇ Úóáóìٰ Èóäöí ÅöÓúÑóÇÆöíáó Ãóäøóåõ ãóäú ÞóÊóáó äóÝúÓðÇ ÈöÛóíúÑö äóÝúÓò Ãóæú ÝóÓóÇÏò Ýöí ÇáúÃóÑúÖö ÝóßóÃóäøóãóÇ ÞóÊóáó ÇáäøóÇÓó ÌóãöíÚðÇ" (ÇáúãóÇÆöÏóÉõ ¡ 5: 32). In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza, which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Recent pouring rain, which started overnight Wednesday, flooded tent camps and shelter centers and washed away mattresses, food and clothes in northern and southern Gaza. Palestinian civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal told Anadolu news agency that heavy rains swamped many low-lying areas in Gaza. “We received more than a thousand warnings about flooded tents and homes in various governorates of Gaza,” he added. “What hinders the work of civil defense crews is the lack of the necessary amounts of fuel to operate rainwater pumps and move rescue vehicles to flooded areas,” the spokesman said. “With water standing in tents, diseases are likely to spread,” he warned. 'Hosni Muhanna, coordinator of the Union of the Gaza Strip Municipalities, said rainwater mixed with sewage overflew ponds in the north of Gaza City. *** Gaza's displaced population struggles in the face of winter By Muhannad Jaddou RAMALLAH, Saturday, January 27, 2024 (WAFA) – In the midst of an unrelenting Israeli onslaught that has persisted since October of the previous year, two young men diligently work to assist an elderly individual in navigating a large water pool caused by heavy rains in one of the displacement camps in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip. The torrential downpours have exacerbated the plight of displaced individuals in camps and shelters in both northern and southern Gaza. The rains have flooded their tents, causing irreparable damage to personal belongings—sparse as they may be, consisting mainly of clothing and blankets. Most of the displaced individuals, residing in tents and shelters, hastily abandoned their homes across various regions of the Gaza Strip, seeking refuge from the relentless airstrikes and artillery shelling by the invading Israeli forces. Carrying minimal possessions, they have become vulnerable to biting cold, hunger, and thirst. Estimates indicate that approximately 85% of Gaza's population, around 1.93 million civilians, are forcibly displaced. This includes many who have been displaced multiple times, as families continually move in search of safety. Nearly 1.4 million internally displaced individuals are registered in 155 UNRWA facilities across Gaza, with around a million registered in 94 UNRWA shelters in the south. In one of the tents, a group of people, including children, gathers around a metal sheet they've set ablaze using plastic materials, desperately seeking warmth due to the lack of heating means. Unprotected from the rains, these makeshift tents are ill-prepared to withstand the fierce winds and freezing temperatures. "We drowned during the night from rainwater that entered our tents in the area. The tents provide no protection from the rain, and they are ill-equipped to resist the biting winds and freezing cold," laments one displaced individual. "We only want to return to our homes," he adds. Approximately 65,000 housing units throughout Gaza have been destroyed or rendered uninhabitable, with over 290,000 residential units suffering varying degrees of damage since the start of the onslaught. In another tent, an individual struggles to keep his bedding and blankets dry, attempting to shield them from rainwater that has inundated his crowded tent. However, his efforts prove futile. "The tent offers no protection from the rain. All the mattresses and blankets are soaked and no longer usable, and it's impossible to dry them in these prevailing weather conditions," shares one displaced woman. In the same camp, a young man works diligently to remove rainwater that has invaded his tent, filling a plastic container to carry it outside. Meanwhile, a woman tries to dry her children's clothes and blankets with her own hands. The Rafa'h governorate has become the primary haven for displaced individuals, accommodating over a million people in densely populated environments due to the heightened Israeli aggression in Khan Younus, Dair El-Bala'h, and other parts of the enclave. Moreover, heating facilities are scarce due to fuel shortages and the persistent power outages since the onset of the onslaught. This compels residents to ignite fires using whatever wooden and plastic materials are available. However, this practice introduces additional challenges as the smoke and noxious odors emanating from the burning materials pose health risks, especially in tents housing the sick and infants. The displacement camps, mostly established in the southern regions of Gaza, are set up in open areas where strong winds and cold temperatures prevail. The majority of these tents are made of fabrics and plastic, lacking resistance to rain and winds. Navigating between the tents in these camps is nearly impossible, as rainwater inundates every space. Mud pits along the pathways between the tents float above the water's surface. The plight of the displaced does not end with flooded tents, lack of clothing and blankets, and the absence of heating means. The scarcity of food and medicine foreshadows a looming catastrophe of famine and the spread of diseases and epidemics among them. This is especially critical given the warnings about the mixing of sewage water with rainwater. Additionally, the displaced face dual challenges of displacement and harsh winter conditions, including the risk of exposure to the cold weather, leading to respiratory illnesses and colds, particularly among children. According to the Ministry of Health, there has been a significant and alarming increase in the recorded cases of epidemics since mid-October of the previous year. The recorded cases include 180,000 acute respiratory infections, 136,418 cases of diarrhea (with cases in children under five increasing from 48,000 to 71,000 in just one week starting December 17—equivalent to 3,200 new diarrhea cases daily), 55,472 cases of scabies and lice, 38,010 cases of dermatitis, 5,330 cases of chickenpox, and 4,683 cases of jaundice. Gaza is on the verge of an imminent risk of infectious disease outbreaks due to unsanitary conditions, overcrowding, and the severe burden on the healthcare system, rendering it ineffective. M.N. *** Uganda disowns Justice Sebutinde after voting in favor of Israel at ICJ KAMPALA, Saturday January 27, 2024 (WAFA) – Uganda has distanced itself from Julia Sebutinde, a judge who voted against all provisional measures that a UN court ordered Israel to undertake in a case brought by South Africa concerning the war on Gaza Strip. “Justice Sebutinde ruling at the ICJ does not represent the Government of Uganda’s position on the situation in Palestine,” Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Adonia Ayebare, wrote on X. “Uganda’s support for the plight of the Palestinian people has been expressed through our voting pattern at the United Nations.” South Africa, dragged Israel to the Hague-based ICJ on Dec. 29 on charges of genocide against Palestinians. On Friday, the ICJ found South Africa's claim that Israel is committing genocide plausible. The court issued an interim order urging Israel to stop obstructing aid deliveries into Gaza and improve the humanitarian situation. Sebutinde voted against all six measures of the ICJ. She is now facing the wrath of the world for her vote with several social media users saying that Ugandans should be embarrassed. “Judge Julia Sebutinde is such an embarrassment to her country and a disgrace to humanity. She didn't just vote against S. Africa's petition, she voted against reason and morality, justice and freedom, love and compassion. She voted against the very soul of humanity,” one Kenyan user wrote on X. “Julia Sebutinde is a disgrace to all of us in Africa, more especially African women. She demonstrated that she is nothing else, but a paid-up agent of the criminal Zionist Entity of Israel,” wrote another. Sebutinde was the sole judge who ruled against emergency orders against Israel. But despite her vote, the UN court ordered Israel to take all measures within its power to prevent acts of genocide in the besieged enclave. Y.S. *** UN Committee Bureau welcomes provisional measures ordered by ICJ for Israel to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza NEW YORK, Saturday, January 27, 2024 (WAFA) - The UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People welcomed the Order of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to South Africa’s application, issuing provisional measures in accordance with Israel’s obligations under the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide requiring Israel to “take all measures within its power to prevent the commission of all acts within the scope of Article II of this Convention.” Israel must ensure that “its military does not commit any” genocidal acts in Gaza, said the UN Committee in a statement. The Court confirmed it has jurisdiction in the case, recognizing that the “civilian population in the Gaza Strip remains extremely vulnerable because of Israel’s recurring use of brutal force against the Palestinian people". It directed Israel to “take immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance. Israel’s relentless and indiscriminate aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip has resulted in over 26,000 Palestinians killed, the majority of whom were children and women, and more than 63,740 were wounded. Over 360,000 homes were destroyed or damaged, in addition to the destructiion caused to vital civilian infrastructure. Approximately 1.9 million persons have been forcibly displaced and are suffering a humanitarian catastrophe, including starvation and the spread of diseases, said the statement. Israel must implement the binding provisional measures to prevent further harm to the Palestinian civilian population. The Court also ordered Israel to “prevent and punish the direct and public incitement to commit genocide” against the Palestinian people and submit within one month a report on measures taken. The Bureau called on the UN Security Council to ensure the implementation of the Court’s Order, as well as General Assembly resolutions ES-10/21 and ES-10/22 and Security Council Resolutions (2712) and (2720) of 2023. “An immediate ceasefire is needed to implement the provisional measures indicated by the Court.” The Committee Bureau reiterated its longstanding call for a just and peaceful resolution to the question of Palestine, in accordance with international law and the relevant United Nations resolutions, that ends the Israeli occupation, realizes the rights of the Palestinian people, including to self-determination and right to return and achieves the Two-State solution on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine. T.R. *** Gaza Genocide Lawsuit against Biden has day in court: Palestinians, genocide expert provide historic testimonies in U.S. case - CCR OAKLAND, Saturday, January 27, 2024 (WAFA) - The federal court heard arguments in the case Defense for Children International – Palestine versus Biden today, including extensive live testimony from Palestinian plaintiffs and a scholar of genocide and the Holocaust, said the U.S.-based Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) in a statement. Attorneys from the Center for Constitutional Rights, together with co-counsel from Van Der Hout LLP, asked the court to immediately order the United States to cease military support for Israel’s unfolding genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and opposed the government’s efforts to have the case dismissed. Earlier today, the International Court of Justice in The Hague issued provisional measures, finding that South Africa has made a plausible case that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. One plaintiff testified from Gaza, one from Ramallah, and five plaintiffs provided live testimony in court, of the killing, displacement, and destruction their families and communities have faced since Israel began its campaign of retaliation for the October 7 Hamas attacks. In just one example, approximately 60 members of Ahmed Abofoul’s extended family have been killed since the complaint was filed on November 13, underscoring the need for the court to issue an immediate injunction, said the center. “The images of our families and communities, Palestinian babies, children, women, and men from Gaza, are shaking us to our core,” said Ayman Nijim, a plaintiff in the case. “These are times of genocide, and we desperately need a U.S. court to intervene. So much hangs in the balance. Today, Palestinians spoke out in court and made a powerful case for why a preliminary injunction is necessary: we are hopeful the judge will agree with us and issue an order soon.” The case charges President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin with failing in their legal responsibility to prevent – and their complicity in – Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. It seeks an emergency court order to halt U.S. support for Israel’s assault, including by enjoining the transfer of more weapons and unconditional support to the Israeli government. “Our plaintiffs’ testimonies today demonstrate just how urgent it is for the Biden administration to finally do what they and the vast majority of the people of the world have demanded: stop sending weapons to enable Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians in besieged Gaza and instead uphold its clear legal duty to end, not further, genocide,” said Katherine Gallagher, a senior attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights who argued in court today. “These are clear legal duties under U.S. and international law, and we call on the court to uphold its Constitutional role to hold President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin to legal obligations and issue a preliminary injunction to stop the flow of weapons for Israel’s genocide.” Additional experts submitted declarations and amicus briefs in the U.S. case, including Josh Paul, the former high-ranking State Department official who resigned to protest the U.S.’s continued transfer of arms to Israel that would be used to commit human rights abuses; the world’s leading legal expert in genocide, William Schabas; 77 human rights organizations from around the world; Arab-American organizations documenting the harm to their communities; Jewish Voice for Peace; Palestinian journalists and medical professionals. Barry Trachtenberg, a genocide and Holocaust scholar who submitted a declaration with other historians and also testified today, said, “Israel’s assault on Gaza has been funded by the American people, fought with U.S.-supplied weapons, and encouraged by a complicit White House,” he said. “Unlike past genocides, which were adjudicated long after they had concluded, we have an opportunity to halt this one in its tracks. Palestinians have suffered far too much and for far too long.” Notably, in its responses, the U.S. government has not challenged the facts that Israel is committing genocide or responded to the facts setting out the way that U.S.-munitions and other forms of U.S. support have furthered the genocide, "but has rather focused on technical jurisdictional issues, arguing that the court cannot review its policy choices and that it is Israel, an “independent actor,” causing the injuries, despite the U.S.’s considerable influence over Israel, noted the statement." Center for Constitutional Rights attorneys argued today that the court has a constitutional duty to enforce the government’s legal obligations to prevent and not be complicit in genocide and that it is clear, as both Israel and the U.S. have acknowledged, that Israel’s unfolding genocide could not happen without U.S. weapons and diplomatic cover. The U.S. has continued to transfer weapons and ammunition worth millions of dollars. A previous filing in the case cites reports from early December that the United States had transferred to Israel at least 15,000 bombs and more than 50,000 155mm artillery shells, which are inherently indiscriminate, said the center. Co-counsel Marc Van Der Hout of Van Der Hout, a specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law, said after court that the testimonies of clients today and that of Trachtenberg were both heart-wrenching and compelling. “Defendants merely argued in response that whether or not there is an unfolding genocide by Israel in Gaza that the U.S. is assisting, no court has jurisdiction to tell the president what he can and cannot do, but as this administration itself has argued countless times, no president is above the law, and it is up to the courts to make sure the executive branch follows the law. That is what we are asking Judge White to do.” The complaint was brought by the Palestinian human rights groups Al-Haq and Defense for Children International – Palestine, Palestinians who live in Gaza, including Omar Al-Najjar, Ahmed Abu Artema and Mohammed Abu Rokbeh, in addition to Palestinians in the U.S. with family members who live in Gaza, including Mohammad Monadel Herzallah, Laila El-Haddad, Waeil Elbhassi, Bassim Elkarra and “A.N.” They are seeking an emergency court order to halt U.S. support for Israel’s genocidal assault. T.R. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime ForcesOn January 26, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on Gaza Strip resulted in 19 massacres, in which 183 Palestinian civilians were killed, and 377 were injured, in the past 24 hours. This increased the death toll in Gaza Strip to 26,083 and the injuries to 64,487, since October 7, 2023. *** *** US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters Day 113 Saturday 27-January-2024, GAZA, (PIC) A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to attack different areas of Gaza last night and on Saturday morning, killing and injuring dozens of citizens. According to the health ministry in Gaza, a displaced civilian was shot dead by the Israeli army during his presence in the courtyard of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younus. Three civilians were also killed and others were injured when the Israeli army attacked a crowd of civilians as they were waiting for aid trucks at the junction of al-Kuwait in the southeast of Gaza City. Meanwhile, two martyrs were transported to the European Gaza Hospital following an Israeli attack on Bani Suhaila area in the east of Khan Younus, while five citizens were injured during an artillery attack near the Industry Training Center in western Khan Younus. Three other civilians, including two women, were martyred when the Israeli army bombed a house belonging to the family of Suksuk in Al-Junaina neighborhood in the east of Rafa'h. The Israeli army also bombed several homes in Dair El-Bala'h in central Gaza, killing and injuring a number of citizens, including 10 civilians following an attack on the house of Fayyad family. Other casualties were reported in different areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial and artillery attacks last night and today. The health ministry said that the Israeli occupation army committed, over the past 24 hours, 18 massacres in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of at least 174 civilians and the injury of 310 others. *** Israeli occupation forces kill 174 Palestinian civilians in Gaza during the past 24 hours GAZA, Saturday January 27, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces committed around 18 massacres against innocent Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, claiming the lives of approximately 174 innocent civilians, with 310 others wounded, during the past 24 hours in Gaza Strip, medical sources said. According to the local health authorities, the death toll in the Gaza Strip since the start of the aggression on October 7 has risen to approximately 26,256 people, with nearly 64,797 others injured, the majority of whom are women and children. Additionally, thousands of people are reported missing. Ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach many people killed by Israeli airstrikes who are still under the rubble or on roads, and the injured individuals, sources added. Worse still, the aggression has resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly 2 million people from all of the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt—in what has become Palestine's largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba. Y.S. *** Several Palestinian civilians killed, others killed in Israeli airstrikes on Khan Younus KHAN YUNIS, Saturday, January 27, 2024 (WAFA) – Several civilians were killed and others injured this evening as Israeli occupation forces launched airstrikes on various areas in Khan Younus, south of the Gaza Strip, according to local medical sources. The sources confirmed that four citizens were killed and scores were wounded in an Israeli bombardment of the Malal'ha area west of Khan Younus. Additionally, an Israeli warplane targeted a residential building in Jourat Al-Aqad neighborhood west of the city, causing injuries among the residents. Simultaneously, invading Israeli troops continued their campaign of destroying homes and structures belonging to local Palestinian citizens in the Al-Batn Al-Sameen area of Khan Younus. The Israeli military also persisted in shelling the surroundings of Al-Amal Hospital in the city, firing intensively in its direction. Furthermore, Israeli airstrikes targeted several houses in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. According to local health authorities, the Israeli occupation committed 18 massacres during the last 24 hours against civilian families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 174 fatalities and 310 injuries. In a preliminary toll, the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has resulted in the death of 26,257 individuals, the majority of whom are innocent civilians, and 64,797 injuries. M.N. *** Ongoing Israeli shelling claims six more lives and injures dozens in Gaza GAZA, Saturday, January 27, 2024 (WAFA) – At least six civilians were reported killed, with dozens sustaining injuries, this afternoon as the occupying Israeli regime continues its relentless aggression on the Gaza Strip from the land, air and sea for the 113th consecutive day. In Gaza City, medical sources confirmed that three individuals were killed following an Israeli shelling that targeted a group of civilians near the Kuwait Roundabout in the city. The same location had witnessed a heinous crime just two days ago, resulting in the deaths of 20 civilians and injuring 105 others as Israeli troops opened gunfire targeting a group of citizens awaiting desperately needed UN assistance. In southern Gaza, the bodies of two martyrs were transferred to the European Gaza Hospital after an Israeli strike on the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younus. Meantime, the Palestinian Red Crescent announced the murder of a displaced person by Israeli forces' gunfire in the vicinity of the besieged Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younus, which has been under continuous siege for the past five days and subjected to persistent shelling, despite serving as a refuge for several displaced families. Simultaneously, the bodies of several martyrs were buried in the vicinity of the Palestine School in Khan Yunis as invading Israeli tanks continue to besiege the school, shooting at anyone trying to leave or enter the premises. The Red Crescent emphasized that the siege and shelling pose a threat to the safety of its teams, as well as to the wounded, patients, and displaced individuals at its headquarters in Khan Younus. The organization called on the international community to provide protection for its premises and personnel. Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation committed 18 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 174 fatalities and 310 injuries, according to the local health authorities. Medical sources reported that 28 people were killed, and others were injured, due to continuous Israeli shelling on Khan Younus in the last 24 hours. In a preliminary toll, the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has resulted in the death of 26,257 individuals, the majority of whom are innocent civilians, and 64,797 injuries. Sources said that the two martyrs and the wounded were later transferred to the Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafa'h. As the Israeli war of genocide on Gaza enters its 113th day, the Israeli occupation continues to commit hideous massacres and target innocent civilians, including children and women, throughout the Gaza Strip. The death toll in the Gaza Strip since the start of the aggression on October 7 has claimed the lives of approximately 26, 257, with nearly 64,797 others injured, the majority of whom are women and children. Additionally, thousands of people are reported missing. The International Court of Justice ruled yesterday that Israel, the occupying power, must take all measures to prevent acts of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and take measures to ensure the immediate provision of the urgent humanitarian needs of the Strip. A large majority of the court's 17-judge panel voted in favor of taking urgent measures that meet most of what South Africa requested, with the exception of issuing an order to stop the war on Gaza. The court also decided that Israel must prevent its forces do not commit genocide, holding accountable anyone who incites it. Israel was instructed to take measures to prevent the destruction of evidence related to the alleged genocide. Simultaneously, ICJ decided that Israel must submit a report on such measures to the court within one month of the decision. Y.S. *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and SoldiersIllegal Israeli settlers place mobile homes on Palestinian lands in Salfeet SALFEET, Saturday, January 27, 2024 (WAFA) – Illegal Israeli settlers placed a number of mobile homes today on Palestinian-owned lands in the town of Dair Istiya, located in the occupied West Bank province of Salfeet, in an attempt to expand a colonial settlement outpost in the region, according to local sources. Firas Dthiyab, the mayor of Dair Istiya, reported that colonists set up mobile homes in the area in order to expand the Israeli settlement outpost, which is illegally constructed on stolen Palestinian land. Dthiyab noted that the area has been subject to continuous attacks by Israeli forces and colonists in recent weeks. He further explained that Israeli military bulldozers are actively involved in excavating the land to facilitate the expansion of the outpost. Dthiyab revealed that colonists forcibly expelled local residents from the area and fired live ammunition at them, preventing them from accessing their lands and returning to their homes. Terror attacks by the illegal Israeli settler militias are a common feature of the daily life under colonial occupation regime, but have seen exponential growth in recent months with the rise of ultranationalist fascism in Israel's government coalition. The assailants aimed to force them out of their land, he added. Buraijiyah reported that the colonialists threatened Sawarka, warning him not to return to the area, and attempted to seize his agricultural tractor.
