On Day 81 of the US-Backed Israeli Genocidal War on Gaza, More Death,
Destruction, Starvation and Thirst, with 20,915 Palestinians
Killed, 54,918 Injured
December 26, 2023

Editor's
Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the
Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli
genocidal war on Gaza Strip:
By December 26, 2023,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip
is
27,915+.
This includes the
accounted for deaths
(20,915)
and those who are still missing under the rubble
(Corrected on December
23,
2023: 7,000+).
By December 24, 2023,
the
death toll included
8,200+
children and
6,200+
women.
By December 24 2023,
there was a complete destruction of
55,000+
housing units, and a partial destruction of
258,000+
housing units (60% of Gaza housing units). This forced about
1.5
million people
to become homeless, taking refuge in crowded UN schools and ultimately
sleeping in the streets.
The Israeli refusal to allow international
aid caravans to enter Gaza freely led the Palestinian population to be
on the verge of
mass
extermination for the lack of food, water, medicine, and fuel.
By December 21, 2023,
99
health personnel were killed and hundreds were injured,
102
ambulances were destroyed while on duty, killing and injuring their
crews, and destroyed
56
health institutions. As a result of the strikes and lack of fuel,
23
hospitals and
53
primary care centers are not functioning.

"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. More detailed news stories can be found at the following sources:http://english.wafa.ps/, https://english.palinfo.com/, https://imemc.org/, https://paltoday.ps/ar/ *** Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places: 1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Click here for more about using the apostrophe and the underlining of letters in the transliteration of Arabic names. *** *** UN official expresses grave concern over continued bombardment of Middle Gaza GENEVA, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) - UN Human Rights Office spokesperson Seif Magango, expressed grave concern about the continued bombardment of Middle Gaza by Israeli occupation forces, which has claimed more than 100 Palestinian lives since Christmas Eve. Commenting on the continued bombardment of Middle Gaza, Magango said it is particularly concerning that this latest intense bombardment comes after Israeli forces ordered residents from the south of Wadi Gaza to move to Middle Gaza and Tal al-Sultan in Rafa'h. The Israeli Air Force reportedly carried out more than 50 strikes across Middle Gaza on 24-25 December, including on three refugee camps, Al-Buraij, Al-Nusayrat, and Al-Maghazi. Two strikes hit seven residential buildings in the Al-Maghazi camp, killing an estimated 86 Palestinians and injuring many more. An unknown number of people are still believed to be trapped under the rubble. The combined death toll from the strikes in the Al-Maghazi and Al-Buraij camps has since risen to at least 131, according to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), amid a deepening and already catastrophic humanitarian situation. All roads connecting the three camps have been destroyed, obstructing relief aid from reaching those in need, and shelters and hospitals still minimally operating are critically overcrowded and under-resourced. “We restate our warning that all attacks must strictly adhere to the principles of international humanitarian law, including distinction, proportionality, and precaution in attack. Israeli forces must take all measures available to protect civilians. Warnings and evacuation orders do not absolve them of the full range of their international humanitarian law obligations,” he said. T.R. *** Complete shutdown of fixed-line telecommunications and internet services in Gaza RAMALLAH, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) – The Palestine telecommunications company (Paltel) has announced the complete shutdown of fixed-line telecommunications and internet services in the Gaza Strip, due to the continuing Israeli aggression on the Strip. In a post on its official Facebook page, the company explained that its technical teams are working to restore services despite the dangerous conditions on the ground. T.R. *** Forced and displacement of Palestinians constitute a serious breach of international law and an atrocity crime OSLO, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) — The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) warned that any attempts by Israel to deport and permanently displace Palestinians within and from Gaza would constitute a serious breach of international law and an atrocity crime. This concern follows Israel's forcible transfer of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians within Gaza. Palestinians fear further displacement could lead to a refugee crisis like the catastrophic events of 1948, known in Arabic as the 'Nakba'. As Israeli military operations in Gaza drive civilians closer to its southern borders, the looming possibility of mass deportation of Palestinians to Egypt grows. This alarming prospect follows recent media reports and explicit statements by Israeli officials endorsing such deportation without reasonable justification, proper accommodation in places of refuge, or guarantees of return to homes once hostilities end. “The forcible transfer and deportation of a significant population across borders, lacking any guarantees of return, would constitute a serious breach of international law, amounting to an atrocity crime,” said Jan Egeland, Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council. “Pushing for the irreversible deportation of hundreds of thousands directly undermines resolving this conflict amid decades of a refugee crisis. The international community must unequivocally condemn any forced displacement of Palestinians, whether within or outside the Gaza Strip,” he said. “Every state is obligated to prevent war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide - each constituting atrocity crimes. We urge all states to recognize and fulfill their duty to avert these crimes and any actions that might incite them, using appropriate and necessary measures. In this critical moment, the international community must unite, leveraging the UN Security Council and employing diplomatic, humanitarian, and peaceful measures to safeguard all civilians from potential atrocity crimes,” added Egeland. Israel's extensive destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure, coupled with ongoing bombardment and siege, has made Gaza unlivable and could push the population into forced and protracted displacement across the border, with limited prospects for repatriation. A staggering 1.9 million Palestinians in Gaza—more than 80 percent of the population—have been internally displaced. Israel's indiscriminate bombardment across Gaza has damaged over 250,000 housing units, with an additional 50,000 units completely destroyed. Consequently, more than one million people in Gaza lack a safe and secure home to return to. In recent days, Israel has issued additional relocation orders based on safety claims, amid intensified bombardment in southern Gaza even within the areas where people have been ordered to seek refuge. This has forced Palestinians into small, overcrowded pockets where they have set up makeshift tents while they continue to struggle with worsening starvation and a surge in respiratory and water-borne diseases. During these winter months, individuals who have spent weeks on the streets will experience increased vulnerability. Essential services such as healthcare, education, and protection systems have collapsed. NRC’s team on the ground has struggled to deliver effective aid, facing challenges as their own families have been forcibly displaced four or five times since fleeing their homes in the north under Israeli orders. “Rather than forcing people across borders, all involved parties, including Palestinian armed groups and Israel, must immediately cease hostilities. Israel, in particular, must allow Gaza residents to return to their homes and provide compensation for the extensive damage inflicted on civilian areas in Gaza,” added Egeland. NRC stressed that peace is the only viable solution for civilians in Gaza and Israel. A sustained ceasefire and mutually agreed-upon armistice conditions are essential to ending this suffering and enabling aid workers to deliver crucial relief to those in need. M.K. *** Euro-Med calls for revealing fate of women kidnaped from Gaza Tuesday 26-December-2023, GENEVA, (PIC) The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has called on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime to reveal the fate of dozens of Palestinian women who were kidnaped from homes and shelter centers in the Gaza Strip and to end the enforced disappearance of about 3,000 other civilians, including children. “We have received information about the detention of hundreds of Palestinians from Al-Shaikh Radhwan neighborhood in Gaza City by the Israeli army during the past few days, including dozens of women who were taken to the Yarmouk Stadium. Their headscarves were removed by soldiers and they were also searched and exposed to explicit harassment, beating and abuse,” Euro-Med said in a statement on Tuesday. “The males, including minors as young as 10 years old and elderlies over the age of 70, were forced to get completely naked, except for their lower underwear (boxer shorts). They were forced to line up in a humiliating way in front of the women who were detained in a nearby spot inside the stadium,” Euro-Med added. Euro-Med pointed out that hundreds of other detained civilians from Jabalya Al-Balad and its refugee camp in northern Gaza and the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza also received the same inhumane treatment from Israeli soldiers. According to information, including video footage and testimonies, Euro-Med obtained recently, the Israeli forces tend to blow up doors and throw grenades through them during their raids on homes and shelter centers before they violently storm these places and shoot dead a number of civilians inside them with no reason or if they hear anyone of them talk. Afterwards, they take the remaining civilians outdoors and force the males to strip naked to their underwear while searching and harassing the women, and then they embark on verifying the identities of all the detainees. Euro-Med highlighted that the Israeli army continues to detain dozens of females, including elderly women — one of them over 80 years of age — as well as mothers with their infants and toddlers, and minor girls. Euro-Med also received testimonies affirming that a number of female detainees were threatened with rape and one woman identified as Hadeel Yousuf was herded with a group of naked male detainees into the back of a truck. ****** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces Day 81: Hundreds Of Casualties as the Israeli Occupation Army Continues To Bomb Gaza IMEMC, DEC 26, 2023 On Tuesday, the Israeli army continued the firing of missiles and shells at dozens of areas in several parts of the densely populated Gaza Strip, killing and wounding hundreds of Palestinians. In Jabalya and the Jabalya refugee camp, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, Israeli missiles and shells struck many homes and buildings, causing dozens of casualties. In Gaza City, the soldiers fired a missile at the home of a Palestinian journalist, 'Hamza 'Hammad, in the Sheikh Radhwan area, killing several members of his family. In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired missiles at a home for the Najjar family in the Qeizan Najjar area, south of the city, killing and wounding many Palestinians, in addition to many others who remained under the rubble. The army also fired a missile at a home for Palestinians from the Abu Rizqa family in the Holandi neighborhood, west of the city, causing several casualties, in addition to killing at least five Palestinians and wounding many others when the army fired a missile at a home for Ismael family in the Al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Younus. In addition, the soldiers fired many missiles and shells around Nasir Hospital in Khan Younus, and a barrage of shells targeted several parts of the city. The army also bombarded homes of the Sha’ath and Mo'ammar families in Khan Younus, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians, in addition to burying scores under the rubble. Furthermore, the soldiers fired missiles at the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Khan Younus, where thousands of Palestinians sheltered. The army also bombarded many homes in Bani Suhayla village, east of Khan Younus, causing many casualties. The Qatar-based Al-Jazeera said Israeli missiles and shells killed 26 Palestinians and injured dozens in Khan Younus overnight, in addition to 37 Palestinians near the European Hospital in the city. Two Palestinians, Zuhair Al-'Amassi and Ibraheem Khalid Abu Libda, were killed when the army fired a missile at a home for the Al-'Amassi family near the Najma junction in Rafa'h, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. It is worth mentioning that a Palestinian, Zaid Al-'Aabideen 'Omar 'Harb, succumbed to serious wounds he suffered a week ago when the army bombarded his home in Rafa'h, killing 24 members of his family and wounding many others. In Dair El-Bala'h, in the central Gaza Strip, the army fired missiles and shells at several homes, causing casualties. At least one woman was killed, and several Palestinians were injured when the army bombed the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Many Palestinians were injured when the army fired a missile at a home in the Najma Square area and a home in the Shabboura neighborhood in the city. The Israeli army said it bombed more than 100 “targets” in the southern part of the Gaza Strip within the last 24 hours. Medical sources in Gaza said the Israeli bombing led to hundreds of casualties, including dozens of fatalities. In related news, the Israeli army said two of its soldiers were killed by friendly fire when a unit of its troops fired a shell at a building they were occupying. Al-Jazeera quoted the Health Ministry stating that the Israeli army committed 25 massacres, killing 250 Palestinians and wounding at least 500, from various families since Sunday. On Tuesday, the Israeli army said two soldiers were killed in gun battles in several parts of the Gaza Strip, bringing the number of soldiers killed since October 7 to 491. The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli missiles and shells have killed at least 20,647 Palestinians and injured more than 54,500 and added that %70 of the casualties are women and children. US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters Day 81 Tuesday 26-December-2023, (PIC) -- As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 81 on Tuesday, massive aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and level whole blocks and homes and massacre more civilians, mostly children and women. A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to attack different areas of Gaza last night and on Tuesday morning, targeting homes, civilian gatherings, and shelter centers and massacring dozens of citizens. The occupation warplanes launched fire belts on Al-Batn Al-Sameen area and the Morag area and bombed the house of Dr. Khamees Al-Najjar in Qizan Al-Najjar, south of the city of Khan Younus. At least two people were killed and dozens were injured during the attack, while many others are still under rubble. The Israeli warplanes also launched airstrikes in the center of Khan Younus, amid heavy artillery shelling. Another house belonging to Riyadh Abu Zarqa was also targeted in the Al-Hollandi neighborhood, west of Khan Younus. On the other hand, two Palestinians were killed after Israeli forces bombed a house belonging to the Al-'Amassi family near Al-Najma Roundabout in Rafa'h. In a similar attack, Israeli war boats bombed residential areas west of Nusayrat, amid heavy artillery shelling east of Buraij in the central Gaza Strip. Several Palestinian civilians killed and injured in ongoing Israeli genocidal strikes on Gaza GAZA, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) – Several Palestinian civilians were killed and others injured today in the continuous Israeli genocidal bombardment of several areas in the Gaza Strip. Israeli warplanes launched intense and violent raids on several areas east of Khan Younus, south of the Gaza Strip. A civilian was killed and several others were injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted a residential house west of Khan Younus. Three people were also killed and several others were injured in an Israeli strike targeting a house in the Nusayrat refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip. Medical sources reported that dozens of citizens, mostly children and women, were killed and injured today in the ongoing Israeli raids on the Strip. The continuing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since 7 October has resulted in the killing of some 21,000 citizens, and the injury of around 54,000, more than 70% of whom are women and children. T.R. Dozens killed and injured in Israel’s 81st day of war of genocide on the Gaza Strip GAZA, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) - Dozens of people were killed and injured today, most of them children and women, as a result of the continuous Israeli genocidal bombardment on the Gaza Strip on the 81st day of the war of genocide. In the city of Khan Younus, 10 people were killed as a result of an Israeli raid that targeted a house in the south of the Gaza Strip. Warplanes also attacked Bani Suhaila in the south of the Gaza Strip, as artillery shelling targeted the eastern and northern areas of Gaza, and Ju'hr Al-Deek area in the south. Several people were killed at dawn today after the occupation warplanes bombed a house in Khan Younus. The occupation warplanes also bombed a house in the Shaboura camp in central Rafa'h and targeted the city of Dair El-Bala'h in the central Gaza Strip. M.K. Israel bombs the Red Crescent building in Khan Younus, injuring many of the displaced people GAZA, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) – Several of the displaced people were injured today in an Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the city of Khan Younus, which sheltered thousands of displaced people. A Red Crescent spokesman said that the Israeli bombing targeted the upper floors of the building, as many of the wounded were being attended to despite scarcity of medical supplies and a running out of fuel, while the occupation forces arrested medical personnel and took them to unknown destinations. The spokesman pointed out that the health situation is getting worse as the Israeli raids continue and the occupation forces prevent ambulance crews from entering the hit areas. He pointed out that there is no longer any safe area in the Gaza Strip, in light of the targeting of people in these areas. Meanwhile, two people, including a woman, were killed and several others were injured as a result of an Israeli bombardment targeting Al-Buraij and Al-Maghazi refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip, while Israeli tanks continued violent artillery shelling of the central region of the Gaza Strip.
