Rand Paul Is the Only Rational Republican Presidential Candidate, Others Are No More Than Cheerleaders for the War Industry

By Hassan El-Najjar

December 16, 2015

Rand Paul

Watching the Republican presidential debate last night was an interesting session for teaching students and researchers about the overwhelming influence of the war industry (Israeli-military-industrial-intelligence complex) on American politics.

With the exception of Rand Paul, almost all other Republican presidential candidates presented themselves as cheerleaders of the war industry, outbidding each other about who is more eager and more willing to invade the entire Middle East, not only Syria, including a war with Russia over there. They had nothing else to present to the American people other than fear, war mongering, and the promise of more wars around the world!

They have demonstrated again that they are competing for the position of the cheerleader-in-Chief for the war industry!

Only Rand Paul reminded them and the American people of the $18 trillion national debt (which is basically a military-spending debt). He also reminded them that they don't have the money for their wanton and endless wars!

He was consistent in his message about the national debt and the secrecy of the Federal Reserve (which finances these endless wars in the Middle East)!

Rand Paul deserves credit for his courage to say what he said, knowing that he has no chance to be the presidential nominee of the War Party!

There's no room for rationality and wisdom these days in a society where politicians are controlled by gambling tycoons, like Sheldon Adelson, who handles the Republican candidates. They all seek his approval, whether they need his money or not.

Just on the day of the debate, Trump, the only candidate who bragged all the time that he did not need money from anybody (as a gambling tycoon himself), had to meet with Adelson to be stamped as an Israeli puppet, like the others. He had to show his capitulation by saying something for that effect during the debate. He did so when he mentioned that the wall works for Israel, in reference to the Apartheid Wall the Israeli occupation settler government built around the Palestinian cities and villages in the West Bank.

Though Rand Paul has been rational and courageous about how he will address various problems facing the American people, he also has succumbed to the Israeli-Zionist influence on the American society by declaring his support for the Israeli apartheid regime, which has usurped the Palestinian territory and subjugated the Palestinian people to the longest brutal military occupation in recent history.

Israeli role in the devastation of the Middle East was the "Elephant-in-the-Room" that nobody wanted to notice or mention, neither the CNN Zionist Blitzer nor the war industry cheerleaders.

With these inefficient, irrational, and war mongering cheerleaders, the stage has been set for Hillary Clinton to be the next President of the United States!

Rand Paul Is Virtually the Only Candidate Who Doesn't Want to Start World War III in Syria

GOP debate separates the interventionist hawks from... the one other guy.

Robby Soave, Dec. 15, 2015 10:40 pm

MSNBC“I think if you’re in favor of World War III, you have your candidate,” said Sen. Rand Paul during the Republican debate. He was referring to Gov. Chris Christie, but could have been talking about virtually any of the other eight people standing on the stage at The Venetian.

Indeed, only the libertarian-ish Republican senator from Kentucky was willing to admit that reckless U.S. interventionism in the Middle East—cheered on by Republicans and Democrats alike—gave birth to ISIS. He calmly explained that deposing Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Muammar Gadhafi in Libya created a vacuum for even worse radicals to thrive. And as Paul pointed out, if President Obama and Republican hawks had gotten their wish two years ago and deposed Bashar al-Assad, ISIS would now rule in Syria as well.

While most of the other candidates remained staunchly anti-Russia, anti-Iran, and anti-ISIS—even though the former two are unwaveringly opposed to the latter—Paul was willing to criticize the recklessness of a go-to-war-with-Vladimir-Putin over nothing policy.

“If we announce that we’re going to have a no-fly zone… it’s a recipe for disaster,” said Paul. “It’s a recipe for World War III. We don’t need to confront Russia from a position of recklessness that would lead to war.”

Ted Cruz also appeared to realize that regime change in the Middle East was a dangerous game, and Donald Trump was critical of U.S. nation-building—albeit eager to confiscate the oil from the U.S.’s vanquished foes. But only Paul took the principled stance that endless interventionism and anti-Russian posturing actually makes the nation less safe.

Many libertarians (myself included) have been dismayed by Rand Paul’s recent hard-right turn on immigration. But on foreign policy and mass surveillance, he remains the best candidate by a mile. Thank goodness he’s not afraid to make that clear to the American people. (Related: Rand Paul vs. the Libertarian Moment.)

Rand Paul on Spending and Debt

As I travel across the country and speak to my constituents, I have found that their top concern is our national debt.

We are currently spending roughly $7 million per minute and this reckless habit has gone on for way too long.  We currently face a debt of over $18 trillion. This is unsustainable. The fiscal crisis that faces our nation must be taken seriously and immediately addressed.

As President of the United States, I will work to balance our budget and only spend what comes in.  We must cut spending in all areas, particularly areas that are better run by state and local governments.

In 46 states across the nation, a Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA) has been enacted in their state constitutions. I have long been a proponent of adopting the same principle for the Federal Government. As President, I will work to authorize common sense solutions that will solve our nation's fiscal crisis.

Rand Paul Supports an Audit of the Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve was created by Congress and is supposed to be overseen by Congress. The Fed is now in every nook and cranny of banking with unprecedented regulatory powers and no Congressional oversight. I believe the Fed should be audited and the regulatory power should be placed back under the control of Congress.

A complete and thorough audit of the Fed will finally allow the American people to know exactly how their money is being spent by Washington. For too long, the Fed has been operating under a cloak of secrecy. The American people have a right to know what the Federal Reserve is doing with our nation's money supply.

I will continue my fight to audit the Fed and restore transparency and fiscal sanity to our nation’s checkbook.

Rand Paul Supports a Strong National Defense

I believe that one of the primary functions of the Federal Government is national security. As a Senator, one of the most important votes I could make is on a declaration of war. As Commander-in-Chief, the importance of this decision would not be overlooked. If the military action is justified and there is no other course of action, I would follow the Constitution and seek Congressional approval before sending our brave men and women into harm's way.

The Founding Fathers understood the seriousness of war and thus included in our Constitution a provision stating that only Congress can declare war.  We must maintain this important check and balance and the decision to wage war should not be taken lightly.

I believe in Ronald Reagan’s “Peace through Strength.” I will continue to stand with Israel and our allies abroad, and I vow to explore all diplomatic options before sending our armed forces into battle. Finally, if and when we choose to fight, we will empower our military to fight to win.

Rand Paul Stands With Israel

I’m proud to support Israel, America’s longtime friend and ally in the Middle East.

Israeli cafés and buses are bombed, towns are victimized by hundreds of rockets, and its citizens are attacked by Palestinian terrorists.

It’s time we took a stand for Israel by standing up to the enemies of Israel, the enemies that murder Israeli citizens.

That’s why I proposed a bill called the “Stand with Israel Act” to cut off the flow of U.S. taxpayer dollars to the Palestinian Authority.

As long as the Palestinian Authority is allied with Hamas not one more tax dollar should flow to them.
