Palestinian Raed Salhi Dies of Wounds by Israeli Occupation Soldiers, Who Attack Peaceful Palestinian Protest, Injure and Abduct Civilians

September 5, 2017

Editor's Note:

The following news stories are just examples of the Israeli occupation government violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. This cannot continue without the full financial and media support from Zionists as well as financial and military support from the US-EU governments, which have been active participant in the persecution and subjugation of the Palestinian people.

The Israeli occupation government has received more than $3.8 billion annually from the US successive administrations, Democrat and Republican alike, to enable it to continue the subjugation and persecution of the Palestinian people. The Obama administration made sure that the US support for the Israeli occupation government will continue by obligating its successors to give the racist, apartheid, Zionist state $38 billion in the next ten years.

Illegal Israeli Settlers Place Tents, Mobile Homes, On Palestinian Lands Near Nablus

September 4, 2017 9:39 PM IMEMC News

A group of illegal Israeli settlers invaded, Monday, privately-owned Palestinian lands in Jaloud village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and installed mobile homes and a tent, in an area just a few meters away from a new under-construction colony.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, told the WAFA Palestinian News Agency that the colonists prepared a road leading to the newly installed homes, which were set up on nearly 30 Dunams of agricultural lands.

Daghlas added that the Israeli army recently prevented the Palestinians from entering their lands to harvest their wheat, and today, the colonists started installing their new colony on the same lands, just meters away from “Amichai” under-construction illegal colony, which is being built to relocate colonists who were removed from Amona colonialist outpost this past February.

Palestinian Raed Salhi Was Left To Bleed To Death For Ninety Minutes, After Being Shot by Israeli Occupation Soldiers

September 4, 2017 1:49 PM IMEMC News

The head of the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee Issa Qaraqe stated that Raed Salhi, who on Sunday September 3, died at the Hadassah Israeli Medical Center in Jerusalem, from serious wounds suffered on August 9, 2017, was left to bleed to death for more than ninety minutes, when Israeli occupation soldiers shot him after the army invaded Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

Qaraqe’ stated that the soldiers shot Salhi while attempting to abduct him, and left him bleeding for more than ninety minutes, after preventing local medics from approaching him.

“The soldiers shot Salhi with the full intent of killing him; this is why they shot him with more than five live rounds in the abdomen, damaging his liver,” Qaraqe’ said, “He remained on life support until he uttered his last breath.”

He added that what happened to Salhi is a repeated occurrence, a deliberate policy to ensure the death of young Palestinian men, instead of arresting him, and demanded a credible international investigation into Israel’s policies of assassinations, and the obstruction of urgently needed medical services.

“The medical report by Hadassah revealed that Salhi arrived at the medical center suffering very serious wounds following gunshot injuries to his chest and abdomen, leading to deadly damage to his organs,” Qaraqe’ added.

His statements came as he visited families or Palestinians who were killed by the Israeli army, and those who are imprisoned by Israel.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Assault Nonviolent Protesters, Abduct One, In Hebron

September 4, 2017 6:09 AM IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers assaulted, Sunday, dozens of Palestinians marching nonviolently against the Annexation Wall and colonies, in the center of Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, and abducted a local volunteer with the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories (B’Tselem).

The residents were marching against the Israeli decision to isolate the Old City from its surrounding areas, and the illegal Israeli apartheid polices against the indigenous Palestinian inhabitants. The new Israeli policies provide increased power for the illegal Israeli settlers to act with impunity against Palestinians.

As they marched, they chanted and called for the removal of the Annexation Wall, the removal of all Israeli colonies, including the removal of the illegal settlers occupying Abu Rajab family home, in the Old City.

They called for a life with dignity, free from occupation, colonization and oppression, and for resistance to Israel’s illegal policies of segregation and apartheid, especially the recent Israeli decision signed by the Head of the Central Command, Major General Roni Numa, establishing a municipal services administration for the Jewish settlers in Hebron.

The procession was organized by the Youth Coalition Against Settlements, the International Committee Against Racism and Apartheid, in addition to the  Salayma and Gheith families.

The demanded an end to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, the preservation of the Palestinian identity of Hebron city, freedom of movement and basic rights of dignity and liberty as stated by International Law.

The soldiers resorted to excessive force against the nonviolent protesters, and abducted Ra’ed Abu Mayyala, 35, who is also a volunteer with the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories (B’Tselem).

Issa Amro, the coordinator of the Youth Coalition against Settlements, said this activity is the beginning of various demonstrations against an illegal Israeli order to “develop the Jewish quarter in Hebron” to officially recognize it as a settlement under the full control of the “Civil Administration Office.”

This could mean the removal of native Palestinians, and the illegal confiscation and annexation of their property.

Amro added that preparations are underway for an international campaign titled “Hebron is a Palestinian City and not for Settlers,” aiming at ending the apartheid and segregation polices in the city, and reopening all closed Palestinian roads and homes, by removing the illegal colonists from the heart of the city.

Responding to the decision, the Israeli Peace Now Movement said, “By granting an official status to the Hebron settlers, the Israeli government is formalizing the apartheid system in the city. This step, which happened immediately following the announcement of the evacuation of the settlers who took over a house in Hebron, is another illustration of the policy of compensating the most extreme settlers for their illegal actions.

“It appears that the order does not create a new local authority or a new community within a regional authority, but rather a settler body with a certain degree of administrative power. Needless to say, this body will not include any Palestinian representation.”

Hebron’s Governor says Expansion of Illegal Israeli Settlers’ Municipal Powers Most Dangerous since 1967

September 3, 2017 5:16 AM IMEMC News & Agencies

Hebron governor Kamel Hameed, on Saturday, said that the Israeli occupation army’s decision to expand municipal powers of illegal settlers in the city of Hebron is “the most dangerous since 1967”.

He told the official radio station ‘Voice of Palestine’ that the decision is paving the way for undermining Palestinian authority and imposing an Israeli one instead. “The order jeopardizes any political settlement in the area, which stands in contradiction with the peace process and the establishment of a Palestinian state.”

Hebron was divided into two sections in the Hebron Protocol signed by the late leader Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in January 1997; “H1 is under full Palestinian control and H2 is under Israeli control”.

While H2 is under Israeli military control, civil issues, such as infrastructure, construction, traffic arrangements, in the settlers section continue to be controlled by the Palestinian Authority.

The Israeli army’s order transfers municipal powers from the Palestinian Authority to the Hebron municipal committee under the jurisdiction of Israel’s Ministry of Interior, which constitutes a violation of the Hebron Protocol.

According to WAFA, Hameed warned from the consequences of such decision in the future, saying it will lead to a state of confusion and chaos and will threaten order and stability in the area. He called for urgent political, diplomatic and legal action.

Peace Now, Israeli watchdog group, criticized the decision, “By granting an official status to the Hebron settlers, the Israeli government is formalizing the apartheid system in the city.”

The group said the step, which followed the evacuation of the settlers who took over a house in Hebron, is “another illustration of the policy of compensating the most extreme settlers for their illegal actions.”

The group warned that the order might bring about several implications, including formalizing an apartheid system in Hebron and less transparency regarding fund allocation if municipal issues are handled directly by Israeli settlers in Hebron.

September 3, 2017 2:35 AM IMEMC News

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, Saturday, a 60-year-old Palestinian woman at a military roadblock near Ni’lin village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

The army claimed that the soldiers opened fire at the woman, after “suspecting that she intended to stab them.”

The woman was not injured, but lost consciousness before the soldiers took her prisoner.

The identity of the woman, her health condition and the location she was moved to, remain unclear, due to Israel’s policies of withholding information.

On Saturday at night, the Israeli army said that Palestinian fighters fired live rounds at a settler’ car near Shuqba village, west of Ramallah, causing no damage or injuries.

The incident reportedly took place near Nili illegal Israeli colony, built on privately-owned Palestinian lands belonging to residents of Shuqba village.

The soldiers initiated a searched campaign, and closed all roads leading to the village, completely isolating it, and prevented the Palestinian from entering or leaving it.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested on Saturday afternoon a 60-year-old Palestinian woman after shooting her near Ramallah.
