Israeli army radio revealed on Monday that Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah held direct talks Sunday night with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon.

The meeting came amid an American push to improve economic ties between the Palestinians and Israel as part of a larger plan to ultimately strike a peace deal. It was part of a series of meetings between Palestinians and Israelis despite the Palestinian decision to halt security coordination.

The meeting was also attended by PA Civil Affairs Minister Hussein al-Sheikh, the head of the PA’s General Intelligence Service Majid Faraj and PA Finance Minister Shukri Bishara, according to a statement by Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs.

The two sides discussed a number of important issues, foremost of which is lifting the Gaza siege, financial issues related to the financial entitlements of the Palestinian Authority and the settlements issue especially the decisions to construct thousands of settlement units in addition to electricity and water crises.

Demands have been made to cancel these decisions and stop incursions by Jewish extremists into the al-Aqsa Mosque and all the holy sites since these incursions create a climate of tension and push the region into a religious conflict.

Water and electricity issues were also discussed, including a new trade agreement regulating these two sectors in terms of increasing capacity and quantities, and agreement on new prices for these services.

October 30, 2017, LONDON, (PIC) + -

Britain’s Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has announced his refusal to attend a dinner in London slated for next Thursday with Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu to mark the 100th anniversary of the Balfour declaration.

Corbyn is known for being a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause and a staunch critic of Israel and the western policies that support the occupation of Palestine.

British premier Theresa May had invited Netanyahu to visit London on Wednesday to attend an official dinner to be held to celebrate the centennial of the Balfour declaration. She also invited Corbyn in his capacity as the leader of the largest opposition party in the country.

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah demanded on Sunday that United Kingdom bear responsibility and apologize for Balfour Declaration

October 30, 2017, NABLUS, (PIC) + -

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah demanded on Sunday that United Kingdom bear responsibility and apologize for Balfour Declaration which granted the Jews a national homeland in Palestine.

In a speech he delivered during the inauguration ceremony of a group of governmental schools in Nablus city, Hamdallah called on the UK to correct its mistake rather than celebrate it. He urged the international community to end the historic tyranny practiced against the Palestinians on the 100th anniversary of the ill-famed Balfour promise, which coincides on November 02.

Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May said earlier that she would celebrate the 100th anniversary of Balfour Declaration, which is a promise made by the British government to the Zionist Movement stipulating the establishment of a national homeland for Jews over Palestinian territories.

October 30, 2017, OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC) + -

53 Israeli settlers on Monday morning stormed al-Aqsa Mosque via the Maghareba Gate.

A PIC news correspondent said the Israeli police escorted dozens of Israeli settlers as they broke into al-Aqsa.

Shortly before the break-in, Israeli police troops cordoned off the plazas of the site.

The settlers defiled the mosque and performed a round of sacrilegious rituals before they left the site via the Silsila Gate.

At the same time the Israeli police cracked down on the peaceful Muslim worshipers and seized their IDs near the main entrances to the site.

Israeli settlers, escorted by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF), on Sunday attacked a number of Palestinian farmers and foreign peace activists who were picking olives near the city of Nablus.

October 30, 2017, NABLUS, (PIC) + -

A group of Israeli settlers, escorted by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF), on Sunday attacked a number of Palestinian farmers and foreign peace activists who were picking olives near the city of Nablus.

The Palestinian activist Myassar Atiani told Quds Press that the settlers coming from the nearby Eli settlement and the IOF soldiers assaulted the olive pickers and confiscated the IDs of the Palestinian farmers and the passports of the foreign activists.

Atiani pointed out that the IOF soldiers, after examining the confiscated documents, informed the foreign activists that they are not allowed to enter the area again; however, the activists rejected the decision saying that they will continue to help and support the Palestinian farmers.

A similar attack was recorded in the same area on Saturday in which a number of Palestinian farmers and foreign peace activists were injured.

According to anti-settlement activists, Palestinian farmers yearly suffer heavy losses because of the settlers' attacks which are usually escalated during the annual olive harvest season to force the farmers to leave their lands so that they become an easy target for settlement projects.

The West Bank and Gaza Strip have nearly 8.5 million olive trees, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture which said that the sales of olive crops and olive oil constitute 1% of the national income.

The UK delegation consisted of 60 activists who walked from the UK to Occupied Jerusalem in a journey that lasted for 135 days. The delegation was received by al-Khalil organizations which offered the delegation a tour in the city.

The settlers also assaulted al-Khalil Assistant Governor Nidal al-Jaabari. Meanwhile, IOF troops detained al-Khalil Governor Consultant Mahdi Mereb for a few hours upon the request of settlers who ousted the local and foreign activists.
