Palestinian Young Man Shot and Killed After Allegedly Injuring 3 Israeli Occupation Soldiers

May 4, 2016

Editor's Note:

The following news stories are just few examples of the Israeli occupation government's violation of Palestinian human rights, which cannot continue without the full financial and military support from the US-EU.

Palestinian shot, killed at Beitunia checkpoint

May 4, 2015, RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

A Palestinian young man was shot and killed Tuesday evening by Israeli gunfire after he allegedly rammed his car into a group of Israeli soldiers near the illegal settlement of Dolev in Ramallah, injuring three of them.

Israeli 0404 website claimed that a suspected car ramming attack occurred Tuesday evening at a junction near the illegal Israeli settlement of Dolev northwest of Ramallah.

Palestinian Health Ministry affirmed in a brief statement that an unidentified Palestinian young man was shot and killed at Beitunia checkpoint west of Ramallah.

Yediot Ahranot Hebrew newspaper said that three Israelis were injured, one of them in critical condition, in a car ramming attack.

The suspected driver was immediately shot and killed, according to the paper.

Israeli ambulance crews rushed to the area while Israeli helicopters transferred the seriously injured soldier to hospital.

More than 200 Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers since October 2015. With the Palestinian death rate climbing as Israeli forces continue their crackdown on Palestinian protesters across the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip's border, Israel's extrajudicial killings policy is once again being questioned.

Amnesty International has recently released a report titled, "No Justification for deliberate attacks on civilians, unlawful killings by Israeli forces, or collective punishment of Palestinians". The report said that many of the Israeli killings come close to the definition of extrajudicial killings.

Serious deterioration in condition of Israeli injured soldier

May 4, 2015, OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

One of the three Israeli soldiers who were injured in yesterday’s ramming attack near Ramallah suffered a serious health deterioration, Israeli media sources said.

His life is in danger, Israeli radio quoted medical sources as saying.

Earlier Tuesday, a Palestinian young man was shot and killed by Israeli gunfire after he allegedly rammed his car into a group of Israeli soldiers near the illegal Israeli settlement of Dolev in Ramallah, injuring three of them.

For its part, Yediot Ahranot Hebrew newspaper affirmed that one of the three injured soldiers, who was transported to Tel HaShomer Hospital in a helicopter, is clinically dead.

The two other soldiers were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in an ambulance in light to moderate conditions suffering from multiple injuries, according to the paper.

The body of the slain Palestinian was immediately handed over to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

3 Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike

May 4, 2015, RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

Three Palestinian prisoners continued their hunger strike in Israeli jails in protest against their illegal administrative detention according to which they are held without charge or trial.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that the prisoner Sami Janazra, who is currently held in Soroka hospital, has maintained his hunger strike for 63 days and still is adamant on continuing despite his serious health deterioration.

He was moved more than once to solitary confinement in an attempt to break his strike, the PPS pointed out, saying that he was beaten by Israeli guards while being held in Soroka hospital.

Along the same line, the two prisoners Fuad Assi and Adib Mafarjeh have been on hunger strike for a whole month.

The Israeli prison service moved both of them to solitary confinement to put more pressures on them to stop their hunger strike.

Israeli court adjourns trial of two Palestinian child to next month

May 4, 2015, OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Israeli Central Court of Jerusalem Tuesday adjourned the trial of two juvenile Palestinian cousins: Ali Alqam, 12, and Muawiya Alqam, 13, to June 5th.

The minor Muawiya affirmed to the judge that he was subjected to severe beating during his transfer to the court while beating marks were obviously clear on his hands and face.

In coincidence with the trial procedures, the popular committee for the release of juvenile captives, organized a protest sit-in before the court’s building. The committee’s coordinator Abdullah Alqam condemned the adjournment decision of the trial and opined that it was taken deliberately.

He also condemned the Israeli ministerial decision to endorse the children law proposal which allows convicting minors below 14 years old. Alqam underlined that the bill is contrary to the principles of the juveniles’ law and the international charter for child rights.

Both boys were arrested on November, 8, 2015 after an Israeli security guard at a train station opened his gunfire at them. Ali was injured by three bullets in the abdomen and right hand. Both were arrested and charged with attempting to stab a security guard near Pisgat Ze'ev settlement.

A Palestinian child arrested in al-Khalil, settlers storm Salfit

May 4, 2015, AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested at dawn Wednesday a Palestinian minor and summoned two others after breaking into al-Khalil south of the West Bank.

According to the PIC reporter, IOF soldiers stormed in large numbers Aroub refugee camp north of the city and arrested a 15-year-old boy before breaking into and searching his family home.

Israeli forces also stormed Idna town and violently raided a local home before summoning its owner and his son for investigation.

On the other hand, hundreds of settlers stormed overnight Kifl Haris town north of Salfit where they performed Talmudic rituals at Islamic historical shrines under Israeli forces’ protection.

Local sources said that Israeli forces stormed the town late yesterday and closed all roads leading to it before the arrival of several buses carrying hundreds of settlers.

Israeli 0404 website said that almost 2000 settlers stormed overnight the town under military protection and performed provocative Talmudic rituals at Muslim shrines in the village, claiming that they are “Jewish shrines that belong to Jewish prophets.”

The Israeli settlers’ break-ins to Muslim shrines have escalated due to the Passover holiday.
