Shells target Aleppo city and lead to human losses
SOHR, December 29, 2015
Aleppo province:
Rose to 11 the number of civilians who were killed by rebel shells in
al-Ashrafia, al-Mokambo, and al-Neil street, and other areas of Shekh
Maqsoud neighborhood. Russian warplanes raided al-Malkia, Menegh
airport, and Tal Ajar, no reports of losses. Clashes took place between
regime forces and IS around Kweres military airport, reports of losses
in both sides.
One rebel was killed by clashes against IS around Mare’ town. 5 IS
were killed by clashes against SDF west of al-Furat river. Clashes took
place after midnight between Islamic battalions and regime forces backed
by Hezbollah around Aqrab area and near Damascus-Aleppo highway.
More losses and more than 80 airstrikes in Shekh Meskin town
Dar’a province: Rose to 9 the number of people who were killed by
regime’s bombardment and aerial bombardment on Shekh Meskin rebels take
majority of the dead.
Areas of Shekh Meskin town are witnessing violent clashes between
regime forces backed by Hezbollah against Islamic battalions and Jabhat
al-Nusra, the regime advanced in the town and brigade 82 what made it
able to observe the northern western neighborhoods of the town, the town
was target for 80 airstrikes by Russian warplanes.
Russian airstrikes target Lattakia countryside and clashes
continue in Mahin
Lattakia province:
Russian warplanes raided Nahia Rabiaa and its
surroundings in the Turkman mount, no reports of losses. Clashes taking
place between regime forces and Islamic battalions around al-Qasab town
in the northern countryside, reports of advances for the regime in the
area.
Homs province: Clashes took place between regime forces and IS around
Mahin town what killed 2 soldiers including a lieutenant, reports of
more losses.
Clashes take place on the west and east banks of the
Euphrates river northeast of Aleppo
SOHR had been informed that clashes are taking place between IS and
SDF in the east of Euphrates river, where SDF has started an attack on
the area in order to take control over the area located between the east
of Euphrates river and the southeastern countryside of Ayn Easa,
accompanied by flight of warplanes over the area.
Other clashes are taking place between the two parties near Tishreen
Dam’s Housing area at the west bank of the Euphrates river, amid
advancement for SDF.
The countryside of Daraa witnesses an explosion and
assassination attempts, while more people killed in the shelling and
clashes in it
Daraa Province:
A person killed due to dropping barrel bombs on the city of Nawa. In
addition, a child killed due to suspected Russuan airstrikes on the town
of al- Sheikh Meskin.
The regime forces shelled places in the
city of Inkhel, amid sporadic clashes with the rebel and Islamist
factions around the city. They also machine-gunned the town of al-
Sheikh Meskin, while the number of fighters of the rebel and Islamist
factions who were killed in clashes with the regime forces and allied
militiamen around the town has risen to 6.
Unknown gunmen
targeted a car belongs to Jabhat al- Nusra in the town of Tal Shhab
leading to kill a fighter in Jabhat al- Nusra while others wounded. In
addition, unknown militiamen tried to assassinate a jurist of the rebel
and Islamist factions in the town of al- Jizah, where they shot him in
front of his house in the town that led to wound him.
Airstrikes target the Western Ghouta and the countryside of
Idlib
Idlib Province:
Warplanes believed Russian
carried out several raids on the town of al- Danah in the northwestern
countryside of Idlib, no information about casualties.
Tartous
Province:
An officer in the regime forces from Tartous killed in
clashes with IS around the village of Mahin in the southeastern
countryside of Homs.
Rif Dimashq Province:
The helicopters
dropped more barrel bombs on the two cities of Darayya and M’addamiyyat
al- Sham in the Western Ghouta, while the regime warplanes hit places in
Khan al- Shih area and its camp in the Western Ghouta, accompanied by
dropping barrel bombs on the area.
The regime forces
machine-gunned the road linking the town of Ayn Terma and the
neighborhood of Jobar on the outskirts of the capital, accompanied with
violent clashes with the rebel and Islamist factions in several areas in
the Eastern Ghouta.
The number of civilians who were killed in
shelling the town of Zebdin in the Eastern Ghouta by the regime forces
has risen to 6, including at least a child.
More civilians killed in al- Mayadin city, while shelling
targets the countryside of Hama
Deir Ezzor Province:
2 women and a child killed in aerial bombardment on the city of al-
Mayadin in the east of Deir Ezzor this afternoon, the death toll is
expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation.
Hama Province:
The regime warplanes hit places in the village of al- Tloul al- Homor
in the southern countryside of Hama.
The regime forces shelled
places in the town of al- Latamnah in the northern countryside of Hama
and the town of Qal’at al- Madiq in the western countryside of Hama.
13 members in the regime forces among the 32 people killed
today in the two explosions that rocked the neighborhood of al- Zahraa
Homs Province:
So far, it is confirmed that there are 13 members in the regime
forces, including 4 officers, among the 32 people who were killed today
in the two explosions that rocked the neighborhood of al- Zahraa, vast
majority of its inhabitants are Alawites, in the center of Homs. The two
explosions caused dozens of people to be wounded, some of them still in
critical situation.
Clashes took place between the regime forces
and allied militiamen against the rebel and Islamist factions on the
southern outskirts of Talbisah city in the northern countryside of Homs.
Other clashes between IS against the regime forces and allied militiamen
are still taking place around the village of Mahin in the southeastern
countryside of Homs, certain information about advancement for the
regime forces and completing their control over the hill around the
village, information about more casualties on both sides.

At least 6 people killed in airstrikes on the northern countryside of
Aleppo, and the Operation Room of Mare’ abrogate the agreement with al-
Thuwar Army and PYD after 10 days of signing it.
Aleppo Province:
The regime warplanes attacked places in the village of Toqad in the
western countryside of Aleppo killing at least a child , while other
warplanes believed Russian hit places in the two villages of Tal Msibin
and Tal Jbin, the towns of Deir Jamal and Tal Ref’at as well as the
vicinity of I’zaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo leading to
kill 6 civilians, including a child and a woman, in Tal Ref’at while
other citizens wounded. Suspected Russian warplanes also carried out
several raids on IS-held city of al- Bab northeast of Aleppo. In
addition, warplanes struck places in the neighborhoods of the old city
of Aleppo as well as the neighborhoods of Bani Zeid and al- Sha’ar in
the city of Aleppo.
Kurdish activists accused Islamist factions
of stopping 5 busses transporting citizens on the road linking the
neighborhood of al- Sheikh Maqsoud with the city of Efrin, where they
detained them coincided with the tensions and clashes that are taking
places between YPG and SDF against Jabhat al- Nusra, the rebel and
Islamist factions around Efrin and al- Sheikh Maqsoud.

IS militants launched
shells on the town of Tal Aran in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
The regime forces shelled places in the town of al- Zirbah and the
vicinity of Khan Touman in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
On the other hand, SOHR received an announcement issued by the Operation
Room of Mare’ in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where they declared
the cancellation of the agreement held with al- Thuwar Army. The
announcement stated, “ after the Operation Room of Mare’ carried out its
duty of stopping the Kharijites of this era (Daesh) and liberarting the
village of Dwidan in the northern countryside of Aleppo, we have been
shocked because of new violation of the agreements and commitments
carried out PYD militia and al- Thuwar Army, where they have
intentionally escalated their military operation in al- Shawaghra and
al- Malkiyya areas by attacking the factions affiliated to the Operation
Room coincided by the Russian airstrikes that support them.
They have
also carried out a systematic displacement campaign against the Arab
people and the Kurdish opponents through shelling Efrin area and several
villages that refuse their presence and accusing factions that do not
exist in the area of doing this. So, the Operation Room of Mare’ affirms
abrogation of any treaty with the mentioned militias and strongly
denounces what has happened, and that all these actions target to weaken
the rebels and stab them in the back. We ask all the Syrian brothers who
suffer from the shelling carried out by PYD militias and their
supporters to be patient, so the victoty is coming, and we in the
Operation Room of Mare’ are going to do our best to protect the
civilians and stop these militias.”
It is noted that SOHR
published 10 days ago a copy of an agreement stamped by the Operation
Room of Mare’ and al- Thuwar Army and that stated “to stop bloodshed and
responding to the initiative launched by the Shura and Conciliation
Council in Aleppo, it has been agreed on the following items:
Al- Tuwar Army enters to the areas held by the Operation Room of Mare’
by vehicles determined by the Operation Room according to place, date,
numbers, quantity and the requirements’ phase.
The endorsement of al-
Thuwar Army on the eligibility of the Operation Room of supervision,
follow-up, guidance and accountability.
The members of al- Thuwar
Army stay in their posts until securing their posts and battlefronts
with the regime and Daesh (ISIS) by the Room.
The areas of Aanab,
Mrimin and Shawarghet al- Jouz shall be free from any armed presence but
the police station of the Free Police.
To release all the detainees
of both sides.
And al- Thuwar Army responds on the agreement by
an announcement declaring “the approval of the initiative launched by
the Shura and Conciliation Council in Aleppo in order to cease fire” as
what al- Thuwar Army said that it is “in accordance with our wishes and
the wishes of other parties of stopping bloodshed and turning the
weapons to the right direction that achieve the goals our revolution and
people, so al- Thuwar Army agreed on the initiative under the principal
of goals convergence and good intentions, we declared joining the
Operation Room of Mare’ as a party committed to the decisions of the
Room in terms of the distribution of tasks on all fronts with Daesh and
the regime.”
