Fifteen More Palestinians Killed in Gaza

Wednesday July 23, 2014 15:29 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News

The invading Israeli occupation terrorist army continued its bombardment of Palestinian communities in different part of the Gaza Strip, targeting homes and civilian structures, and killed at least thirteen more Palestinian, while dozens have been wounded.

Two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli missiles targeting homes in Gaza City, medical sources said.

They have been identified as Mohammad Abdul-Ra’ouf Al-Dadda, 39, and Ahmad Mohammad Bolbol, Gaza.

Remains of five Palestinians have been located under the rubble of bombarded homes in Al-Ranna area, in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Four of them have been identified as Hassan Salah Abu Jamous, 29, Mahmoud Yousuf Khalid Al-‘Abadla, 22, Nour Abdul-Rahim Al-‘Abadla, 22, Mohammed Farid Al-Astal, while the fifth remained unidentified.

An elderly man, identified as Husam Abu Hayyin, 70, along with Osama Abu Hayyin, 34, and reporter Abdul-Rahman Abu Hayyin, 24 were killed, and two were injured, when the army fired missiles into homes in Shuja’iya neighborhood, in Gaza.

Also, resident Mohammad Ziad Habib, 30, was killed when an Israeli missile struck his home in Gaza City.

Medical sources in Gaza said resident Nidal Hamad Al-‘Ejla, 25, was killed and around 30 Palestinians were injured when the army fired missiles close to the Sham’a Mosque in Gaza.

Medics also located the bodies of four Palestinians buried under the rubble of their homes that were bombarded by the invading Israeli occupation army late on Tuesday at night, in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Resident Mohammad Abu Redya and his wife Shama Shahin, have been killed after an Israeli missile struck their home, while residents Khalil Abu Jame’ and Hussam Al-Qarra were killed in different attacks, in Khan Younis.

Also, a child identified as Rabea’ Abu Qassem, 12, was killed in the Bedouin village, in northern Gaza. At least four Palestinians were injured.

It is worth mentioning that the army also fired missiles into several cemeteries in Gaza.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said 30 Palestinians, including women and children, were moved to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, suffered moderate injuries, except for two children and a man who suffered serious injuries.

The Ministry of Health said 18 Palestinians have been killed Wednesday, and at least 120 have been injured.

UNRWA School Bombed as Feared

Wednesday July 23, 2014 10:41 by Chris Carlson - 1 of International Middle East Media Center Editorial Group

An UNRWA school that has been sheltering Palestinian refugees in central Gaza came under Israeli fire on Tuesday, as previously feared by relief workers, while an inspection team was working with damage from a day earlier.

According to a United Nations official, a team with Israeli clearance was at the school in al-Maghazi when Israeli tank shelling resumed, hitting the building on Tuesday afternoon, Ma'an News Agency stated.

"Yesterday we got reports that it was shelled and so today we sent our guys down to investigate and see which side the fire came from," he said to AFP under request of anonymity:

"They went down there with Israeli clearance, and while they were there, they came under Israeli shelling."

Holes have been blown through the walls of the school and the gates have been blown off, yet no injuries have been reported.

The school has been evacuated and UNRWA has submitted an official letter about the shelling to Israel.

Over 50 Mosques Targeted Since Beginning of Gaza Offensive

Wednesday July 23, 2014 05:01 by Chris Carlson - 1 of International Middle East Media Center Editorial Group

Invading Israeli terrorist air strikes have now destroyed or seriously damaged more than 50 mosques since its assault on Gaza began, according to undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Gaza, Hassan al-Saifi.

Al-Saifi told Ma'an that Israel does not distinguish between targeting fighters, civilians, hospitals, mosques or cemeteries, and adds that he is afraid schools may be targeted in coming days.

Tens of thousands of people have now been forced to flee the Gaza Strip, seeking refuge at a small number of UNRWA schools which are located in the region. UNRWA schools have been attacked by Israel during past offensives, with both experimental and chemical weapons, including white phosphorus, which leaves its victims horribly burned and scarred, should they survive at all. The chemical fire is nearly impossible to extinguish.

However, international human rights and laws remain unenforced by world powers when Israeli actions are held in question, and the suffering of the already long-besieged coastal region continues, now, into the second week of Israel's current assault.

"People are buried in mass graves or in used family graves," al-Saifi continued, adding that hospital morgues can no longer accommodate the growing number of casualties.

Cemeteries are nearly impossible to reach, due to the constant Israeli shelling.

Including A Child, Eight Killed In Morning Bombardment In Khan Younis

Wednesday July 23, 2014 09:11 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News

Earlier at dawn, five Palestinians have been killed in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

They have been identified as Mohammad Mansour al-Bashiti, 7, Bassam Abdullah Abu T’eimi, 23, Mohammad Na’im Abu T’eimi, 25, Zeinab Abu Teir (child), and Ismael Abu Tharifa, a political leader of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Dozens Palestinians, mainly family members, have been injured while medics and rescue teams are still unable to enter the area as the army is deliberately targeting them, and preventing them from performing their duties.

Several wounded Palestinians have been moved to the Gaza European Hospital for treatment, and a number of nearby medical centers, while the army continued its attacks against different hospital and medical centers.

The invading Israeli occupation army also continued to target hospitals, medical centers, medics and journalists in different part of the Gaza Strip, as part of its ongoing aggression against the entire population of the besieged, and impoverished, coastal region.

Five Palestinians were killed by Israeli missiles and shells, in different part of the Gaza Strip, earlier Wednesday.

Hamas: IOF massacre in Khuza’a brutal war crime

[ 23/07/2014 - 10:37 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Hamas described as horrendous war crime the invading Israeli occupation forces barbaric bombardment of civilian neighborhoods in Khuza’a town to the east of Khan Younis.

Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas Movement, said in a press release on Wednesday that such war crimes will not succeed in breaking the Palestinian people’s determination.

Local sources warned of a fresh IOF massacre this time in Khuza’a town after the IOF continued to bombard the civilian population there since yesterday. The IOF declared the area a closed military zone and fired at ambulance cars that tried to enter it.

Quds Press quoted sources inside the town as saying that bodies of martyrs were scattered in the streets and inside houses.

In addition, the army bombarded the Balsam Military Hospital In Khan Younis, causing excessive property damage, and several injuries among the patients.

Media sources in Gaza said the army fired missiles into the Algerian Hospital, east of Khan Younis, and that the hospital had to be evacuated due to the intensity of Israeli shelling.

Soldiers also declared Khuza'a area in Khan Younis, a closed military zone, preventing even medics from entering it.

According to data of the Ministry of Health, the Israeli aggression, since July 8, has led to the death of 636 Palestinians, while more than 4040 have been injured.

75 Palestinians killed on the 16th day of Israeli aggression on Gaza

[ 23/07/2014 - 11:16 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Israeli terrorist occupation warplanes continued targeting civilian communities in Gaza Strip for the 16th consecutive day killing 75 Palestinians, mostly children and women, on Tuesday.

The Gaza death toll reached 632 martyrs in addition to 3752 injured, according to the Health Ministry statistics.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Ashraf Qudra confirmed that 75 Palestinians were killed during Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling on different parts of the besieged Strip on Tuesday.

Israeli airstrikes targeted an apartment in Rimal neighborhood east of Gaza City and a number of civilian targets in Khan Younis, south of the enclave.

At least one Palestinian was killed and others were injured when Israeli warplanes targeted two motorcycles in Khan Younis. An elderly man died of injuries he sustained during shelling in Rafah.

Five Palestinians were also killed during Israeli airstrikes on Palestinian homes in Gaza City; two medics were also injured during the attack.

Four members of Hajaj family were killed after bombing their home in Gaza City, while five others were killed in two airstrikes on Deir al-Balah.

Yesterday’s victims raised Gaza death toll to 632 including 162 children and 78 women in addition to 3752 injured people.

The total number of totally destroyed houses since the beginning of Israeli attacks hit 694 houses; while 14,500 others were partially destroyed, according to the Housing Ministry.

The number of Palestinians killed after 16 days of Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip had risen to 649 while the number of those wounded had reached 4040.

The Israeli occupation forces launched “Operation Protective Edge” on Gaza Strip since July 7 that started with waves of brutal air strikes, and culminated in a ground offensive last Thursday.

Dozens of houses were destroyed in the raids, some of which with civilians inside, that led to the murder of civilians, mostly women and children.

Palestinian resistance factions, for their part, retaliated to the aggression with firing rockets at Israeli targets in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Dimona.

Hamas's armed wing the Qassam Brigades declared responsibility for firing a missile on Tuesday at an Israeli fighter jet flying over the Gaza Strip.

In its brief statement issued at dawn Wednesday, the Qassam Brigades said that its air defense unit managed to target and hit on Tuesday evening an Israeli F16 fighter jet while carrying out an airstrike on Palestinian civilian homes in Dair El-Balah.

According to Palestinian sources, the fighter jet was seen burned after being directly targeted by a surface-to-air missile. The Israeli jet was forced to make an emergency landing at a military airport east of Dair El-Balah.

Israeli media sources had earlier admitted the killing of 30 Israeli soldiers, while Palestinian resistance said that Israeli casualties are far greater than declared. The Israeli army did neither confirm nor deny the attack on its fighter jet.
