Spokesman for the Health Ministry Ashraf Qudra confirmed that the child Abdulallah Abu Ghazal, 5, was killed during Israeli shelling in Beit Lahiya.

5 other citizens were killed on Thursday during Israeli airstrikes over the besieged Strip of Gaza.

In the same context, a Palestinian young man was killed and two children were injured at 11 am Thursday in the bombing of a Palestinian home in Khan Younis.

The two children were transferred to hospital where the injuries of one of them were described as serious, Qudra added.

The remains of the three unidentified martyrs were transferred to Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Gaza death toll rises to 81 and keeps mounting in addition to more than 550 injured during the Israeli countless airstrikes. Dozens of homes were also targeted.

Israeli airstrikes have continued for the third day in a row as part of the Israeli major operation against Gaza Strip. The operation has been given the code name "Operation Protective Edge."

Israeli airstrikes target dozens of civilian homes in Gaza

[ 10/07/2014 - 10:23 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

At least seven Palestinians were injured when two homes were targeted in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, by Israeli warplanes Wednesday night.

Medical and security sources told a PIC reporter that Israeli warplanes have bombed a home belonging to Fares family in Khan Younis, which led to the injury of 4 people.

Abu Salah family’s home was also targeted during the continued Israeli airstrikes over the city. Three injuries were reported during the attack, the sources added.

During the past two days, 15 homes were targeted by Israeli warplanes in Khan Younis, which led to their complete destruction in addition to 8 neighboring homes.

Along the same line, dozens of Palestinians were killed while others were injured on Wednesday after targeting several civilian homes in different parts of Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Hamas’s spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said at dawn Thursday that the Israeli policy of targeting civilian buildings regardless of the presence of children and women reflects the Israeli occupation’s failure in facing Palestinian resistance.

“Israel will regret committing these crimes against our people”, he warned.

More than 100 Palestinian homes were bombed since the start of Israeli aggression on Gaza, which led to dozens of martyrs and hundreds of injuries.

Israeli missiles take the life of 78 citizens

[ 10/07/2014 - 09:58 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Three Palestinian citizens were killed while three others sustained severe wounds Thursday morning in a barrage of Israeli airstrikes that rocked their car, moving across northern Gaza, leading to the rise of the death toll among Gazan civilians to 78.

By-standers at the scene told the PIC correspondent the casualties were rushed to al-Shifa hospital in Gaza after a drove of Israeli jets targeted their vehicle in al-Nafak street, north of the Gaza Strip.

Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, identified the martyrs as Baha Abu al-Leil, 35, Salem Qindil, 27, and Amer al-Fayoumi, 30.

According to a survey conducted by PIC reporters in Gaza, at least 78 citizens were killed so far while more than 550 others sustained severe injuries. Dozens of civilians’ homes have been reduced to rubble all along the random Israeli raids.

Death toll and the rate of injured Palestinians have been dramatically on the rise ever since the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) initiated such a brutal military campaign against the Gaza Strip over the past two days.

The raids took away the lives of dozens of Gazan children, some of whom have been identified by PIC team as follows: one-and-a-half year old child Muhammad Malaka, 4-year-old Muhammad Khalaf al-Nawasra, Abdulah Ramadan Abu Ghazal, 5,  Siraj Iyad Abd al-Al, 8, Basem Salem Kawara’a, 10, Meriam Atiya al-Arja,11, Muhammad Arif, 13, and Moussa Habib 16.

PIC survey further kept record of a moment-by-moment account of Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip, most notably the round of airstrikes that hit Palestinian civilians’ homes from early Wednesday morning to late evening.

In an earlier air raid, six civilians were killed and 12 others suffered different wounds when an Israeli warplane on Wednesday evening bombed a beach recreation center in Khan Younis.

Israel claims 117 shells fired by Palestinian resistance since Tuesday; no injuries reported

Thursday July 10, 2014 08:38 by Celine Hagbard - IMEMC News

In contrast to the Israeli attack on Gaza, which escalated on Tuesday and has resulted in 79 Palestinians killed and over 500 injured, including entire families wiped out while sleeping in their homes; the Israeli government has claimed that Palestinian fighters fired 117 shells toward Israel in the same time period, causing no deaths or injuries.
Some of the shells from Gaza appear to be aimed at Israel's cities and a nuclear reactor.

Three shells were also fired at Israel from the village of al-Arja, south of the Egyptian city of Rafah, on Wednesday evening, according to Egyptian officials.

These shells are crude constructions amounting to little more than tubes with dynamite placed inside of them, which are then fired blindly, without any possibility of aiming them. No injuries or damage have been reported from the shells.

At least one of the homemade shells allegedly hit the ground near Tel Aviv, and another in Hadera, about 100 km away from Gaza, which shows a longer range than previous shells were capable of.

On Wednesday, following a statement by Khalid Mesha'al of Hamas saying that the current Israeli government is extreme, and it is up to Israelis to change their government to end the assault on Gaza, the Israeli economy minister Naftali Bennett told Al Jazeera news agency, “Mesha'al was talking nonsense as usual”, adding “We are going to continue the pressure and step up our operation.”

Also Wednesday, the Israeli military claims to have killed five Palestinian fighters who tried to attack the Israeli military base in Zikim, in southern Israel, by swimming from Gaza and approaching the base from the water. Israeli soldiers bombed the Palestinian fighters on the beach, killing all five.

The Izzuddin Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for the attempt to infiltrate and attack the military base.
