Ghussein warns against Israeli intention to escalate its aggression on Gaza

[ 14/10/2012 - 08:23 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Head of the government information office in Gaza, Ihab Ghussein, stated that the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza reflects the Israeli internal crisis, warning against escalating aggression with the Israeli elections approaching.

"We observe the dangerous continued Israeli escalation against civilians in the Gaza Strip in light of the war crimes carried out by the occupation in systematic violation of international and humanitarian laws,"Ghussein said in a statement published on his Facebook page early on Sunday.

He stressed that this Israeli escalation, 3 Palestinians were killed on Saturday evening when the army fired a missile at two motorcycles driving in Jabalaia town and Khan Yunis, confirmed the Israeli intention to drive the Gaza strip to a new confrontation before the Israeli elections.

"This escalation carries serious implications. It reflects the internal Israeli crisis, and it comes in light of electoral competition that occupation always tried to achieve its political and electoral aims at the expense of the Palestinian innocent blood," he said.

"The unity of our people and our resistance is enough to repel this Israeli aggression," he said, stressing that the Palestinian resistance proved during the past period its ability to response to any Israeli attack.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the West Bank at dawn Monday and broke into many homes.

Israeli military sources said that 13 Palestinians were rounded up on suspicion of participating in anti-Israeli attacks.

The Israeli radio said that five Palestinians were arrested in Nablus, three in Tulkarem, and the rest in Salfit, Ramallah, and Jenin.

Palestinian sources said that the arrest campaign was coupled with forced entry into Palestinian homes and terrorizing women and children and inflicting material damage to those homes.

Local sources told PIC reporter in occupied Jerusalem that Israeli security forces arrested a 12-year-old child from his home in Bustan suburb in Silwan town, south of the Aqsa mosque.

They said that the occupation forces used police dogs in searching the house, which frightened women and children.

They said that the father of the child Muslim Ode is a member in the committee for the defense of Bustan suburb, threatened with complete demolition by the Israeli occupation authority.
