Two Civilians Injured As Troops Attack Wall Protest Near Bethlehem

Two Palestinian civilians were injured another two arrested by Israeli soldiers during the weekly anti wall protest in al-Ma’ssara village near Bethlehem, southern West Bank.

Villagers, along with international and Israeli supporters, marched from the village mosque after the midday prayers and headed towards their lands where Israel is building the wall.

Troops stopped he villagers at the entrance of their village and attacked them with batons and rifle butts, later troops used tear gas and rubber-coated-steel bullets against the un armed protesters.

Two Palestinians sustained moderate wounds due to the soldiers attack; many more were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation. Soldiers also arrested two civilians during the protest. Leaders from all political groups joined today’s protest.

Two Children Injured, Three Arrested By Soldiers In Bil'in's Weekly Wall Protest

On Friday two children were injured, along with three other civilians, as Israeli troops attacked the weekly nonviolent protest in Bil’in village, central West Bank.

This week’s demonstration in Bil’in was conducted in solidarity with the Israeli settlement boycott movement.

Palestinians, Israelis and internationals gathered to protest not only the wall, but also to promote the boycott of goods produced in West Bank Israeli settlements.

Participants were given literature detailing the dozens of products that are produced on Palestinian land and billed as Israeli products for global markets.

Demonstrators marched to the Wall and attached boycott posters on the fence before Israeli soldiers entered the gate and aggressively fired tear gas into the crowd. Two children, including a mentally disabled boy, were injured as a result.

Three Israelis were arrested during the Israeli incursion: one journalist and two activists, Tali and Hamtal. Dozens suffered tear gas inhalation.

The demonstration was attended by a group of visiting students from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and students from al-Quds University.

Iyad Burnat spoke to the group about the village’s efforts to resist the confiscation and destruction of their land.

Haitham al-Khatib’s film, Life on Wheels, was shown, along with a film about the life and death of Bassem Abu Rahme, who was killed by Israeli forces in Bil’in last April at a non-violent demonstration.

Troops Attack Villagers Of Nabi Saleh And Injure One

One civilian was injured, and dozens suffered from the effects oftear gas inhalation as Israeli troops attacked, on Friday, the villagers of Nabi Saleh's anti wall protest in central West Bank.

Villagers, along with their international supporters, marched after the midday prayers from the village mosque to their lands were Israeli is building the wall.

As soon as villages reached the construction site of the wall troops there used tear gas and sound bombs to suppress protesters.

Kamal al-Rimawi was hit by a tear gas canister in his face. He was moved to a hospital in the nearby Ramallah city for treatment. Many other villagers were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Troops chased residents back to the village and tried to take over homes there, local youth clashed with the invading forces, no injuries were reported in the clashes.
