Israeli Occupation Soldiers Force Palestinian Child to Drink Sewage Water

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) beat up a Palestinian child in Al-Khalil district after arresting him for alleged involvement in throwing stones at them then forced him to drink sewage water.

The IOF troops detained the child at the entrance to Beit Ummar village, north of Al-Khalil, where they have been imposing a tightened siege for the past week, closing all its entrances using concrete blocs and iron gates.

The 15-year-old child Sabri Awad told Al-Jazeera net that the IOF soldiers detained him at the entrance to the village last Friday and handcuffed him before taking him in an army jeep.

The soldiers beat him for two hours in the jeep and used him as a human shield to ward off stone throwing youths, he said.

Sabri added that the soldiers questioned him about throwing stones at them but he denied and they continued beating him during which time they forced him to drink fetid water, which he believes was sewage water. He said he vomited and the soldiers beat him again.

Sabri said that he was still suffering from the beatings especially in his face and feet, adding that the soldiers then threw him out of the jeep along with a teargas bomb near him before speeding away.

A Palestinian child, 15 years old, revealed to the Qatar-based, Aljazeera, details on how Israeli occupation soldiers kidnapped him, struck him and forced him to drink untreated sewage water at the entrance of Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank.

The child, Sabri Ibrahim Awad, told Aljazeera that Israeli occupation soldiers stopped him at the entrance of Beit Ummar and used him as a human shield during clashes with Palestinian youths.

The child was cuffed and forced to stand in front of military jeeps before he was moved to one of the jeeps where he was beaten by several soldiers.

He stated that he was heading to a festival in solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners detained by Israel.

He was beaten for approximately two hours before the soldiers occupation forced his face into sewage water. He was beaten even more when he threw-up the sewage water forced into his throat.

Currently Sabri is suffering from bruises and sharp pain in his legs and face, with clear marks and bruises around his eyes.

Before he was released, soldiers threw him on the ground, hurled a gas bomb that fell near him, and drove away.

The Israeli army sealed Beit Ummar six days ago after closing all of its iron gates and placed concrete blocks on main roads leading to it.
