Photos that appear to show US soldiers in Iraq sitting on hooded and handcuffed detainees are seen on a commercial photo-sharing Web site operated by a woman who said her husband brought the photos from Iraq after his tour of duty. The Navy SEALs have launched a criminal investigation into the photographs. Date stamps on some photos suggest they were made in May 2003, which could make them the earliest evidence of possible abuse of prisoners in Iraq. (AP Photo).

Military's media manipulation demands more investigation

It appears as though mainstream U.S media sources have still not learned their lessons! After four years of self censorship, the inability to face reality or question the government, has yet to wane. This lack of moral courage by our media has resulted in a substantial number of Americans believing that Saddam Hussein possessed nuclear and biological weapons (which were long ago proven to be false by many sources world wide) and that he was seeking to purchase yellow cake uranium from Niger (also proven to be a lie!).

These lies, along with many others, has allowed this administration to pursue a scorched earth foreign policy, originally drawn up in 1998 by U.S Republicans, founded upon the warped ideology of moral and cultural superiority to the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, with Bush's re-election, he and his support base has been given a blank check to disregard world concern and continue policies which have resulted in thousands of people world wide facing death and suffering!

As bad as the previous four years were, look for the same reckless, destructive foreign policy to continue in this term, all because no one has the courage to stand up and question!

Victims of Occupation

Dear Editor,

The article by Ms Cornish on Iraqi women is so very biased that it is doing a disservice to Iraqi women. Even if everything presented was the cold hard truth I have to take it with a pinch of salt because as far as Ms Cornish is concerned it is all the fault of the US. Sorry, dear Iraqi ladies, you are being used by Westerners with their own agenda once again.

Children and Civilians in Iraq and Palestine

It just tears my heart out each day when I read of the deaths of the children and civilians of Iraq and Palestine.
