Dear Editor,

Thank you for publishing Mr. Saddam Hussein's letter (July 22, 2006). I have been greatly moved by his letter and wish he could know that what he states only confirms what most Americans truly want also. Peace and the Right to Live and Let Live. I do find it hard to accept Mr Hussein's practices during the 80's. People are people regardless of anyone else's views of them.

How our US government has progressed to status of "the world's ruler" as they perceive themselves, is beyond me and any other average American. I have not voted since I was 18 years old because I've not wanted anything to do with the "corrupt ways of our government." I felt by voting I would be contributing to the evilness of it. But now at 49, I have re-registered to vote in the upcoming elections. The ways of our government are demonic, seemingly only led by the "want of power and the greed of money." Changes need to be made. Our government is poisoning our children and our people by the foods and products that are allowed on our stores shelves due to "money controlled lobbyists and money controlled politicians." Ill health, obesity and poor mental health are so prevalent that it is frightening. The additives, the pesticides, the over-processing and the sugar content are polluting the minds and destroying the bodies of our people, just so the medical professions and the pharmaceutical companies can continue on their path of riches. I believe it's a plan, because - if the American people do not feel well, they will not refute.

By and large, we are all "just people" on this planet with a "soul" that connects us to our God, Allah, Great Spirit, Buddha........what we call our Divinity does not matter. If we all acted with conscience and love for our fellow man, we would have a beautiful world.

Mr. Hussein's letter only confirms what the "Good" Americans believe....... and that is "Get rid of this government and let goodness rule with a loving guidance." I do not follow any particular religion, was brought up Catholic and now despise them for their pompous lies and stolen riches when so many of the world's children are starving and in pain. I am spiritual and find God in my own heart and soul and do my best to live by the Golden Rule, trying to be Kind, Good and Giving.

I wish Peace and Blessings for Mr. Hussein, the Iraqi people and all good people of this world.

Please know our government does not represent what most people in this country of ours want. When we have the choice of being Right or Being Kind........we should all Choose "Being Kind." If we did..........it would be paradise.
