The Bush Regime's priorities W. Rodgers Al-Jazeerah, 9/20/03
The United Kingdom has been forced to publicly confront the "exaggerations" and "deceptions" by the Blair government run-amok in his zeal to play war-games on the world stage with Bush. Blair was warned in advance, that Saddam Hussein posed no threat to other countries, and should the U.S.A. & U.K. invade Iraq, the war itself would instigate increasing terrorism, making the world less safe. The Bush Regime and poodle-Blair desperately wanted warfare, for:-- Glory? Their delusions of grandeur made them fantasize themselves as neo-Churchills ... Power? The neo-con ideologues want Pax-Americana & PNAC (Project for the New American Century - neo-hiterlian hegemony) ... Money? Follow the money: Halliburton, Bechtel, Carlyle Group, Lockheed Martin, Chevron, BP, etc. are popping-open the champagne as they celebrate the war-profiteering, war-booty, looting and rape of America and Iraq. America hasn't had to face the fact that we've been bamboozled, conned & scammed, by propaganda, because the Bush Regime hit the Trifecta: (1) Ignorant public, with 7 out of 10 Americans actually believing the bogus lie that Saddam Hussein was somehow involved in 9/11 ... One wonders, if Cheney spewed that Clinton & Lewinsky planned the 9/11 attack, whether or not 10 out of 10 would blindly nod like dumb sheep. (Read "Cheney link of Iraq, 9/11 challenged" by Anne E. Kornblut and Bryan Bender on http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2003/09/16/cheney Instead of educating our public, the Bush Regime ruthless exploits their ignorance and plays on their fears, immorally using them to achieve pernicious objectives. Why don't Americans show true courage and face the truth of the atrocities committed in their name? Where is America's sense of decency? (2) Compliant and cheer-leading media and press, (intimidated by Herr Fuhrer Rove) who genuflect in front of the Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, Wolfowitz, Bolton, Feith, and the neo-con court jesters. (Read "Amanpour: CNN Practiced Self-Censorship" by Peter Johnson on http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0915-03.htm ) Instead of respecting the right of the media and press to inform the population, the Bush Regime uses neo-fascist outlets like Rupert Murdoch's Fox Network to pass-along lies and propaganda. They intimidate and coerce other media outlets to act as cheer-leaders, accusing them of aiding and abetting the enemy, if they dare to question the Bush Regime's policies. Where are the courageous journalists willing to stand in opposition to tyranny? Why don't the new agencies inform the public on the daily horrors in Iraq? (Refer to Robert Fisk's reports from Iraq on http://www.robert-fisk.com ) (3) Rubber-stamp Congress that bows reverently to the Bush Regime's demands to squander lives and treasure to enrich their corporate cronies. Congressional collaborators claim that it's good for people to "struggle": Apparently it's good for poor and working people to live miserable lives in order for the corporate robber-barons and obese "top dogs" and "fat cats" to live like Emperors Tiberius & Caligula rampantly raping and ravaging the populations and natural resources of America and Iraq. (Read "In Britain, accountability on Iraq" by James O. Goldsborough on http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/op-ed/goldsborough/ 20030915-9999_mz1ed15golds.html) Instead of investigating into the Bush Regime's lies, the Congress smiles and nods obediently as we massacre hundreds of U.S. & British Soldiers (>343 to-date) and thousands of innocent Iraqis (>7800 to-date), and squander over $72 Billion thus far ($4 Billion/Month), with no end in sight, no exit strategy, and no plan except to enrich Bush's corporate cronies: (Discover Bush's War-Profiteers on : http://www.worldpolicy.org/projects/arms/updates/081203.html and http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/091003/opi_myturn.shtml Why aren't Congress condemning the Bush Regime's request for an additional $87 Billion (making the costs $166 Billion authorisation), and screaming that their tax-cuts and boon-doggles for corporations and the wealthiest among us, are repealed TODAY? Why isn't Congress more concerned about the good of America, than protecting the corrupt Bush Regime? Where are the Congressional Patriots willing to fight for the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights? The Bush Regime's priorities are "sexed-up" as they swindle the American public into thinking that by giving massive tax-cuts and lavish gifts to corporations and the richest-of-the-rich, and starving and killing social programs that aide those in need, forcing them to "struggle"-- that this is a "good for the economy". Read "Handing Out Hardship Is this the Bush administration's idea of fiscal discipline?" by E. J. Dionne Jr., on http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A15664- The Bush Regime's philosophy is to impoverish workers by raping the economy, forcing us into desperation, in order to accept whatever measly jobs with no protections, no rights, no overtime-pay, no nothing-- thus, creating bloated profits for swindlers like Bush's buddy, Kenny-boy (Enron) Lay to wantonly embezzle. Moreover, if your kids breathe polluted air and no longer can visit natural wildlife preserves ... too bad, that's the "price of freedom". Meanwhile, the callous and corrupt Bush Regime are using Iraq as a "shooting-gallery" to attract terrorists (how wonderful for the 25 Million Iraqis who are "liberated"), and the U.S. and British Soldiers who are targets and cannon-fodder-- while the Bushies and their corporate cronies, sleep 'safe-and-sound' at night, since their loved-ones are not in any danger. The Miserable Failures running the American Regime, have established insane foreign and domestic priorities that are "sexed-up" failures. But, then again, the Bush Regime are lucky, because they hit the Trifecta! Their message to Americans and Iraqis who have lost loved-ones and are living in miserable conditions: "Stuff happens."
