Three Palestinians Shot Dead by Israeli Occupation Forces in Gaza and West Bank

PALESTINE, July 4, 2004 (IPC+ Agencies)--

Three Palestinian citizens were shot dead, including one died of wounds, on Sunday and yesterday in different parts of the Gaza Strip and West Bank, IPC correspondent reported.

In the West Bank, an unknown dead body was found early on Sunday dawn close to the Israeli squatterment (illegitimate settlement) of Har Brakha, near the Nablus City.

Israeli sources said that the IOF soldiers, manning the said settlement, spotted the said Palestinian while attempting to infiltrate into the settlement, apparently to launch an attack, then they fired him with live bullets, causing his fatal death.

On yesterday, the IOF killed Mahmoud Lahwani, 18, after having been broken into the Balata refugee camp of Nablus.

Medical sources confirmed that Lahwani was shot and wounded critically in his head, a thing led to his fatal death shortly after being wounded.

Meanwhile, Palestinian local sources in the camp reported that four inhabitants were shot and wounded by IOF fire, identified as a woman, two children and another older resident.

In the West Bank City of Jenin, IOF arrested early on Sunday three Palestinian locals of the Deir Abu Deaif village, east of the City, eyewitnesses told IPC’s.

The eyewitnesses asserted that tens of IOF soldiers, backed by armored vehicles, stormed the village and launched a wide-scale search campaign among local houses, leading to the arrest and taking to unknown destinations of the said three Palestinians.

In the Ramallah City, IOF held today morning a number of inhabitants at a military checkpoint, 150 meters away from the notorious Qualandia roadblock, which isolates Ramallah from the occupied east Jerusalem.

Eyewitnesses told IPC’s that several Israeli border police personnel stopped scores of citizens at the said checkpoint, preventing them access into the area.

In another development, a number of IOF vehicles swept yesterday overnight into the West Bank City of Qalqilia, and imposed a strict curfew there, while IOF soldiers searched the houses.

Also in Qaqlilia, IOF arrested a Palestinian citizen near the Azzoun Atma area.

Concurrently, a group of mob Jewish Israeli squatters (illegal settlers) of the squatterment (illegitimate Israeli settlement) of Karni Shamroun, which is established on Kufer Laqef village’s lands, assaulted on some local Palestinian Shepherd, causing the injury with a live bullet of one of them.

In the meantime, Yousef Nasrallah, 19, died yesterday night of wounds he sustained on May11, 2004 after the Israeli troops raided the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and opened heavy fire on local inhabitants, killing some of them and wounding others.

As of today, Hesham Ayesh Abu Amra, 22, of the Rafah City, south of the Gaza Strip, was shot and wounded critically in his right eye after an IOF convoy advanced from the eastern part of the Palestinian-Egyptian borders, mainly at the Dehniya area, into the adjacent Barazil neighborhood, and opened fire on the area, Palestinian security sources said.

Such an injury due to an Israeli indiscriminate fire, came after IOF, stationed at the illegitimate Israeli settlement of Jani Tal, opened their random fire yesterday on the nearby Palestinian neighborhood of Alrabawat Algharbi in the southern Gaza Strip City of Khan Younis. No casualties were reported.
