LaRouche in California

Glen Mesaros, 9/15/03

Immediately below is the transcript of the first five minutes of LAROUCHE'S opening remarks to the SEPTEMBER 11, 2003 Los Angeles press conference, in which he discussed the strategic implications of the assassination of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh, in very precise formulations, before launching into his intervention against the recall and deregulation.

From Lyn's press conference opening:

``First, the announcement from Sweden today, that Anna Lindh, the Foreign Minister, died today, as a result of internal bleeding, caused by an assassination attack on her yesterday: The significance of this, is that the perpetrator is not known. The circumstances are interesting, and of international importance. She had no security. Whether this was her fault, or someone else's fault, will have to be assessed.

``We are now in a period, since late 2002, in which the Synarchist International, associated with a fellow in Spain, a former official of the Franco regime, known as Blas Pinar, has been highly active throughout the world, in his network of organizations, which has significance [going back] to the 1970s, as primary covers for assassination attacks, such as that of Aldo Moro--his kidnapping and assassination,--and the Bologna train-station bombing.

``These precise groups are being reactivated more and more. They are small groups, generally speaking, as political groups, but they serve as covers, of one kind or another, for actual terrorist or assassination attacks. The problem is, we are in a period in which we must expect organizations such as the Synarchist International to deploy sometimes confusing types of terrorist operations against targets which they think will have some type of dramatic significance in the political process.

``The reason I'm here, of course, is the California Recall election, and its implications, not only for the 2004 Presidential elections, which ought to be fairly obvious, and also on the national deregulation and related policies -- we are in a dereg crisis. And these issues posed in California require my presence on the scene, to demonstrate my commitment on this issue, against Recall, and for the repeal of deregulation; and for the exposure of the roll of Cheney and others in the 2001-2002 period, of the deregulation rip-off of the state of California.'' ---

LYNDON LAROUCHE SEPT. 11 CALIFORNIA PRESS CONFERENCE

Lyndon LaRouche, candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination, held a one-hour and forty-five-minute press conference in Burbank on Sept. 11. Harley Schlanger, West Coast spokesman for the LaRouche in 2004 campaign, opened the press conference by introducing those seated on the dais with LaRouche: Nevada State Sen. Joe Neal, an early leader in the fight to stop energy deregulation, and Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee members Sky Shields and Nick Walsh, leaders of the LaRouche Youth Movement. He then introduced LaRouche as the candidate who was second in the number of individual contributions among all the Democratic Presidential candidates, and who had come to the state to stop Cheney's "dirty operation in California." The morning press conference was attended by KTTV (Channel 11), a Fox News affiliate, the Arab-American Press Guild, Al-Arab, the Free World Alliance (Enigma TV), and the City News (Chinese). At the conclusion of the press conference, Schlanger was interviewed on K-Mozart 105.1, the largest Classical music station in Los Angeles. The thirty-minute interview with Barbara Fouch, Time Changes, will air Sunday, 11PM. Associated Press released a short wire on the press conference Thursday night. LaRouche said he would cover four topics in his opening remarks. First, the assassination of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh, who was stabbed in a department store and died early this morning. The assassin is unknown; whether the lack of any security protection was her decision or someone else's, we don't know. But, since 2002, the Synarchist International has been re-forming groups, under people like Blas Pinar, which will be used as cover for the assassination of political leaders, as was done in the 1970s in the case of Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro. These small groups will be used for terror; to create a period of confusion over political parties. Second, LaRouche said the California Recall is connected to the 2004 Presidential campaign and deregulation: "My presence is needed to expose Cheney. We must repeal the recall." We must, LaRouche said, go back to a regulated system of distribution of power. If not, the blackout in the Northeast will be repeated many times. He pointed to the "Sovereign States of the Americas" pamphlet, planned to be released next week, stemming from his intervention in Coahuila, Mexico, as showing what U.S. policy should be, citing NAWAPA as an example of integration of common needs of both the U.S. and Mexico across the border. The largest single immigrant group in the U.S. is of Hispanic descent. Proposition 187 [to deny all social services to illegal immigrants] is a "racist abomination" that should be expunged. California typifies American culture: There are Hawaiians, Alaskans, Asians--it's a "melting pot" state, in a melting pot nation. It is also oriented to the Pacific. California typifies a state where these ideas are crucial. LaRouche discussed the degeneration caused by one terrifying crisis after another in the 1960s, that led the population into "pleasure-seeking." But today there are few rich Americans; the U.S. has become a predatory nation that has run out of fat to feed upon. Turning to his rivals, LaRouche said, "My nine rivals are not in the real world. They won't talk about any real issues," like the cancer of Iraq, the cancer of the Middle East, the deteriorating relations with other nations, the genocide in Africa...; they are so afraid of losing money they refuse to upset anyone who may give money. The national election began Labor Day. The chaos is in progress. The U.S. must go back to the FDR '33 approach, and become a producer nation, rather than a predatory nation. We can't continue sucking the blood of Mexicans. Accept the chaos; it's a precondition for change. The DNC's nine candidates will continue to flounder. The real world will take them "by the nape of the neck and say, `Pay attention! We're reality.'"

The first question was from Free World Alliance: What about the no on Recall, and what about Bush's request for $87 billion for Iraq, with the economy in shambles. LaRouche replied to the second question first: Why not speak candidly; 9/11 came from inside the U.S., not outside. It's like Goering setting fire to the Reichstag. This is a geo-political determination by circles I've been fighting since 1990-91 -- a policy of slaughter that Cheney has been running since then. Cheney was involved in privatization of the U.S. military. The $87 billion is for Halliburton. Bremer is a personal enemy of mine. The U.S. is being ripped off and Bush is promising to pay the bill. On the Recall: Bustamante is a Judas Iscariot trying to call himself a Christian. He's tied to organized crime and John Irwin, III. The operation is, the Indian [casinos] go bankrupt, and then the sovereign territory is taken over. "Bustamante is Joe Lieberman's patsy in California."

Question about Leo Strauss and Trotskyites, and neo-cons pushing Arnie, and does that make Arnie a communist-Nazi? LaRouche: Strauss was a fascist from the get-go; a nazi in spirit who was born a Jew. The synarchists are a cult created by merchant bankers. The Sept. 11 attack was a typical Synarchist operation; an atrocity so monstrous that people will kiss the foot of the beast-man.

Question on Schwarzenegger. LaRouche: He's a professional freak show entertainer. Referenced "Nightmare Alley" and swallowing turkey buzzards. Send him back to the circus.

Question on the UN in Iraq. LaRouche: The U.S. should withdraw from Iraq, get the UN in. The U.S. is not qualified to be there. Police don't know when to stop shooting. The entire Arab world has lost confidence in the U.S. Egypt and Iran are terrified. None of these nations can look to the Democratic Party's nine fools. Turn Iraq over to the UN. The Iraqis, though there are Iraqis, Kurds, and different groups, have a sense of a nation. We are in a stage of a crossover to a revenge factor.

Question from Free World Alliance: Should Hitler lovers, love Bush? LaRouche: These neo-nazis are not really Hitler lovers, but much more obsessed with the destructive power of [Friday the 13th's] "Freddie." Some did not escape adolescence with their sanity at the end of World War II. British and American elements brought nazis back with Operation Gladio. The intent was that people would love the destructive quality; people would love the beast-man, they would be so terrified of what would happen if they don't.

Question from Free World Alliance: What about the financial system collapsing? LaRouche: I lived through the 30s. The depression, the war, FDR's difficult alliance with Churchill. At the end of World War II, the Synarchists began to move toward world dictatorship; the bombing of Hiroshima, the terror bombing of Tokyo, the Cold War. People fighting against colonialism were turned back at the bayonet point. Bertrand Russell said, `Kill everyone on the planet, and you'll get peace!" In the '50s, Trumanism said, "Watch out for your neighbor--you'll be overheard..." In the '60s, there was the series of assassinations of the Kennedys, King, the Cuban Missile Crisis--and people turned to pleasure-seeking, because they were terrified. We lost our production, our transit... and we got shrink-wrapped shacks.

Question: What do you propose to do about it? LaRouche: Use the FDR experience, and the Preamble to the Constitution. Take the $87 billion--why not spend it on restoration of the national power grid? That would be a good start. To build a grid, you have to know who your consumers are; how are they related geographically. You have to cope as demography changes. How cheaply can you produce, and what quantity can you produce? Electricity is a key requirement for economy--the fuel of the economy. Water is the same.

Question: What about the Federal Reserve? LaRouche: It's bankrupt. Do what the government does to any bankrupt entity...

Question Free World Alliance: What about "impeach Bush"? LaRouche: It's a fraud. Nine Presidential candidates in the Democratic Party are running against Bush--not campaigning against Cheney, but running against Bush! No. Get Cheney and the Straussians out right now. To impeach Bush is to impeach Little Red Riding Hood, to get the Wolf! Bush is like a gila monster; slow, and poisonous.

Question: Arnold has Nazi connections; Bush has Bohemian Grove Connections; why don't people see what Bush and his father really are? LaRouche: The people don't understand. That's the job of leadership. Be a shepherd. Sheep eat poisonous things. Shepherds have to make sure they don't. Leadership is not giving orders; it's the courage to face the truth. I'm running against "nine fugitives from reality." They say, you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. The job of the shepherd is to stand for the truth. Most people think about "me," or their families. If you are serious about politics, you are told to "go along, to get along." Kerry knows it was a crime to support the Iraq war, but is afraid to admit it. There are young people gathered around me who are capable of leadership. They can't solve every problem, but they have demonstrated real leadership in political situations.

Question from Nick Walsh: Why did MacArthur warn against a land war in Asia? What is different in Asian culture from American culture? LaRouche: Describes the asymmetric responses now being developed in response to the neo-con control of Bush: deep submarines which can deposit nuclear weapons all over the shores of U.S. rivers; systems that can take down information systems, etc. Look at the Vietnam body count; it was always great, but there was no number of people lost that would cause them to surrender. When these nations are faced with extinction, they will refuse to surrender. European civilization has a different development, coming out of the Renaissance. Religious warfare is a problem in Western civilization. We cannot start religious wars.
