QUOTES

US Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld: "While the conflict is well begun, it has only begun."

Actor Martin Sheen, who was gagged for an anti-war protest, in his statement read by a protester: "By some demented form of logic, the men, women and children of Iraq are relegated to 'collateral damage' as the dogs of war slouch toward Baghdad."

"Take him out. Make sure you know what you are aiming at," a voice on a US military radio to the Marine sharpshooters on a highway to Baghdad, before calling off the gunners seven minutes later, "it may have been livestock moving."

Bush: "This isn't a matter of timetable, it's a matter of victory. And the Iraqi people have got know that, see. They got to know that they will be liberated and Saddam Hussein will be removed, no matter how long it takes."
