Israeli Occupation Forces Shoot Dead Palestinian Mother of Two On her Way to University 14/12/2003 Palestine Media Center – PMC Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed a Palestinian man early Sunday, only one day after shooting dead a mother of two in a taxi at a military roadblock and wounding several others in separate onslaughts in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Early Sunday, IOF shot and killed Riyadh Fakhri Khalifah al-Sayes in the village of Kufr Nameh, some nine miles west from the West Bank city of Ramallah, claiming the martyr was an armed Islamic Jihad member. Two other Palestinians, Raed Nassar and Amjad al-Deik, were also injured. IOF claimed the martyr had a semi-automatic weapon and rounds of ammunition. Later, Israeli occupation troops arrested two more Palestinians in Kufr Nameh, claiming they were Islamic Jihad members. Kufr Nameh natives said IOF troops raided the village before dawn and imposed a curfew. Separately early Saturday the IOF opened fire on a taxi, killing a female passenger at an Israeli roadblock in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The driver of the taxi was also injured. Palestinian medical sources said the 20-year-old Palestinian Kamilah Mohammad Asaad al-Shouli, a mother of two from Asirah al-Shamaliyah, was on her way to her classes at al-Najah University in Nablus. She died immediately after being hit by two bullets to the chest, the medics said. Palestinian medics and witnesses said al-Shouli and another seven passengers from the village of Asira al-Shamaleya had been on their way to Nablus before sunrise to avoid early IOF patrols in the area. Early Saturday, the taxi approached one roadblock set up near the village of Jet, between Nablus and Qalqilya, IOF said. Occupation soldiers claimed the taxi driver ignored their orders to stop and circumvented the roadblock, according to an IOF statement. Thousands of Palestinians were stranded for hours at the entrances of Nablus as IOF sealed off the northern West Bank city after shooting dead the female passenger. Also late Saturday, five Palestinians, including three children and a 45-year-old Palestinian lady, were wounded when IOF tanks shelled the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis. Four more Palestinians were wounded a day earlier when IOF opened fire at Gaza City’s eastern al-Zaytoun neighborhood. On Friday, the Palestinian death toll of the IOF invasion of the southern Gaza Strip Rafah refugee camp early Thursday rose to six and the number of wounded to more than 20, mostly seriously, including four children and a 38-year-old lady. Also on Friday the IOF demolished the house of martyr Majed Abu Dosh in the southern West Bank town of Dura near Hebron.
