MALAYSIA has relaxed its visa rules for nationals of South Asian countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The relaxation covers citizens of these countries who are working in the Middle East, a Press release issued by the Malaysian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said yesterday.

Visas will be granted upon arrival in Malaysia, the release said. Only 'single entry on arrival visas' will be issued for sub-continent nationals with expatriate status in the Middle East as well as for their accompanying families and domestic helpers.

On arrival visas may be obtained by filling in a visa application form. The applicant must produce proof that he or she holds an important post at expatriate level in a Middle East-based company.

The applicant must hold a travel document/passport of his country of origin, which is valid for at least six months. The wife, other family members or domestic helpers of expatriates must arrive and submit their applications together with the application made by husband, head of family or employer.
