An Israeli settler-soldier, Eden Natan Zada, shot dead four Palestinian-Israelis and injured 13 others, in a bus. He opened his fire on the passengers because they expressed  their support for withdrawal from 
Gaza. The settler was killed and his crime was condemned by both Israeli and Palestinian government, as a terrorist act (Alquds Alarabi, 8/5/05).

British member of Parliament, George Galloway, criticizing Blair's recent measures. He and the British Muslim leader Tariq Ali called on Blair to resign for involving Britain in a war against the Muslim world. They were talking in an anti-war rally in London yesterday (Alquds Alarabi, 8/6/05).
Thousands of Palestinian Israelis carrying coffins of the martyrs killed by an extremist Israeli settler-soldier in Shafa Amr yesterday (Alhayat Aljadeeda, 8/6/05).

Iraqi fire-fighters douse flames from an exploded fuel tanker train carriage on Thursday in the Dora area of Baghdad, Iraq. A train carrying fuel exploded into flames when a trackside bomb struck a fuel tank carriage, killing two people, police said. - AP (Khaleej Times,, 7/28/05).

 

 
Iraqi women supporters of the Sunni Islamic Party protesting assassination of Sunni religious leaders and against house searches conducted by US-led forces in Baghdad yesterday  (Annahar, 7/30/05). 
Captured Iraqi President, Saddam Hussain, during appearance before US-Backed Iraqi government court yesterday. Saddam was attacked by a man in the court and he had to defend himself with his hands. Saddam was considered as a prisoner of war by US forces, which is supposed to protect him against trial ! (Annahar,, 7/30/05).
 
Algerian President, Boutafliqa, may not attend the Arab summit conference that was called for by the Egyptian President, Mubarak. Boutafliqa is the President of the Arab League Summit for this year. He was upset over the way Mubarak wanted the conference to convene. Algerian officials reported that the summit would serve the Mubarak re-election campaign, not pan-Arab interests. (Alquds Alarabi, 8/1/05). 
Former Saudi Crown Prince, Abdullah, was swiftly pronounced the new King of Saudi Arabia after the death of his brother, King Fahd (Khaleej Times, 8/1/05).
Sudanese Vice President, John Garang, was killed in a helicopter crash yesterday. Riots broke out in three cities in response to the news. (Assafir,, 8/1/05).
