Tantawi, 20, was shot and killed yesterday night after an
Israeli Occupation Forces contingent stormed the Balata refugee
camp, east of Nablus, under a barrage of heavy gunfire and tear
gas canister shooting, medics and eyewitnesses reported. The
unprovoked Israeli occupation raid also resulted in several

in Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, July
17,2004. Palestinian gunmen on Saturday freed the last two
remaining French hostages they had seized to press their demands
for sweeping reforms by President Yasser Arafat. Abu Qusai,
leader of the militants who kidnapped the civilians, told
Reuters by telephone that the hostages were freed after
intervention by Arafat, U.N. officials and the French consulate
