The Israeli occupation destruction of the border area between Palestine and Egypt in Rafah resembled the 1948 Catastrophe when 1.3 million Palestinians became stateless and about a million of them became homeless refugees. About 300 of the Rafah homes were destroyed by the ruthless Israeli occupation forces leaving about 1,500 of the camp residents homeless again (Assafir, 10/13/03).
