Famous Quotes about War&Peace #49

"I think the residents of Fallujah don't want this sort of peace. They want a real peace, not a peace
that stabs in the back and strikes and destroys homes and kills women and children."

Sheikh Khaled al-Jumaili

Chief Fallujah Representative

When Christians Bomb in Revenge

Dear Editor,

When Muslims retaliate in self defence when provoked, they are called Islamic terrorists or freedom haters or Muslim extremists. When the Christian world bomb the Muslim schools and mosques in tit for tat revenge as what happened in the Netherlands lately, what are they called? Are they given the same massive coverage by the press? Perhaps a comparison of the scale of reporting and the terminology used for Muslim bombers and Christian bombers can be compiled which will put in perspective the bias in reporting by the Western and US media. This can be compared with the reporting by the Asian media. With this comparison, perhaps a strategy can be devised for the Asian media to counter the Western and US coverage. This is a proposal for  journalists to re-look at their diplomatic way of reporting.

Who will be America's NEXT TOP CHRISTIAN? (Jesus need not apply)

      By Jane Stillwater  http://jpstillwater.blogspot.com

In Los Angeles, they have a TV show called "Pimp My Ride".  In the red states they have a TV show called "Pimp My God".  Jesus need not apply.

Am I bitter or what?  When I was a little kid, I LOVED being a Christian.  Couldn't WAIT to go to church.  I just loved all that stuff about loving one's neighbor and turning the other cheek.  Yeah right.  Slowly I began to see what hypocrites that Christians were.  I stopped going to church for a whole bunch of years. And then I went back.

"I KNOW these guys are all hypocrites," I told myself.  "But I really do believe in Jesus."  I forced myself to go back to church.  I sat in the back pew and sang along.  I was happy.  Now here it is, 20 years later and my little back pew has become uncomfortable once again as the essence of Christianity is once again being ignored.

I LOVED being a Christian.  Ah rats.

Any one who can kill 100,000 innocent human beings in the name of the Lord has GOT to be selling us snake oil.  I can't tolerate that.  I'm sorry.  And Jesus is sorry too.  Because it means that when we have the GLORIOUS AWAKENING and Jesus comes again, cult Christians and neo-cons will use election-tampering and vote fraud to make sure that He NEVER gets elected to a second term as Messiah -- and then He will be run out of town on a rail.

Who will be America's Next Top Christian?  The one who can slaughter the most civilians in Fallugah.

****
From Jesus:  "Whatever you did for the least of us, you did for me."  Guess which unpopular liberal said that?

****
View from the Right:  NewsMax actually ran an article stating how clever William Rehnquist was to announce his cancer right before the election -- and how stupid John Edwards was to wait until after the election to announce his wife's struggle with breast cancer.
 ****
From Marvin:  The debt admitted by the Feds is 7 trillion but the actual debt -- AKA Enron-style hidden debt -- is probably closer to 20 Trillion.  I have seen so many numbers that I cannot advocate any except it is more that 7 trillion.

FAMILIES FOR PEACE IN IRAQ”

Peace Camp on the Jordanian/Iraqi Border to Call for Peace in the New Year

When: December 27, 2004-January 8, 2005

Where: The border between Iraq and Jordan

Who: US families who have lost loved ones in Iraq and on September 11,or have children serving in Iraq, Code Pink Women for Peace, Global Exchange , Guerrero Azteca Project, religious leaders and peace activists will meet with Iraqis who have lost loved ones, Iraqi religious leaders, Iraqis human rights groups and Iraqi health workers.

Why: To give visibility to this human side of the war, to build bridges of friendship between Iraqis and Americans, to jointly call for the end to the violence and occupation, to urge that US troops be replaced—if needed and desired by Iraqis—by international peacekeeping forces, to call for private corporations like Halliburton and Bechtel to withdraw their operations so that the Iraqi people can rebuild their own country, and to show the positive, compassionate face of the American people.

Text Box: “While a new Bush presidency promotes continued fighting and death, we the people will be promoting love and compassion, and will call for an end to the killing of our children.”
