What's the Conflict all about?

I am writing my thesis on the "war on Islam", nothing I have found in Western or Eastern literature has supported the fact there is an official stance by western civilisation of a "war" against the Islamic faith. The creation of Israel was no more than the homecoming of a people long displaced. Aside from the incursions of westerners during the empirical days of the British and French empires during the early 19th century I could find no real apartheid against the Islamic faith, whereas the people of Persia have attempted to enforce their mindset against the people of the West since the days of Sparta. If you could enlighten me as to a different ideal I will welcome every well thought out modecum of information you may empart,

Editor: I agree with you. There's no war between the West as a whole and the Islamic world as a whole or between Christianity and Islam or between Judaism and Islam. Rather, the conflict is purely secular for worldly benefits. The Israelis want territories and the US-UK want oil.

The same goes for the previous European imperialist invasions of Asia and Africa during the 19th and the 20th centuries. It's imperialism, the third stage of the development of capitalism, after mercantilism and colonialism.

For the creation of Israel, you need to read about Zionism and how the first Zionist conference in 1897 decided to colonize Palestine, evict Palestinians, and bring Zionist immigrants in their place.
