Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, spokesman for Neturei Karta International, announced today that the organization of anti - Zionist Jews will publicly burn the Israeli flag in a series of ceremonies around the world on “Purim” Tuesday, March 7.

"The Zionist experiment has reached its inevitable conclusion. Death tolls mount and no viable solution is in sight. Slowly the Jewish people are awakening to the reality of Zionism, its rejection of Torah views of exile and redemption, combined with its aggressive stance towards Gentiles in general and Palestinians in particular."

The Rabbi explained, "By burning the Israeli flag we are symbolically declaring that the Israeli state, contrary to its absurd claims, is not representative of the Jewish people. In fact, its denial of our faith and its brutalization of the Palestinian people, renders it antithetical to Judaism."

The timing of the flag burning is seen as particularly significant. "Tuesday is Purim, a holiday remembering the victory of faith over heresy and good over evil, in ancient times. It is appropriate that we repudiate the contemporary heresy and violence of Zionism on this day," Rabbi Weiss added.

"Zionism refuses to accept our status as people in exile. This is metaphysical impudence. It is the task of world Jewry to remain patriotic citizens of the lands of their dispersion and pursue peace with all people. In the Holy Land, this means welcoming Palestinian sovereignty over the land. Accordingly."

"The rejection of Zionism is the only path to peace. We hope that many Jews will participate in this international event."

Colin Powell and Nuclearization

One wonders if the US Secretary of State Colin Powell really knows what he is talking about in his latest foray on nuclear proliferation. He seems to have lost it. And who wouldn't having to defend the most indefensible, especially Bush.

It is unbelievable that Powell is urging the international community "to criminalize nuclear proliferation and close loopholes that "allow countries like Iran" to produce weapon-grade nuclear material". He outlined this gem as part of a seven-point action plan underlining the Bush administration's strategy for preventing the spread of NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Just who is spreading nuclear proliferation, but the United States, Britain, France, Russia, Israel. I wonder if Colon has in mind US client Israel, which can do as it pleases, arming itself with weapons of mass destruction, including 500 nuclear heads! Of course not! It is the US that is pushing for the nuclearization of space. You would wonder if Powell is even aware of such a horrendous initiative!

It is beyond imagination where Powell is coming from. If it was someone else saying the same, one would characterize him as blind, or worse still intellectually-challenged. He is not blind, but he and the Bush Administration believe the international community to be blind to swallow this latest balderdash. If he had any moral guts he would not be supporting the Bush cabal, he would have resigned long ago, he would not have supported the illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq. So, my conclusion he is one of them, and tries to pass himself off as 'different' - and the media has swallowed it - that he is 'moderate'. People like him hiding themselves in this fashion are indeed dangerous.

Powell, Bush and that cabal of neocons just cannot get it, that the US has lost all credibility in the world today. The longer Powell and co carry on the credibility will plunge to below zero, and in some ways it has already. The US has zilch credibility in urging others to halt nuclear proliferation!
