Famous Quotes about War&Peace #30

"It is the children who will be traumatized for years to come, for their entire lives. They... if they survive... will be the innocent victims of false and brutal politics. The seeds are being sown for vengeance for years to come."

Juno Sylva Englander

Hi,

There are many Americans, such as myself, who have no respect for George bush, and everything he is doing over there in Iraq. I am embarrassed for our country. I'm very sorry about what is going on.

I have seen your planted wmd reports and that is an explosive story, but for it to really stick, it needs to be substantiated with photos or videos or other proof.

If I had a lot of money, I'd give video cameras out to as many Iraqis as possible so they could create content that the world could see.

The Bush administration is just about the most dangerous thing in our world today. I hope it goes away.

Dave

Fallujah

STOP this madness

Human beings has been equipped with a language - thus they can communicate BUSH !!

Guns shall never be used in a real democracy.

For the second year the World is watching 'on screen' your (gun) version of 'democracy'.

Saddam Hussein not only look like, but is indeed an angel in comparison.

God be with him and the Iraqi people.

Al-Jazeera TV Clouds US-Qatar Ties, Says Powell

So, Powell complains about the coverage of Al-Jazeera TV in a world dominated by the likes of Fox News and CNN.

Complains such as and I quote:

"Normally, a news outlet would conduct an interview with someone, not just show tapes in their entirety that are dropped off mysteriously at some office somewhere,” one official said. “Airing tapes of known terrorists calling for people to kill Americans is not responsible journalism. “We think that needs to stop,” the official said. " indicate that raw news should be edited for the common man's consumption.

Keep on Al-jazeera TV, some of us prefer raw news. For those who do not like them, to paraphrase general Kemitt, they can always switch channel such as Weekly Standard, National Review, The American Spectator and other objective pundits.

Keep on the good work, at least you inform us.

:Speaks for itself

The United States cannot stop Sharon from assassinating people.

When President Bush demanded that Sharon withdraw his military forces from the West Bank, Sharon showed Bush the utmost contempt by ignoring him. However, the United States could join the rest of the world in condemning assassinations. But Bush does not have the guts to do it. He swallowed Sharon's calculated insult and, publicly humiliated, smiled like a little boy. A real man would have called Sharon and said: "Look, Mister, you've got 24 hours to pull those troops out of the occupied areas. If you don't, I'm cutting off all U.S. aid to Israel immediately, and I will instruct the ambassador to the United Nations to inform other members of the Security Council that the United States will no longer veto any resolutions directed against Israel. Furthermore, if you think your Israeli lobby can change my mind, call the lobbyists up and ask them how they will feel if the president of the United States goes on national television and raises the subject of dual loyalty. You seemed to be confused as to who the dog is and who the tail is. Well, I'm here to tell you that I'm the dog and you're the tail, and you're damned close to getting chopped off."

Alas, there is no man in the White House.

One sided articles

I am amazed to see how your site offers only one-sided views and opinions. Without the voice of the "other side", how can you expect to educate your readers as you claim? All I see is a lot of Bush haters, American Zionists, and poor Iraq.

While Americans do feel sorry for the civilian Iraqis and the ones who just want to live in peace, we don't feel sorry for the ones who are shooting soldiers or the ones who think they can justify the civilians burned and drug through the streets. What did that prove? Is everyone afraid to call these people who did this animals. THEY HAD NO RIGHT. People are risking their lives to come over and help build Iraq back, yet these people don't care.

A regular featured writer to your site-Mike Whitney- says we should leave. Imagine if America just left. What blame we would get. WE LEFT THE COUNTRY IN RUINS, BLAH BLAH BLAH. But isn't this what they wanted? Instead of looking for blame, realize that we are there and when everyone decides to work together, we will then leave.

His article on the Flag Draped Coffins, well, that isn't a Bush policy. That policy was in place after the Gulf War, and Clinton up held that policy when people were brought back after Simalia. Many Americans find that an acceptable act. I wouldn't want my family "in the media". Arguments for both sides, which is right? Who knows! Americans are famous for yelling first amendment, blah blah. If the situation was reversed, someone would have something to say about that. You can't make all happy all the time.

Please, just start printing something from a different view point. All of us that have a different view aren't anti-Muslim. Believe it or not, some of us can actually look at things objectively and should be given the same voice.

Thanks

Lynne Irby

Editor: Viewpoints supporting wars, invasions, and occupations can be found in major corporate media. It's the Mission of Al-Jazeerah to promote peace, not war or subjugation of people. War is wrong, period. There are endless ways to resolve international conflicts peacefully. That's why the UN was created after World War II. You're welcome to submit articles that promote peace between the US and the world.

ISRAELI AMBASSADOR'S ARTICLE IN HINDUSTAN TIMES, NEW DELHI

David Danieli, the Israeli ambassador to India seems to have asked a right question, if one has to follow the old dictum: have gun, will shoot. (HT, Apr 27, 2004 - 'Survival instinct')

If Israel has to act to counteract the ramshackle army of suicide bombers, who have given enough pretext for Israel to amass such a huge arsenal, that it can wipe out thousands of West Banks and Gaza strips by the pressing of a single button, Israel needs to immediately abide by international laws, implement UN resolutions, pull out ‘unilaterally’ from all territories that its forces occupied in 1967, vacate all illegal settlements forcibly inflicted on occupied West Bank and Gaza, against world as well as even US protests, however technical they might have been.

On the other hand, Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation is legal in all forms and legitimized by the Geneva Convention.

After all Haganah, the Jewish terrorist organisation had been ‘legally’ indulging in the same resistance and liberation activity, when on Monday, July 22, 1946, they bombed King David Hotel, the HQ of British colonial power in occupied Palestine.

There cannot be dual standards of Jewish sense of justice when the law is the very foundation of Judaism as well as Israeli state.
