Famous Quotes about War&Peace #16 "I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive goodwill will proclaim the rule of the land." Martin Luther King Contributed by Charles Beers
No war in Iraq
Dear Sir: I am appalled at the events going on in the Middle East. I think it was a tragic mistake for the United States to attack Iraq. The West as no business getting involved in the affairs of other countries in a military way. We could have accomplished a lot more by providing humanitarian way rather than through war. I believe the Muslims of the world should handle their own affairs. President Bush has lied to all the world and continues to do so. I am sorry to say we have a very large group who are the blind following the blind. I am a Christian who supports Jesus who was for peace not war. Please let other Muslims know that there are Americans who love them, support their rights and are trying to work to get rid of the American war machine. Thank you and peace be with you, Terry L. Irwin
Iraq plebiscite Dear sirs, Why not request the United Nations to handle a plebiscite asking the Arab people of Iraq to vote in a secret ballot answering the following question; Do you want the Coalition forces to leave Iraq now, and let the people of Iraq decide their own future for themselves? Yes or No. They could ask for all sides to respect a momentary cease fire until the plebiscite was answered. As long as the United Nations was respected enough it would give the people of Iraq and the Coalition forces a way out of this stupid conflict and possibly save many lives. If the Coalition forces only went to Iraq to rid them of Saddam Hussein and destroy any weapons of mass destruction they have completed their task. The idea of inflicting a United States version of democracy on Iraq should not be part of this task. Thank you, R. J. Scott A concerned Canadian
