A Thanksgiving Homage To The Troops

Eight months into our illegal attack on Iraq the majority of Americans, & indeed the world, now know that Bush lied. Nor are we any safer than before - quite the opposite. Who, after all, would entertain our type of imposed bayonet democracy, as we ride roughshod through the Third World?

A lynch mob may well be democratic, but that doesn't make it right. al Qa'ida does not bomb because they hate freedom. It is their response to all of our belligerent foreign policies abroad, from the 37 yearlong Palestinian occupation to Iraq. Israel has more WMD than all of the Muslim/Arab countries combined.

From whom do you suppose they acquired them? Mr. Bush lied when he said we have "tolerated" dictators. "Rubbish." writes the highly acclaimed British war correspondent Robert Fisk, "We created them." Our troops are being used as pawns in the Bush/Blair global game of Risk. They & their mob of international gangsters are so power hungry they don't care who they kill or how many of our soldiers die, so long as they can keep the coffins under wraps.

Journalist Andrew Cockburn, reporting from Iraq, states that "the U.S. expeditionary force is tired, terrified, & trigger-happy." While Halliburton & Bechtel cronies loot our treasury, & Iraq's, our soldiers are dying in the dust while their families suffer grief & financial ruin.

A Message to protestors from the Mayor of London

`I also have a message for people who are intending to participate in protests over the next couple of days. `You have the moral high ground. You are protesting against an illegal war and occupation – and the world will be watching you. `Your right to peaceful protest will be upheld by the Greater London Authority and the Metropolitan Police Service. `But you also have responsibilities to the people of London and the wider world - there will be no place for violence of any kind in London this week. Protests must be peaceful and within the law.’

Friday, 21 November 2003 - London: Did you see the more than 200 000 people demonstrating against Bush - with his statue as a resemblance of Saddam statue, being torn down ? (Just in case there is no such news on US TV)

There will be an interesting documentary December 12th 10.45 h p.m. on ZDF (German TV station) "The Big Lies" in Case you have satellite TV: (its mainly about the Niger Story and the fraud - trying to tell the public, Saddam had tried to buy 500 tons of Uranium from SOMAIR in Niger - when the general director Serge Martinez said, there was never such a deal - its ridiculous and he resents being part of this scheme. The only customer for Uranium is France (approx 1000 tons per year) Tuareg confirmed: there would be no way to take the (secret) road through the desert - it would take a large number of trucks 3 weeks to get to the Harbor, where it would be shipped.....NO way possible ! Josph Wilson - Ex-US-Ambassdor also stated: "NO Uranium was ever sold to Saddam" Ex-Foreignminister of Niger Mr. Habibu said: 11 years ago he was last in office - and the letters the CIA had used - where his old stationary, but everything was forged. President Mamadou of Niger is very angry because his reputation and country has been slantered and used for the lies of the CIA.

Another information: Did you know - more than 7500 US soldiers have been brought to Landsberg, Germany - US hospital - wounded in Iraq - since the beginning of the war there. The American public is not supposed to see this. Lost arms or legs, lost eyesights - burns - anything you can think of - and all of them worry: will I be able to get a job when I return to the US - will the government take care of my family... One soldier asked what he thought of the war - and if he thought the Americans will eventually win: "No, I don´t think they can win" (and he was hesitating to answer, because being on camera could hurt his career) All of them terribly scared to have to go back to Iraq after recovery (if they recovered) Very sad indeed. And has anyone ever witnessed on American TV the burial of the dead soldiers returned from Iraq ? No ? Thats right - NO TV coverage !! Guess why.

The impeachment of Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr

November 22, 2003

To Whom It May Concern:

Greetings in the name of the Holy Triune God!

Young people today seem not to care on the things happening around them.  But we, the concerned students of the College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac refuse to believe this.  We are fully aware of what our country is experiencing regarding the political crisis brought about by the issue on the impeachment of Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr.  We the youth, are caught in the middle making it hard for us to make a stand.  But we are firm in our decision to be against the impeachment trial.  Because of this, our group compiled our views, so in one-way or another, our voice may be heard.

*Note: Response from your organization will contribute to our project’s completion. We hope for your reply soon.

Thank you.

                                                                                                Sincerely Yours,

OUR REACTION ON THE IMPEACHMENT OF DAVIDE

The impeachment of Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. has quite alarmed the Filipino People and divided the nation into two-those favoring for the impeachment to continue and those who don’t agree with it.  The pro-impeachment group insists on continuing the process so that the public would know where the funds of the judiciary went.  While the anti-impeachment group says that there are still other ways to know about the problem.

We do not favor for the impeachment of Davide because of certain reasons.  There are several impeachment complaints over the alleged misuse of funds of the judiciary, which were signed by eighty (80) congressmen spearheaded by the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).  We are just wondering how come only these representatives are filing complaints and decided to resolve on the impeachment of Davide?  Our parents said that Danding Cojuangco is the chairman of NPC and the news in TV Patrol supported this.  A supporter of Davide said last Monday that the issue on the Coco Levy Fund favoring the farmers instead of Danding owning it and several civil cases temporar! ily held by the Sandiganbayan which are soon to be passed to the Supreme Court were the reasons why these members of the Congress want to continue with the trial.  We suspect that politics is behind the move.  With the power, influence, and money of this politician-businessman, no wonder why many congressmen favored for this process.  It shows clearly that this man controls these people. This impeachment issue is like Sen. Panfilo Lacson and the Jose Pidal Account, wherein to cover-up his own cases, Sen. Lacson brought out the case of the account signed by a certain Jose Pidal.  In this present issue, Danding revealed the matter of the misuse funds through his members so that the people would not direct their attention to his cases instead, to Davide’s case.

This problem just proved that Philippine politics is really dirty, though some people tend to be blind and deaf of the real things happening.  Many officials need to clear out their names now since election is near. And with this issue, we tried to resolve to one thing- to choose, that which is of lesser evil. And eventhough, the Congress wants to pursue with the trial, we shall still stick to our decision.
