I am writing to you from Australia. Please let people know that... We do not agree that our Australian troops should be in Iraq.

People over here do not support Bush. We do not support Howard. When will they ever learn?

John Anast's article, (Al-Jazeerah, 11/9/03). It was great!

Are there any studies on the loss of life in the occupation of Germany or Japan?

My parents were Americans who  served in the British and American Armies first in North Africa then in Europe.

Dad joined the RAMC in 1942 and mother went to England in 1942 with the Red Cross then joined the Army.  They saw some tough times.

I have listened to all the hand wringing about the loss of American Life in Iraq.  I am currently reading “An Army at Dawn” about the 1942-43 invasion of North Africa.  The story describes one disaster after another until the final result.  I heard a TV journalist comment that there was no loss of life in the occupation of Japan or Germany.  I do not believe that to be true.  The John Anast article made me think of that statement.  I hope I have not wandered too far from the subject.  I am looking for a book or a lead to facts about he occupation of Germany and Japan.  Thanks again for your response.

Thank you for your efforts to provide a forum, which is intended to promote intercultural understanding. Because I am also concerned with this subject, I may offer some help by sending you some information related to the Bush-Hitler comparison by former German minister of justice. Her complete name is Hertha Deubler-Gmelin and she was removed from her duties because of this comparison. More important, the person shown on the photo is actually not Mrs. Deubler- Gmelin, but Angela Merkel, general-secretary of German party "CDU" (conservatives), though the subtext says otherwise. I hope this information may help you to prevent further misunderstandings.

Editor: Thanks Mike, could you be more specific about which photo and what date.

To: The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States http://www.9-11commission.gov

As a United States Citizen, I demand that your commission forces the Bush administration to turn over all documents (especially the Presidential Daily Briefings) and all crucial information needed by your official and legal commission with NO compromises or editing! Thomas Kean, your Chairman, vowed to (quote) "uncover every detail and learn every lesson of September 11th." "Any document that has to do with this investigation cannot be beyond our reach." He also stated in regards to the lack of White House cooperation in turning over full and unedited documentation, "I will not stand for it. That means that we will use every tool at our command to get hold of every document."

You have the necessary security clearances to see everything without compromising national security... though ironically our national security has already been compromised. The Citizens of this country and the rest of the world deserve "The whole Truth" from your complete and authorized investigation of the disastrous security failures and suspected dereliction of duty by our commander-in-chief concerning the attacks on America on 9-11, 2001. What are they hiding? Our nation's security and survival is at stake here, in our Homeland, not off in foreign lands like Iraq and Afghanistan.

I pray that the emerging Oligarchy never sees the light of day and that Democracy shines brightly once again.

Peace,

Chuck Beers Farmersville, Ohio

George W. Bush Loves Michael Jackson

The saddest part of this article is that, it sheds light on a very shameful aspect of U.S news media. After all, while the rest of the world is watching news of events which have world wide impact, (such as the protests against George Bush, casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan, illegal U.S tariffs on foreign goods and prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay) news cast here in the U.S have turned to Michael Jackson's misadventures. This speaks volumes of what appears to be an inability or unwillingness to face issues which may have a negative impact on the Bush administration's image.

This twisted focus on the shallow, at the expense of meaningful events is, at best shameful, at worst tragic and brings into question whether or not this is an attempt to avoid being held accountable for our own actions world wide

Many remember the folded American dollar bill about the 9-11 garboil.

How many remember the following too?

Go to Microsoft fonts, and using wingdings type Q33NY (use caps), it's the registration number of one of one of the planes involved in 9/11....If you use size 24 it gives full visual impact.
