Dear Editor,

we didn't receive the 5th interview with Al-Sahaf on your web-side. Please would you be so kind and send this part per e-mail.

Kind regards,

Gerhard Lange, Denmark

Editor: Please be patient. It hasn't been translated yet. Al-Jazeerah needs funding for translations from Arabic, and we need volunteer translators until this happens. There is an urgent need in the world to know about what's really going on in the Middle East, which is not being conveyed by corporate media and news agencies so far.

Saddam Capture

Will the capture of Saddam bring justice to all? With the capture of Saddam, the truth about WMD will be revealed. But will US and UK leaders be brought to justice for waging an illegitimate and ILLEGAL war that killed thousands too, if WMD is proven to be non-existence? Or will US and UK leaders simply ‘dig into their piles of prepared lies” that says Saddam still does not co-operate and make it hard to find the WMD?

Saddam testimonials must be heard by all, even if it finally reveals the ‘mother of all lies’ and justice must be brought against these perpetrators.

Or will the perpetrator of the illegal war finally resigned into some luxurious farm house somewhere in Texas and live happily ever after, instead of some holes dug in the ground?

Jesus was a pacifist and a peace activist. He still is.

Merry Christmas.

The Jesus that I know and love is so filled with compassion that He makes special field trips to Hell, taking pitchers of ice water to those who ignore "Thou shalt not kill" signs to their own peril.

He also brings fruit baskets to the poor.

And He is dead set against corporate welfare too. It's that "eye of the needle" thing. If Jesus had staged His Second Coming last month, for instance, he would have been out protesting in Miami. And Bush, Halliburton, NAFTA and them would have had Him beaten, jailed and sent off to Guantanamo (Jesus was, after all, a Palestinian.)

So. In Christ's name, let's all have a Merry Christmas, bring our troops safely home from Iraq and send Bush, Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfowitz, Cheney and them off to fight their own deceitful sleazy wars so that it will be them, not us, who end up in Hell.

In honor of the birthday of the Prince of Peace, may those of us who would be Christians make a solemn vow to do unto others as we would have others do unto us.

And let's also start to practice what we preach.

In the spirit of Christmas, Jane Stillwater, Berkeley, CA

To prevent future illegal wars, an International Enquiry Commission is needed

While Kofi Annan is prepared to step in once again into Iraqi imbroglio, the world would be interested to know the full truth about why US/UK invaded a UN member country and how such tragedies can be avoided in future. The best course of action for Kofi Annan will be to get the Security Council mandate to institute an international enquiry commission into all aspects of Iraqi invasion and the real criminals on both sides.

The world cannot be forced to acquiesce on all that US doles out as its side of the story. The International Enquiry Commission should call both sides to present their cases and should reach its own definitive conclusion as a matter of record, as to who was the guilty party in the whole face-off and how the tragedy could have been and could be avoid in future. It can further enquire as to where the United Nation itself failed and how its structure should be reform to be able to forestall such catastrophic war situations.

This is the least United Nation! could do to inspire confidence of the whole world in its neutrality and credibility. This commission may or may not impose any punitive measures on the erring parties; but its verdict should clear the heavy fog of propaganda and falsehood that usually clouds the truth and perpetrates further injustices.
