David Gordon response to John Anast

In attempting dialogue, Palestinians and Jews should forget religious rhetoric and deal with the human needs of both groups. It is an issue that women and children of both groups are weeping for their loved ones. It matters that Palestinian families are being cast out of their homes. This is no time to get lost in religious questions about which you will never agree. Instead, talk of how to create a JUST solution to the land question. I don't think either side is oblivious to fairness or justice as a basis for discussing the issues between them. but you cannot get to the deeper issues if you get lost on matters of doctrine which can never be resolved.

Teri Tyler

Editor: There is no problem between Palestinians and Jews. There is a problem between Palestinians and Israelis and it is about land and political rights. It is not about religion. Jews and Muslims lived in peace, together, for thousands of years.  Conflict started when Zionists established Israel and expanded its borders far beyond the 1947 Partition resolution then kept expanding and launching wars on Arabs almost continuously in every decade. It's not a religious problem. It is Zionist imperialism and Zionist colonialism combined.

:It's time for Mohammad T. Al-Rasheed to wake up

The article subject of this letter has aroused an outrage in me, coming from Arab News by Mohammad T. Al-Rasheed.

With his surrender type attitude to an illegal invasion of an Arab sovereign nation by another country, and if his views reflect the attitude of all Arab nations, then no wonder the small bully ( Israel ) in their midst is continuing to occupy more Arab land, subjecting over 3.5 million Arabs to daily killings, humiliation, deprivation and starvation regardless of any opposition from whatever world body including the numerous UN resolutions against it over a period of 35 years.

The war in IRAQ is a child play compared to what seems to be coming to the region from Bush and his Zionist friends in the White House. The writings are all over the wall for the whole world to see. What Mr. Al- Rasheed is actually saying, it's OK for America to occupy Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria Lebanon, Jordan and all the rest from the great river of Egypt to the Euphrates in Iraq. This is a dream come true to the Americans best friend Israel. I think it's time for Mr. Al-Rasheed himself to wake up.

Mr. Al-Rasheed is worried that Arabs will risk going back to tents if the Arabs don't accept occupation. I wonder where was he all these years the Phalastinian people have been living in tents already for the last 55 years Thanks to his surrender type attitude and further more What did the Americans do about it.

NO one in his right mind would advocate terrorism, but terrorism has been purged upon the Arabs in Phalastine, Lebanon, Syria and now the killing of civilians in Iraq. What is it going to take next in order for guys like Mr. Al-Rasheed to wake up. America is the only super power in the world, they don't need to flex their mighty mussels and go to war against an already dead nation for oil, they are getting it and would have continued to get it by the simple fact of being the super power.

Millions of articles has been written by thinkers and heavy weights against the war in Iraq from all over the world, are they all stupid.?

What is the Real Meaning Of Christmas?

Most of us including myself thought that Jesus was born December 25th. This is not true. Jesus Christ was born during tax season in the month of September (Luke 2:4-9). The three wisemen were astrologers who were asked to follow the eastern star (Matthew 2:7), and let King Herod know where Jesus was located, so he could kill Jesus (Matthew 2:12-13). When King Herod found out Mary had left with Jesus before he could kill him was very angry and killed all the children in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:16). After King Herod died Mary was able to return with Jesus (Matthew 2:19-21). The only recorded birthday in the Bible is King Herod's birthday where he asked for the head of John the Baptist (Matthew 14:6).

I was born in America and I find it shameful that religions in America are continuing to lie about Jesus birth. Everyone knows that Satan is the father of the lie (John 8:44). We know that God does not lie (Hebrews 6:18).

The purpose of the Christmas Holiday is for the government to sell all of their goods for the start of their new year. Most religions in the United States and other countries continue to teach this lie. Jesus never celebrated his birthday during his 30 years on this earth. All he asked is that we remember his death ((1Corinthians 11:23-34). When you use God or Jesus Christ to bring financial gain, you have committed a great sin. Christmas does not exist in Gods eyes, so why waist your money? You should show kindness everyday of the year not just one day of the year. What is the real meaning of Christmas? The greatest lie that was ever told.

Scriptures are taken from the King James Version of the Bible.

Masks and flu

With so many diseases spread by coughing and sneezing (such as SARS and flu), perhaps it would be wise to stay home instead of going to work and making others sick, possibly fatally so. (Employers take note!)

If you have to visit a doctor's office, ask for a medical mask (or an isolation room) to help you keep your germs and viruses to yourself. Those in the waiting room would also be wise to put on a mask. Masks also keep you from contaminating your hands when you rub your itchy nose, so wash your hands well after you put the mask on to make your hands clean again.

What does Al Jazeerah mean in English?

Please tell me what Al Jazeerah means in English. My curiosity was raised after I bought a CD called, "Oud Al Jazira". I would be obliged for a reply.

Regards,

Lloyd

Editor:

Al-Jazeerah literally means the Island. It is usually used as Al-Jazeerah Al-Arabiya to mean the Arab Island. It is also a reference to the Arabian Peninsula, which is surrounded by water from three directions and by a sand desert from the fourth. Oud Al-Jzira refers to an Arab musical instrument that looks like a guitar. Read more about Al-Jazeerah in the Mission Section.

Israeli intelligence official exposes Israeli conspiracy to get US-UK to attack Iraq

A story filed in USTODAY ONLINE, by AP, reports the testimony of a retired senior Israeli military intelligence officer, Sholom Brom, who is now a researcher with Israeli’s top strategic think tank, who has written in an article in Strategic Assessment, a publication of the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies at Tel Aviv University, that Israeli intelligence has overplayed the threat posed by Iraq to hoodwink US into launching an invasion of an Arab country, just to articulate their hate of Saddam.

Following is the link to USTODAY news report: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2003-12-04-israeli-iraq-threat_x.htm

American people should beware of their President’s slavish mortgaging of America’s defense forces and all its resources, blindly to follow Israeli plans to start wars and create disaffection among the people of the world.
